8 A Tragic Evening

Tian Mei grabbed Xue Yang by his hand and led him to the bedroom.

As soon as they made it inside and the door closed behind them, Tian Mei turned around hooking her hands around Xue Yang's neck.

Taking it as a signal, Xue Yang lowered his head, kissing Tian Mei.

At first, it was a simple peck of the lips but as the two became more comfortable it became more serious.

Xue Yang parted her lips with his tongue, slowly snaking it inside her mouth.

Their tongues started to intertwine, exchanging saliva and battling for supremacy.

As they kissed, Xue Yang started to feel his bloodlust acting up. The Solar Sickness had severely drained him.

Because of this, his bloodlust was near its peak. Under normal circumstances, he'd be able to last a long time without a drop of blood.

But after going through an entire day out in the sun while still a brand-new vampire, his hunger increased exponentially.

He could feel the urge to plunge his teeth into her sweet and supple neck. However, believing he could easily resist the urge like he had managed to resist temptations as Dennis, he continued.

"Uhhh"

"Ahhh"

Tian Mei moaned as she started to feel more and more excited.

Smirking slightly, Xue Yang leaned forward further, lifting Tian Mei in a princess carry.

"Ah!" she yelped as he lifted her.

The two continued to kiss as Xue Yang carried her to her large canopy bed.

It was a bed large enough to fit at least four people if not more. Various decorative pillows were stacked on top of it.

Sweeping them off to the side, Xue Yang gently placed Tian Mei on top of the bed.

As he laid her down, she wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him closer on top of her.

"Mmm"

Breaking off their kiss Xue Yang said, "Someone seems eager."

"You're the one to talk." She replied as she gestured with her head to his risen dragon that was noticeably visible, trying to poke through his robes.

"Ehm" Xue Yang cleared his throat.

"It's just happy to see you." He winked.

"I'm happy to see it too." She whispered in a heavy voice as she once again pulled him into a kiss.

Her hands started to slip inside his robes as she touched his firm chest muscles and ran her fingers down his chiselled abs.

Xue Yang's hand started to wander too as they explored the curves of the robed Tian Mei.

He gently nibbled her ear causing her to moan.

"Ahh"

"Mhh"

As he moved to her neck his heart rate increased. It was beating like the drums of war as the veins in his neck began to bulge.

The closer he got to her neck the harder it became to resist his urges. He could feel her heart beating heavily in excitement and anticipation.

He could sense every single vein that carried blood around her body as his composure and strength to resist his urges waivered.

Finally placing his lips on her neck he started kissing it, but as he felt her pulse his last string of composure finally snapped and his basic instincts took over.

His vampire fangs extended and he involuntarily plunged them into her neck and started to drink her blood.

"Ahh!"

At first, Tian Mei felt a tinge of pain, but it was quickly replaced by euphoric pleasure as she slowly drifted out of consciousness.

Moments later Xue Yang managed to stop himself, but unfortunately, it was already too late.

[☆Bloodlust lvl 5☆]

While his bloodlust level fell to a manageable point and life and energy surged back into him, the same couldn't be said for Tian Mei.

Her skin became deathly pale as her heartbeat became slower and slower.

He knew that it was already too late for her. Even if he tried turning Tian Mei into a vampire, Xue Yang knew that it wouldn't be enough to save her.

Xue Yang's expression became pained as he stared at her wide-eyed. His face was covered in Tian Mei's fresh blood and his lips quivered as he tried to find the right words, but in the end, there was only one word that came out.

"Sorry"

"Sorry."

"I'm so sorry."

His eyes looked like tears would start falling at any second, yet oddly enough nothing came. Despite this, the horror and guilt on his face was clear as day.

Tian Mei, whose life was now like a candle that was burning on both ends, held onto the remaining consciousness she still had.

She forced her eyes open and looked at the pained Xue Yang with a warm and loving smile.

Even though Xue Yang was responsible for her untimely demise, she somehow couldn't bring herself to hate him.

She tried to bring her hand to his cheek but she had no strength left to do it. Noticing what she was trying to do, he helped her put her cold hand on his cheek as his cold large hand rested on her small one.

"You're cuter when you smile." She joked.

This sentence was like a dagger to his icy dead heart. Despite the pain he felt in his guilt-riddled heart, he knew she felt much worse.

"It's okay."

"I can tell that you're a warm and loving person."

"Your expression tells me everything I need to know."

"It's clear to me that you didn't mean for this to happen."

As she spoke her words came out slower with every sentence.

"I-I'm sure you had your own circumstances that you couldn't tell me about."

Her smile increased even more in size as her eyes started to close.

"At least now I can see my family again."

"I missed them more than anything so please don't blame yourself."

Xue Yang continued mouthing 'I'm sorry' as she spoke.

"Before I go, can I ask you for a couple of favours?"

He nodded his head intently as he gently caressed her cheek.

"Anything…"

"Please look after Bai Ling, I'm worried about what will happen to her without me."

"She is a kindhearted child, even if she is a bit mischievous."

"Okay, I promise."

"And for my other favour, could you kiss me and hold me close?"

"I want to die connected to the first and only man I ever fell in love with."

To that, Xue Yang didn't say anything. Instead, he wrapped his arms around Tian Mei. Making sure to gently lift her and hold her closely as their lips connected for the last time.

Seconds later her body became completely limp and with that Xue Yang knew she had passed.

Right now Xue Yang's mind was racing as guilt ate away at him and his soul. The guilt was overflowing as his thoughts spiralled and he blamed himself for everything.

He completely forgot about his denial of his new reality. Instead, he blamed himself for everything that had happened.

It was his fault for creating such a cruel world that TIan Mei's family died. He blamed himself for creating the Heaven Devouring Physique and attempting to unleash the vampire curse on this world for fun.

It was only now that he realized that God might have been right. He was a much crueller god who created a living hell just for his entertainment. A world where the strong lived while the weak perished.

He finally understood that this was his punishment for thinking he was any better. He had no right to judge God under these circumstances.

Yet it's not like he could forgive them either. Xue Yang didn't know if his making of the simulation truly created this world, or if the God of his world made it a reality just to punish him.

No matter the answer. Xue Yang needed someone to blame, otherwise, he might have lost his mind. Subconsciously he rationalized that it wasn't entirely his fault but the fault of the one who put him here.

With that, he made a silent vow in his heart. A vow he intended to keep at all costs even if it took eons. No matter who stood in his way, he'd crush them beneath his feet as he became focused on his one true goal.

Unfortunately, before he could achieve his goal, there were still plenty of things that he had to do first.

Xue Yang wanted to grieve for a moment for the first person who showed him pure and genuine kindness.

But even that wasn't something he was allowed to do.

Suddenly, the bedroom door flew open and was sent flying across the room.

A tall man with short blonde hair and turquoise eyes was standing in the door frame.

He had a scholary aura around him yet Xue Yang could feel immense strength radiating from him. He was nothing like those he had the pleasure of dealing with so far.

He had a handsome face and wore round glasses on it. His robe was pure white with midnight blue designs on it.

He had a furious and shocked expression as in one hand he clutched a beautiful ornate sword, while in the other was a broken half of a life tablet that read 'Tian'.
