Vampire Diaries 26: A Slice of Cake

Drake touches my nape as he deepens the kiss. It tastes at home. I feel safe and warm with his simple touch and deep voice.

"Thalia,"

"Let's go somewhere distant and away from here! I... I don't want to marry the Vampire King!"

I raise my voice when I remember about our wedding. I need to do something that will make Jack dismayed and change his mind.

Drake caresses my hair and smiles at me.

His hair looks shiny and glowing. His white and perfect set of teeth matches with his thin, crimson lips.

His pointed nose and enthralling eyes. I watch everything in his face, trying to memorise every detail of him.

"You look like a mortal, Drake."

Out of the blue, I tell him something which makes him look away and gulp.

He stands and looks around without answering me.

"I need to find my men,"

His voice turns cold and scaring. "Stay here. I will be back once I found them."

Drake is not looking for me. He looks uncomfortable and he's angling his adam's apple.

Even though I want him to stay with me. I nods my head and said, "If only I can still fight, you will not going to be this way."

I stare at the bright moon, while he remains quiet and breathing deeply.

I don't know, but I feel like punching him until his chest bleed.

"Keep your words, woman. Or I will tell the Vampire King that you are cheating on him."

"I hate you!"

I said it.

But, I don't want to argue with him in the middle of a fight.

He bends over without saying a word. His eyes are full of hatred and wrath.

"You are not him."

"What did you say?"

Moving closer and holds my jaw. But it feels the same, that makes me crazy and crave for more.

However, I am still annoyed and irritated by him.

That's why I say it all over again. "I said, I hate you!"

I imagine his angry and scared face. But, Drake turns his back and punches the wind.

"Don't go back to the King's palace!"

"Who are you to tell me what I'm supposed to do?"

My voice raises because of him.

Drake looks at me. His gaze is driving me crazy but I must not be scared.

"Seeing you again makes me scream. But, your words are too deep to be understood."

My heart stops beating when I look into his eyes. He's sad and miserable, but his face tells different.

A deafening silence embraces the entire forest. Valmer and the werewolf is gone and goes somewhere to fight.

"Don't look at me as if you cuss me," He whispered. "But, I need to leave you again for your safety."

"No! I don't need your help. Because I can kill all the werewolves who attacked our home!"

Without asking for help, I stand and force myself to bear all the pain. "This empire is not your home, Thalia."

I breaths deeply and give him an abrupt laugh that lasts for a couple of seconds.

I murmur, "You speaks like you are an opponent!"

"Goodbye, Thalia!"

Drake abruptly disappears out of my sight. "Why do I feel this way? My... My heart flutters when he's with me but now that he's gone, I feel heartbroken and sad!"

"I need to follow him before things become worst!"

However, as I take steps forward. The trees around me dance gracefully like a ballerina performing in the stage.

The moon's fascinating beauty reflects and reveals the truth. "Why do werewolves abruptly attacked us?"

Things come to my mind. Possibilities and traitors are lurking around the and or even inside of the King's palace.

Despite the promise that I have made, I break it as I walk slowly back to the hall.

Brightness plagued the way back to the battleground. Werewolves scattered around while vampires strive to overthrow the enemies.

"Thalia? What are you doing here?"

Emilia appears out of nowhere. She's breathing heavily and her arms are bleeding.

"Wh–what happened to your arms?"

"Long story to tell. Stay back and save yourself out from here!"

"No! I won't leave you!"

I look at her and Emilia cursed out. "Damn you, woman! You are wounded, Thalia! Escape now, hurry up!"

Turning my back on her means nothing but a coward vampire who chooses herself than saving her friend.

No! I must not leave or my conscience will bother me until the rest of my life.

"Emilia,"

"Run towards the palace and look over your mother! Fallujah needs you more than I am!"

Upon hearing my mother's name. Bitterness and hatred come back to my chest. Thea must pay for what she has done!

Perhaps it's not the perfect time for revenge. But, I will make a way to get even with her.

However, Emilia growls horribly when a werewolf comes out and attacks her.

I see it with my naked eyes! A huge and bear-like beast hurt my friend.

"Emilia!"

Calling her name catches the enemy's attention. The werewolf growls at me as it shows its sharp and harmful teeth.

Emilia stands from the ground and she's breathing heavily. She said, "Run, Thalia! Run!"

Her voice urges me to stay. I will stay and I will fight against this horrible creature.

"I will kill you!"

Emilia gasps while listening and watching me. I know she cares for me but my wounds are not serious.

The werewolf howls that blows up my hair. Instead of feeling afraid, I stand still before it. Glaring with my eyes burning of fire and bitterness.

"All of you will pay for killing my brother!"

Screaming on the top of my lungs is the best way to distract the enemy. I run as fast as I can and use my paws to scratch its back.

Emilia sniffs and said, "Behind y–"

I didn't hear Emilia's voice again. Out of nowhere, she disappears from the place where she's standing.

"Emilia,"

I call her name, expecting to know her whereabouts but she didn't answer.

Before it can hurt others, I use my strength to jump into the werewolf's back. I scratch and punch it until it falls into the ground.

"Huh!"

"Fighting against you is only a slice of cake for me!" I murmur and turn my back on the dying werewolf.

However, a few steps away. It scrapes my back so deeply. "Ahhh!" I scream because of pain.

The werewolf's paws are sharper than I have. But, I don't accept downfall from a weak and disgusting monster.

As I fall into the ground, I earned enough strength to attack the enemy.

Until my fangs show up and I quickly bite its neck. The werewolf strives to escape but I grasp it tightly and sucks its blood without mercy.

"Farewell to you, my friend," I whisper and push a lifeless werewolf.
