1 Prologue

The village of Uzushio was a very pleasant place to live....

It was the home of the powerful Uzumaki clan and a haven for members of the Senju, Uchiha and Hyuga clans who had disagreed with the idea of the founding of a Fire Nation dependent Konoha, as well as various Shinobi and Kunoichi around the world who wished to maintain their independence. It was also a Ninja village located on an island that was difficult to access so it was not dependent on any nation...

And that made it dangerous in the eyes of the Daimyō.

For that reason, in extremely secret meetings, the five leaders of the Elemental Nations, Kage and Daimyō, in heated discussions debated again and again, coming to the conclusion that a fully independent village was a dangerous idea for the world order achieved after the first two Great Ninja Wars. So, it was agreed that to ensure the political balance of the Elemental Nations, Uzushio must disappear.

Except for a few survivors intentionally spared to keep the Uzumaki blood alive and the Fuinjutsu they could steal, their village, along with their customs and everything related to their way of life, would be devoured by fire and destruction, so that the clan could never be reborn....

However, that terrible decision was declared an absolute secret for the leaders of the nations, who would have to act with extreme caution until the operation unfolded... To their misfortune, the Uzushio spy network was able to learn of such an aberration against their existence. The supposed secret operation was already known to their target and the Uzumaki decided that they would not resign themselves.

Despite their good-natured ways, they too had their Ninja pride and would not go down without a fight.

However, not everything was as simple as it seemed....

Under the argument that they were conducting military exercises, naval forces of the Water Nation gradually and strategically surrounded the entire sea surrounding Uzushio. The situation was totally unknown to the civilians and most of the Ninja staff, but the top leaders knew that it was only a matter of time before hell would break loose on their home and everything would be destroyed, since no matter how capable they were, the Shinobi of Uzushio were not likely to survive against the alliance of the best Ninja of the Elemental Nations.

Due to the subtle sea encirclement, a mass evacuation of the people would only serve as a trigger to unleash hell, as in the open sea it would be little more than target practice....

And there was no choice but to die heroically, as they had no allies besides the treacherous Konoha, which was obviously going to stab them 'by surprise'... However, a heroic extinction was still the total demise of their people. For Akahige (Redbeard), the Uzukage (Shadow of the Whirlpool), the Uzumaki could not resign themselves to simply disappearing, but neither could they go for a blind slaughter that would guarantee the total extermination of their people.

After careful thought, Akahige came to a conclusion: to his misfortune, for the moment the Uzumaki Clan without real allies was doomed, but they could well use that to their advantage... Yes, using that genetic technology they had as their top military secret they could create their ultimate weapon, to show the humans that the Uzumaki could also exterminate their enemies, even if it took time.

The world did not know it at the time, but in trying to prevent the Uzumaki from becoming a threat, they had brought about the rise of the worst of their enemies.

The code name for the creation of that weapon that in the long run would become the new future of the Uzumaki after devouring the Ninkai (Ninja World) from its entrails, was Project Spiral... In a grim and grim session with the most prominent researchers of the village in one of the most secret bunkers, Akahige revealed all the details about Operation Vertical, the code name by which the joint work of the villages of the Elemental Nations to annihilate them was known. After several hours of debate and angry discussions, Akahige managed to impose his point of view on the experts.

The first thing in the Spiral Project was to clone a girl named Kushina Uzumaki...

Konoha, in order not to arouse suspicion, had requested that the aforementioned young girl come to the Fire Nation Ninja village in order to replace the elder Mito Uzumaki, the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi, in her task of containing the monster... The Uzumaki in an extremely discreet manner, spied on prominent clan members living outside the village and learned that the legendary Fuinjutsu master knew all about Operation Upright, but her allegiance was already with Konoha. So the Uzumaki considered her a traitor to the clan and she had to pay for it....

Even if it was after her death.

The request was returned with due approval and speed to avoid raising suspicions, so there would be two weeks to work: one in which the answer arrived at its destination and another one in which the envoys of Konoha went to the village for the young girl... So without delay, all the experts of Uzushio got to work in order to give life to the Spiral Project. The first thing was to obtain a DNA sample of the original Kushina, which was not difficult since they put her under a very powerful Genjutsu so that she would not learn anything about the Spiral Project and kept her in a container with special recovery liquid so that she would not have any after-effects either.

Later they created a clone of her to take her place temporarily so that no one would suspect anything.

Then one of the investigators, a member of the Yamanaka Clan, checked the girl's mind to know who her loyalty was with... Sadly, the envoys from Konoha who had visited her, informed her about Operation Spiral and she accepted to be part of the Fire Nation village, since she admired Mito Uzumaki too much and that admiration far exceeded her loyalty to the clan...

They thought of executing her as a traitor, but after analyzing her DNA, the purity of her Uzumaki gene was close to 100% and she had the Kinton (Metal Element), the special Chakra of the Uzumaki that served to contain the Bijuu... To the displeasure of almost everyone, she was the ideal vessel to give birth to their ultimate weapon.

And then they began to see the advantages of it.

Konoha would not suspect Kushina, as she had willingly agreed to betray Uzushio and well influenced by Mito Uzumaki, she would be completely loyal to her village. So they could put their devastating weapon into the heart of the enemy, without anyone noticing....

And if she gave birth to more Uzumaki children afterwards, they would have a high degree of genetic purity so her sentence was decided: to become an Uzumaki baby factory.

Somewhat perversely, they decided that Mito deserved a similar punishment and thought about how to carry it out while the researchers continued to create their ultimate weapon before the deadline... The burning desire of survival for the clan, little by little made the Uzumaki cross barriers and ethical boundaries that were previously considered taboo.

Under the masquerade of performing routine medical tests, in a couple of days, they collected practically the entire gene pool of the Uzushio population... Uchiha blood, Hyuuga, Senju, Kaguya and several others. The titanic work of the Uzumaki scientists was admirable, because on the one hand they had internal conflicts because they broke their ethical codes again and again in their research, but on the other hand they showed passion by being informed every day of the suspicious movements of the other villages that were detected in the surroundings of their home and understood that they were working for their blood to prevail in the world over all the others....

Then, they realized something....

The Uchiha, Senju, Hyuuga, Uzumaki, Kaguya and unnamed clan genes were 100% compatible, as the few flaws that some had, were compensated by the others. It was as if they were a divine puzzle, rather than the simple result of natural evolution. With this new data, they were able to shape with relative ease a nucleus that could maintain the Kekkei Genkai and the virtues of the so-called Rokuchi (Six Bloods). The next thing was to transcribe the entire history of the Uzumaki into a specific gene, which could be queried by the ultimate weapon they were gestating.

Finally they proceeded to choose the best qualities available in the Uzushio gene pool to perfect their magnum opus as well as to give the nucleus unique capabilities...

It was really a meticulous and almost unbearable work, but all the participants of the Spiral Project understood the importance of their work... In two weeks, working without rest thanks to the use of stimulants to maximize their performance, they were able to achieve their goals, selecting the best of the best they had available, planning a grim objective that in a message encrypted in their DNA, a portion of Akahige's sealed Chakra would reveal to the ultimate Uzumaki in the future so that the Uzumaki would launch their counterattack and end up establishing their hegemony in the Ninja world.

The Uzumaki scientists thought of everything: from the compilation of their history, their Jutsu, their traditions... They even programmed that nucleus grafted into an egg of Kushina so that her characteristic trait, her red hair, would be a recessive gene and with a very specific spermicide, the final Uzumaki would be a male: the only two characteristics she would inherit from her future father. Thanks to their advanced genetic engineering technology, everything was going perfectly and even though they would soon almost all be exterminated, it would only be a tactical defeat: in the end they would win the war.

If the Elemental Nations planned to exterminate the Uzumaki for the simple desire to be independent and able to live by their own rules, then the Uzumaki would become an uncontrollable plague that would devour the entire Ninja world...

The leaders of the Elemental Nations would pay for having messed with the people who had chosen the spiral as their symbol and while there would be a temporary pause, in the end the Uzumaki would be the ones to prevail at whatever cost.

Once the great work was finished, the scientists proceeded to implant that modified ovum to Kushina, to then call the clone, subtract the detailed memories of the week lived to fix them in the mind of the original and thus ensure that she would never know what was housed in her body, since she herself would become the first victim of the ultimate weapon... Then the clone had a death decided beforehand, being destroyed in a special liquid to dissolve cells. When Uzushio met its inevitable fate, not even the memory of that artificial life would remain.

The next step was to destroy the enormous complex in which the Spiral Project had been developed, together with all the documents in which the procedures carried out and the final result were recorded. There would only be testimony of all that work in the gene where the entire legacy of the Uzumaki was housed.

Thus, when the unforgivable Vertical Operation developed, the Elemental Nations would not have the slightest idea of the counterattack that their enemies would have prepared... It was also not good to leave that almost fantastic biotechnology within the reach of anyone.

So, with the best fake smile on his face and through his teeth, wishing the best to the Konoha entourage that had finally gone to pick up the little redhead, Akahige dismissed the incubator of the seed of the new Uzumaki clan. No matter how long it took or the conditions, they would only be leaving the world for a little while....

But when they returned, the world would shake from its very foundations.

The Spiral Clan was going to return and devour the world within its whirlwind sooner or later.
