Blame The World

In the Cafeteria

"Rosalina, I want you to know that I am serious about you. I really like you, and I need you with me. I am not trying to play you, and this isn’t a bid as usual. This isn’t for a week; I want you for you. I am with you because I love you, Rosa. It’s my first time experiencing this, and I want to cherish it. As Celine Dion said, 'Love comes at once.' I don’t want to let go of this. Please, I will never allow you to experience what Lisa experienced. I know I am not perfect, and I have hurt other girls' hearts, internally and unintentionally, but I am a changed man now," he explained as he held her right hand in his, reassuring her as they sat near the glass window.

Rosa's subconscious battled whether to continue this relationship. She didn't want to end up like her parents, constantly suffering over a lost love. She knew how her mother often agonized over her dad, and she didn't want that fate for her future children. Rosa pushed aside the negative thoughts and decided to embrace a life with Luciano cautiously, determined not to rush things. She believed that God wouldn't let what happened to her parents happen to her.

Choosing not to speak, Rosa expressed her feelings by giving him a warm hug and then a kiss, conveying her emotions in that tender moment.

Luciano was taken aback by her actions but couldn't help but smile, realizing he was her first in everything and determined not to let go of this precious gem.

Elsa's Villa

Elsa seethed with anger, deeply upset by Eros and men who treated women poorly. Nora, concerned for her daughter, tried to console her by suggesting she go out to clear her head.

“Momma, how dear he? He is so evil! He’s the worst! I think he’s worse than the man I call my father! Unfortunately, I haven’t seen him beating and raping a woman but I think he’s capable of that because if he can stand and watch someone who loves him and wanted to take her life —he couldn’t say or do anything he’s so cruel.” She said as she strolled the living room up and down. She was in a black hoodie, grey leggings and black socks.

Nora couldn't initially understand who Elsa was talking about since Elsa rarely talked about people in her life other than her parents, Eros, and the characters in her books. Eventually, she realized that Elsa's anger was directed towards Eros. Elsa was evidently furious.

Nora lovingly beckoned Elsa over to the white couch, and Elsa, still fuming, laid her head on her mother's lap. Nora gently played with Elsa's long, soft black hair, attempting to calm her. "I'm sure there must be a reason for why he did what he did," she said softly.

Elsa glanced up at her. "I don't think so, Mom. He's just so cruel," she said bitterly.

Nora tried to offer another perspective. "Remember, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. There is a reason he did what he did. Perhaps he went through something painful, or something else is responsible for his actions."

Elsa's anger intensified, and she got up from Nora's lap. "Don't you dare defend him! No matter what!? Even if he went through something, it doesn't give him the right to treat women like trash. Haven't I experienced bad things too? I did, right? I did! But do I treat people cruelly? No, I don't! Then why should others always blame the world for their misfortunes?" she shouted and broke down crying.

She couldn't understand why she was so emotional. Perhaps it was because she saw her life play out like a drama today before her eyes. She witnessed something so cruel that it scared her, reminiscent of a traumatic event from her childhood happening all over again. Elsa was consistently angry and sad because the man she had fallen in love with had revealed himself to be a monster who treated women poorly.

She learned the hard way she believed what she was also told. It is not good to fall in love- as anything that falls brings. She decided to follow the Bible's principle that says grow in love.

She felt foolish, realizing she had made a mistake similar to her mother's. Yet, what gave her some solace was the knowledge that she wasn't pregnant from their one-night stand.

Or was that truly the case?
