Vermillion

In the year 2176 a meteor crashed into Mars, over twenty kilometers long and its impact swept across the surface of the red planet, sending a surreal amount of sand and stones thrown out of its orbit and some debris bombarded the earth causing. The countries that survived this catastrophe set aside their own personal interests and worked side by side to solve this problem, cities were stabilized and chaos controlled, religious fanatics spreading discord among the population were arrested and sentenced to execution, It was great news that the ozone layer did not suffer much damage.

In the year 2188, twelve years after the event known as the Martian bombing, signatures of unknown energies were captured from the red planet.

An intense debate took place to explain the origins of these signatures some said that an alien society was making contact with him others said he was god giving a message that showed he was dissatisfied with his creation and others were more down to earth and said that the energy. By the time meteorite was coming from twelve years ago, world leaders agreed and after four years an exploration expedition was sent to the red planet.

The ship contained a laboratory that had all the latest technologies and about fifty crew.

When the exploration team arrived at the meteor, they took a small sample while others analyzed the energy it led. The analysis confirmed that the meteor was composed of two unique elements but its structure was completely different from anything that has been cataloged either in laboratories or in nature.  The present researchers named him Vermillion.

In the year 2277, almost ninety years after the discovery of Vermillion, it was already widely used in everyday life.  Research has shown that it was practically the perfect power generator because only a pound of it had the same energy efficiency that a nuclear power plant would generate in a decade and would not generate any nuclear waste.

Vermillion was classified as passive and active, the asset generated energy, and the passive was used in construction because it had a diamond-like strength and was as malleable as concrete. It was discovered that data and information could be transferred back and forth using it almost instantaneously. This discovery further revolutionized communications systems once again.

In the year 2298, he discovered how often Vermillion emitted and created several telescopes pointing into space to try to locate more of this extremely important material, after five years multiple signals were detected coming from different deep space directions and locations, one  Space mining plan was created with the purpose of acquiring them.

By 3018, humanity had already expanded and was beginning to colonize its own moon after Mars became a large mine.  However these events did not mark humanity in great stigma as it was expected, this year space colonization began with the Cruisers, spaceships that would go to deep space in search of more Vermillion and explore the planets on their way to a possible  star colonization.

The Cruisers carried state-of-the-art technology capable of creating space-spanning portals allowing them to be transported from point to point in a matter of seconds, but for that to happen, a portal must be installed on both sides.

Although it seems quite complicated and confusing this process was relatively simple, the Cruisers did not need much maintenance and only needed their commander to get to the coordinates and install the portals, but their pilots were highly trained and genetically modified to withstand the extremely long journey.  and lonely, but they were ready for this challenge because it meant a brighter future for humanity.
