The Queen

I sat upon a throne. My head crowned with the weight of an entire species that is so close to falling. My only hope is to intrust a crossbreed. A family friend's daughter to be precise. We both lost our parents to humans. Hers from a fire. Mine from silver stakes. And after 11 years without my parents I have to confine my people to hide in the shadows. There use to be a time when the humans feared us but now they hunt us down one by one two by two. There is only 14,000 of us left. Most were in hiding. "My Queen." My footman said. Breaking through my pondering but not my composer. "She has arrived." "Bring her in and close the door behind you." I commanded. My chest raised and fall as the crossbreed Tsuki bloodmoon entered"good evening Your Majesty" she gave a bow. "Why did you send for me?" "This is dier times. I don't want to do this but I have no choice," I said looking at her full on. "I need you to go hide in the human world." She stiffened " to the people who murdered our parents" she said stiffly. "Yes, there is no other way, if there was I wouldn't be asking you to do this." She gave a low growl. I narrowed my eyes. "The majority of my people are in hiding. And that's where they'll stay until the situation is settled." "And when will it be settled," She spat, "Years, decades, centuries. the moment we all go into hiding is the moment when we yield to the humans." "I know exactly how you feel" I said as I felt my fangs sharping. I stood up. And walked down the steps to her. "I don't want to send my people to those murders but I have no choice. Our numbers are declining and if I act irrationally our race will become extinct. Now you will go into hiding. Unlike the others you will have a mission to fulfill." I said and walked back to my throne. I turned around. "Sneak into those peoples hearts and find both their strengths and weaknesses. Then when I call, you will make a full report to me and with that we will destroy them." She gave an evil smile. "And while I'm infiltrating what are you going to do?" "Getting my people prepared for the end of human reign." I said as I sat down and crossed my legs with a smile.
