1 The first happy day

Joshua had sat on the corner of a classroom, waiting for his name to be called, many students had known and liked him, he was praised by teachers, his face was considered beautiful, and he was from quite a rich family.

However, none had seen him smile, over three years his expression never changed. It always wore an empty expression, and his blue eyes had no glint in them, almost everyone who knew him also know that his memory had been wiped at the age of 10. They all knew it, however no one really tried to help him develop his new memories, and so for four years he didn't show a single sign that showed his happiness.

"Joshua Riley, your evaluation notes are ready.", his teacher called out to him. He stood up and quickly took the sheets of paper and sat back down. He read the notes and he for once, he left a smile.

"Joshua is recommended to skip ahead 2 school years to be in a class of people on the same age as him. This is because of his abilities and quick learning speed, however it is required for him to study on the material of Grade 8 students as to progress smoothly in the transference.", only this sentence made him smile in the span of 3 years, how did his classmates treat him.

30 minutes had passed and the bell had rung. It was the end of class, end of his 6th Grade and the next time he goes to school is when he is on 9th grade. He left school as quickly as he could to show his parents the evaluation notes.

As he ran towards the school gates, a robotic voice popped up was heard saying, [Thank you students for completing your 6th Grade on the school year 2066-2067!], it was an announcement the school had set up mostly used to tell the students of the allowed exit time.

Josh had left school and entered a red car, he sat at the back and he swiped at the backrest and a blue hologram popped out. He messaged his parents of what happened at school as the car drove itself towards his home.

*****

[10 minutes later, 4:00 P.M]

Josh had quickly opened one of many doors in his house and he entered the living room. The room was large, however the television about was 2 meters in length and height, however that didn't matter right now.

"Look at this, mom!", Josh said elatedly.

His mother had seen his expression and she hugged Joshua, her son had shown joy when in the past, even before his memory was wiped he had wore a sad face, she can finally atone for and forgive herself, the text in the evaluation card did not matter, his son had shown positive emotion and that's what mattered.

[A few hours had passed, 6:25 P.M]

Josh was on the balcony of his room as he waved goodbye to his mother, she works with a night shift as a surgeon. Josh had browsed randomly on his phone and saw something he found interesting, an ad for a game. Not long after his mother left, his dad had came back on a red car, the same car that Josh had used previously.

Ding Dong!!!

He had heard the sound of a doorbell and rushed downstairs to lower the door. "I heard from your mother that you have something to say to me.", his father said as Josh opened the door.

Josh lightly grinned and handed him a piece of paper. "I won't be in the same class as children anymore.", his father had seen the paper and jokingly replied, "You're technically still a child though."

Josh is confused by his father's words and asks, "When did a 14 year old get considered a child?", his father didn't mean that, he meant that Josh had all of his memories erased and they had subconsciously treated him like a child.

"Wait, it's said here that you need to read about all of the material 8th Graders had studied about.", his father said as he pointed at the text on the paper. Josh replied, "Don't worry, I'm a really quick learner aren't I?" Josh said as he pointed towards the side of his head.

His father's face had shown shock, 'You've always talked in a with a blank expression, even this morning, why is it that you're using HER tone of voice and movement?-'

'-No, is it because he can finally release everything he picked up from his classmates? Over 3 years of having classmates means that he heard his classmates speech patterns and actions. It is the case, however why is it only now that you've used these words?'

"Father?", Josh asked as his father's wandered in thought.

"Yes?", His father had asked.

"Can you buy this?", Josh grabbed his father's forearm and lead him to the holographic tv in the living room. It had shown a metallic box?

"What is this?", his bewildered father asked, it was a large rectangular metal box. It had pistons on the back and it was large enough to be considered a small room.

"A capsule, it allows anyone inside it to play V.R games, however the game I'm wanting to play is supposed to release on September 14.", his father sighed and checked it.

[The Capsule is constructed inside a room by skilled professionals, allowing it to bypass doors.]

Seeing the way it was supposed to be constructed he accepted, "Make sure that you enjoy the game when it releases."
