THREE

Jane Pov:

Confused, I stopped in the hallway. What was that all about?

There was something about him that I could not explain. His gloomy manner, his cold eyes, everything magically attracted me. I couldn't think clearly next to him, my hormones were going crazy like those of a pregnant woman who was just going into labor.

Half the hour was already over and I was still watching the fly, which I named Heinz, by the way. It was constantly flying towards the window with a bang, even though the other one was open. Well, at least I had something amusing from all this shit here.

When I got bored with the spectacle of Heinz, I took out my cell phone. But no Iphone with a brand new design and nothing else. Mine was some medieval junk that my parents had bought me when I rebelled again. But Mrs. Bennet's face had been just too delicious when she got my chocolate cake right in her ugly face. The temptation had simply been great. It was her own fault.

With my 3 MB of disk space, I could barely afford to download WhatsApp. But the only message I ever got was once a week from my mom who mistook a turd for a chocolate kiss or switched me with one of her friends.

Surprisingly, I saw that I actually got one. Maybe this year will be anyway.

Well, I was happy too soon.

The only one that I had voluntarily written to was my cell phone provider to remind me to recharge money.

Angrily I put my cell phone back into my black trouser pocket, which was already completely washed out.

Nevertheless I will not throw it away. It connected me with so many beautiful memories, rebellions and protests. And that's why I wanted to keep her, because she always gave me the courage to speak my mind.

Heinz was still buzzing around on the window pane, trying to get outside by simply running towards the pane 3000 times before he gave up and tried the next window. That, or he tried to get a bite of the half rotten lunch that has been lying in the same place for years and nobody dares to touch it for fear of getting the plague or Ebola.

Not even the cleaners were able to scrape the bread off without getting a nausea and storming the toilet.

I wouldn't be surprised if one day it triggered an insect invasion.

At least then I would finally have some action in my otherwise boring life.

The ringing of the school bell startled me and a few seconds later the cake-eater came storming out of our classroom. She gave me a pretty angry and admonishing look before she whirled away as if she had to win a marathon.

Grinning, I joined my classmates again. Or rather, comrade. Lucy had just burst her gum bubble with her teeth before she formed a new one. Meanwhile she plucked fluff from her black miniskirt and tried to raise her neckline a little bit, also black. Actually everything about her was black. Only her blonde hair, which fell wavy over her shoulders and her green eyes, which were brought out by an eyelid line, were the only colorful things about her. Unfortunately Joanna was not in my class.

"One day you'll be expelled from school because of Mrs. Bennet, you know that, don't you?" she grinned at me amusedly and formed her next bubble of gum.

I just shrugged my shoulders. "I don't care. All my parents have to do is wag their dirty banknotes and I'll be back in this fool's house," I said indifferently. "Besides, she's far too scared of me. She wouldn't dare."

Lucy nodded at me before she also started to move, took out her books and looked at me waiting. "Are you waiting for an invitation or are you coming now?"

Confused, I looked back, which she only commented with a twisted eye, before theatrically stretching out her hands in the air. "We have biology now."

"I'm coming," I grumbled, and now I took out my books as well, when she grabbed me by the arm and hectically pulled me along.

On the main corridor she finally let go of me, while I had to take a breather.

"You're really the most unathletic pig I know!" She looked at me impatiently.

"And you really are the nicest person I know," I returned sarcastically.

"I know that already, tell me something new! And now come on!"

"Forget it. I need a break," I replied slaggedly, even if it was only 50 meters.

"Whatever you say." She ran away, shrugging her shoulders.

"Hey! Lucy, wait for me!" I yelled after her, but she had already disappeared around the corner.

Oh, great.

I ran after her cursing, only to run into someone.

"Man, watch out," I called the person names until I noticed who was standing in front of me.

Fuck.
