3 Turning Gears

[Akagi's POV]

My heart fills with gratitude for the blessing of being born into the Uzumaki family. The unwavering support of my fellow villagers has been a lifeline in Satoru's care. I never thought raising a baby could be so hard.

Every scream, every cough sends waves of fear through me, reminding me of my inexperience in feeding a child.

Hygiene, once just an afterthought is the only thing on my mind nowadays. I wonder if I've gone paranoid.

Satoru's recent bouts of fever and crying at random instances only adding to my worries. Even Genji-san with all his wisdom has only been able to diagnose pain as the issue without knowing the cause.

(A/N: Genji is supposed to be the elder that rushed inside the Hokage's office in ch1. Forgot to mention there that he is a master of the Kagura Mind Eye Technique and a sensor hence the panic then)

I can't believe how exhausted I am all the time. I wake up feeling like I haven't slept at all, and no matter how much I try to take care of myself, the fatigue just doesn't go away. There are days when I feel like I could fall asleep standing up. And would you believe it? I actually fell asleep on top of a stack of scrolls the other day.

But amidst all the weariness and frustration, there's one thing that never fails to lift my spirits: Satoru. His presence is like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds. Those bright, crystalline blue eyes and that adorable face—sometimes I swear it's like he was sculpted by the hands of the divine themselves.

Hmmm… but do I ask him to call me mama or Big sis.

*Cries*

"Hah... there he goes again," she muttered under her breath, wiping away a stray tear after a yawn. "What do I do with this kid?"

[Satoru's POV]

'What in the Rikudo Sennin's name is wrong with me?' Satoru grumbled inwardly, frustration coursing through him like a river. 'The world looks way too vibrant, and I can hear even a fly buzzing outside the window so clearly. It's been so irritating.'

'And on top of that, it seems Akagi is an absolute noob in taking care of kids,' he continued, his annoyance mounting with each passing moment. 'Why would the Kage send the mysterious child that was found outside the village to an active shinobi with no experience in child care?'

'But dammit, everything is irritating me – my eyes, my ears, my tongue, and skin,' he lamented, feeling overwhelmed by his newfound sensitivity to the world around him. 'Why am I so sensitive to everything?'

In Konoha,

Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, stood with a stoic expression as his students, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzo Shimura and Kagami Uchiha reported on their latest diplomatic mission.

"Tobirama sensei, the Uzumakis are still training the next Jinchuriki, and they've kept her identity confidential," Hiruzen reported.

Tobirama nodded thoughtfully. "That is understandable. We will trust the Uzumakis with that, though I hope they can expedite the process. Mito-sama is very old," he remarked, his voice grave and authoritative.

Danzo, however, persisted with his line of inquiry. "But sensei, I did overhear an interesting rumor about a child that the Uzumakis had adopted."

Tobirama regarded Danzo with a measured gaze. "Danzo, why would that be interesting? The Uzumakis, in general, are known for their kindness," he countered, his voice steady and composed.

"But sensei, think about it," Danzo urged, a hint of suspicion coloring his tone. "Why would the Uzumakis take in a random child without precedent? There has to be something special about him. All I was able to find out was that he had white hair and blue eyes."

Tobirama's expression softened slightly, understanding the underlying implications of Danzo's words. "No need to be too skeptical of the Uzumakis. They are our allies, trusted by my older brother. No matter what, the Uzumakis would not betray us," he reassured, his voice unwavering in its conviction.

"We understand sensei," remarked Hiruzen.

Through the intricate network of traders and travelers traversing the ninja nations, whispers of a mysterious child adopted by the Uzumaki clan began to spread like wildfire, catching the attention of none other than the Raikage himself.

"A-sama, we've received intelligence regarding a child taken in by the Uzumaki. It's believed that he possesses a unique bloodline, prompting their unprecedented actions.

The Raikage's brows furrowed with intrigue as he absorbed the information. "And how did Iwa respond to this development?"

"Based on reports from our spies embedded within Iwa, they don't perceive the child as a significant threat. Their concerns lie more with the overall rise in power of the Uzumaki clan,"

Nodding thoughtfully, the Raikage contemplated the situation for a moment before issuing his next directive. "Contact the fence-sitter and the clam guy. Propose a temporary alliance aimed at striking the Uzumaki clan. But keep the focus on the broader threat posed by their growing strength. The true mission will be to kidnap this child."

The dark-skinned man, his physique resembling that of a seasoned bodybuilder, possessed a reputation that preceded him—a warrior who had triumphed in battle against the formidable Eight Tails. His eyes, gleaming with anticipation, reflected not only his personal ambition but also the collective desire of his village.

For too long, their village had languished in the shadows, overshadowed by the might of Konoha. The acquisition of a new bloodline held the promise of a resurgence, a chance to level the playing field and assert their dominance among the ninja nations.

With a steely determination, he vowed to seize this opportunity, to harness the power of the mysterious child rumored to possess a unique lineage. Victory awaited, and with it, the chance to reshape the destiny of his village.

But only a few realised how this respectable Raikage was reeeeeaaaaaly starting to act like a certain snake bastard and his, ummmmm, peculiar tendencies with little boys.

"Hai," the advisor acknowledged before swiftly departing to carry out the Raikage's orders, leaving the leader of the Cloud Village to ponder the enigma of the mysterious child whose existence had sparked such intrigue and interest among the ninja world.

----------------

"What? So that bastard A wants to enter a temporary alliance against the Uzumaki, and even Kiri is involved. Is he truly threatened by the Uzumaki, or does he harbor some other hidden agenda?"

"Tsuchikage-sama, it appears that he intends to allow our troops passage through their territory to invade Uzushio. However, we're uncertain if he possesses the means to confront Ashina directly, especially considering his past feat of wiping out an entire fleet of Kiri shinobi during the First War."

"For now, we'll agree to it. Dispatch an envoy, accompanied by my son, to finalize the terms of the alliance."

----------------

"Hahaha, so even A is trembling in fear of the Uzumaki, huh? How amusing that the mighty A seeks an alliance against a seemingly insignificant village like Uzushio. It seems our humiliation during the First War wasn't entirely baseless. Send Raiu to handle the intricate details of the arrangement."

(A/N: Hey guys Author here taking more flexibility in filling in info that has not been given in canon. The third Mizukage will be named Raiu Tsukisasu meaning Piercing Thunderstorm)

And so, the gears of fate had begun their relentless churn, set in motion by his enigmatic presence. With each turn, they spun a new narrative, weaving a tale of intrigue and uncertainty. Yet, beneath the surface of this intricate dance, lay the question: would this spiral lead Satoru to greatness, or would it become a haunting specter in the tapestry of his existence? For now, the answer remains shrouded in secrecy, concealed within the depths of time itself.
