32 Vampire Diaries 30: Chase Happiness

Drake put his cloak around me. He embraces my soul and listens to his heartbeat.

"I thought something happened to you, Thalia."

"Forgi–forgive me! But, I don't want to stay back and watch everyone struggling to fight!"

He takes a long sigh and steps backwards. His eyes become bold and sharp, but he gives me an assurance smile.

He said, "Shh. You don't have to raise your voice in me. I understand why you did it,"

Drake cup my face as he caresses it gently.

It gives shivers to my spine every time he does it. Doubt and fear vanish instantly when I'm with him.

"Dr–Drake..."

"Thalia." He utters my name beautifully.

Like if I can only listen to his deep and husky voice. "Come with me, I need to treat your wounds."

Abruptly, he opens his palm, waiting for me to hold it. "How about the werewolves?! We... we need to give them a lesson!" I clamour.

"Shh. Breath in and calm down. Werewolves are gone and it's because of your bravery!"

"But, I'm searching for someone who needs my help!"

I look away from his gaze but Drake holds my chin and stoops. "I can see your soul with my naked eyes, Thalia. If you won't change your clothes, I am certain that there's something that will happen, right here and right now."

Out of the blue, he bites his lower lip and squeezes my waist tightly.

"Drake,"

"Shall we?"

Without saying a word, I nod and accepts his invitation.

"You are like a sun that gives me warmth."

I whisper, assuming that he didn't hear it.

Drake squeezes my shivering hand gently. "Close your eyes, Thalia. It'll be quick but you need to rest your eyes."

He carries me like a bride, as I wrap my arms around his neck. I... I gulp when I feel his hard, solid chest.

Drake perhaps trains himself as he needs to fight against the werewolves. He's a vampire-like us. He must equip and learn how to kill the enemies effortlessly.

"Hmm. My eyes are too heavy to carry."

"Sleep for now." The warmth of his breath touches into my cheeks.

Until I close my eyes as if I am hypnotised by him.

"Stay with me, Thalia."

Drake whispers it but I'm too drowsy to ask him why.

The moonlight looks perfect as it reflects the room where I stayed. There's a tall mirror at my right side that enthrals me look at my reflection.

As I walk slowly, I notice that my wound was treated and my torn shirt was changed to a long, white dress. "Ohh! He knows what I want to wear!" I giggle secretly.

The mirror is garnished with pure golds and steel. It seems like tall as him, but I think Drake is taller than it. "Hello! Is anybody else in here?"

My voice echoes around the bright, entire room. But, due to the moonlight, dullness vanishes and a warm emotion fill the place.

No one replies, except to the chirping birds flying around.

Minutes passed but I'm still looking at my reflection. Long, curly hair with a pair of round emerald eyes. A pointed nose and thin skin match perfectly from my lips down to my chin.

"You are beautiful and stunning, Thalia. I... I can't believe that I transmigrated to your body that night."

I take a long sigh when a cold wind howls and embraces the entire me. It's calming and refreshing to breath fresh air.

However, someone appears who's wearing an apron. He's tall and half-naked but he's wearing dark and simple trousers.

"Drake?"

Calling someone's name never been this sweet and genuine before. Every time I call and say his name, my heart would flutter and it would beat so loud.

Slowly, I walk closer to him as he's occupied with something else.

"What he's doing in the middle of the night?"

I ask the wind while taking steps forward.

I am standing behind him when someone, a woman to be exact comes from nowhere. She's tall, beautiful and her bluish eyes look perfect.

She stoops and whispers into his ears but I can't hear a thing.

"What are you doing here?"

Drake uses his cold and serious tone. He seems irritated and annoyed upon seeing the woman standing before him.

I... I don't know but I feel happy and I want to burst into laughter. It looks like a hard slap to a woman's face but, she abruptly grabs his arm and wraps her arms around his neck.

"Wow! Such a wild woman, leeching to a man who doesn't even bear to look at her eyes!"

Shaking my head back and forth is the only that I do. It seems like a tragic love story of an old, good friend of mine.

Drake put the small basil to the table and he looks intently into her eyes. He is breathing heavily, but one wrong move, their lips will meet at once.

"Who's the woman you brought earlier?"

"It's none of your business! It's my life and I will do everything that I want to." Drake reply as he pushes away the woman.

I thought seeing her that way will make me happy. But, I feel a sudden kindness towards her.

"Why did you push her?"

"You're awake!"

I look at the woman and help her to stand. However, she hits and declines the offer that makes me surprised and confused.

Drake grab me away from her and see my hands. He said, "How's your hand? Is it painful?"

He overthinks but I give him a sweet and wide smile. "I'm fine. Don't you worry, I can protect myself from anyone!"

"I know but you can't blame me for worrying about you!"

"Shh, calm down. Nothing and no one can hurt me, do you understand?"

I cup his face gently, reassuring that I'll be fine and safe.

The woman angrily stands alone and tempt to point her index finger at my face. She cursed out while staring on me fiercely.

"Don't celebrate too early because I will not stop until Drake ended up in my arms!"

"Leave us alone, now!"

His deep and serious voice is enough for her to be frightened. She gulps and blinks her eyes upon hearing it.

But still, she glares at me as I said. "The more you chase happiness, the more it is hard to accomplish."

Drake is amazed by what I've said. He touches and caresses my waist in front of another woman.

"You never fail me to fall in love with you every single day." He whispers and leaves kisses to my neck.
