1 Ad
Utopia is the word used to describe a heavenly place where everything is fine and luxury is a given to every person living there
In the year 1832 a steam-punk heaven called "Gor" is one of the mega forces of the world but this "heaven" is sadly surrounded by other so-called Utopias that want to conquer each other and emerge victorious and finally become the king of the world
Even though I said Utopia Gor is far from heaven, that is if we talk outside the capital, outside the capital the country is pretty mediocre but that's fine, it's much better than the place I live
My family and I live close to the borders, where war is something you have to live together, here I see war like a natural disaster, something like rain or earthquakes

"AD! Come down from the attic! We are having dinner!" Ad's mom yelled
Ad quickly got down from the attic where he and his big sister slept in
The reason they slept there was in case of an invasion the enemy wouldn't find them
"What were you doing up there all alone? Did you stare at the ceiling again like yesterday?" Ad's sister asked him
"What? No! I was doing my homework! Plus I like hearing the sound of rain hitting the roof" Ad said as he sat on the table
"It's nice that you are doing the homework I assign you! Sadly we don't have a school that you can attend anymore but my books do too! You only need some basic knowledge after all, all this university crap is meant for people in the capital, not animals like us! We are just meant to die!"
Ad felt despair after witnessing his sister's face after what she told him
"ONA! Don't say stuff like that to Ad! Don't listen to her Ad I will manage to send you closer to the capital in a bit! You simply have to wait sometime until I get the money to send you there!" Ada's mom said as he hugged Ad
"What about me? Am I supposed to stay here?" Ona asked annoyed
"You will go with him! Do you think a boy like him can go alone to the cities?" Ad's mom asked Ona with a confused look
The family of three then started praying
"May god keep us safe another day!"
Everyone then started eating the tasteless soup made out of poorly conditioned vegetables
11:00
That's the time the war started, the sky resembled the night sky but there were no stars in the sky, only bullets, and tank shells flying alongside the bomber planes and the jets, but nothing stood a chance against an Armageddon
An Armageddon is a huge machine that resembles a human and is controlled by a highly trained soldier, these things are highly destructive since they are equipped with rockets and many guns to complement their insane mobility and durability
An Armageddon is usually dealt with by another Armageddon and they usually fight like humans, meaning there is a fistfight between two large robots

The war has become more tactical hence quieter
"Do you think mom will come back from work?" Ad asked Ona while he was sitting under the table
"She always manages to come back from the bullet factory! There is no difference now is it?" Ona asked as she was cleaning the house
Suddenly a loud siren started playing a looping sound
"What is this Ona?" Ad asked afraid
"There is no way... An Armageddon?" Ona said as she gripped her shirt
The earth started shaking, the shaking became more intense after every passing second until the Armageddon finally arrived near Ad's and Ona's house
The Armageddon jumped high and with a fist destroyed a whole tank, a mega-tank at that too
"We have to leave Ad!" Ona said as he grabbed Ad from down the table
"NO! We need to find Mom first!" Ad yelled as he resisted
"There is no time! The enemy has arrived way too close without us noticing! What if they sent an Armageddon too? This house is going to be torn apart and we will be dead! So move your legs!" Ona said as she dragged Ad out of their house
Not long after an enemy missile hit their house making it dust
Many other houses in the village were already destroyed
"DON'T LOOK BACK AD!!!" Ona yelled as she ran as fast as she could while holding Ad's hand
While running in this muddy environment she found their mom running toward them
"Thank god you are alright! Let's leave!" The mom said as she started running with the others
For a moment it looked like they would make it out of there, the bombs behind them started becoming quieter, and the metallic sounds of the Armageddon moving were also silenced
But war is unexpected, war is cruel, war is death
The Armageddon landed in front of them, the head of the Armageddon was destroyed and the capsule where the driver of the Armageddon is was open
The driver was greatly injured
"H-He is coming!" The driver asked as he let out his last breath
Suddenly the enemy Armageddon landed in front of them, the way it landed was like a rocket, fire was coming out of its feet that smoothed the landing of the Armageddon
"What a tragedy! Adam's family running away like a bunch of pigs!" A robotic voice that came out of the robot
The Armageddon then opened revealing a scarred man sitting inside of it
"General Dogma... We are nothing but simple villagers just let us go!" Ad's mom said as she got on her knees
"Why would I let a traitor's family live?" Dogma asked as he climbed down the Armageddon
"Please! They are just kids don't do this to them!" She continued to beg as she held her children in her arms
"Let them go Hera" Dogma said as he pointed a pistol at her head
"NOOO!" Ona yelled as she got in front of her mother
BANG
Everything went blank for Ad, time slowed down so his dead sister hitting the floor took an hour for Ad
"ONA!!!" Heras screamed after witnessing the death of her child
BANG
Ad's mother was shot in the head and died immediately
"MOOOOM!!! ONAAAAA" Ad screamed as he looked at their bodies making sure they were dead...
"You resemble your father kid! I guess that's what will save you from me today!" Dogma said as he smiled
"I will kill you..." Ad mumbled
"What was that kid?" Dogma said with a smirk, he heard what Ad said but he was fooling around with him
"I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!!! YOU HEAR ME!!!" Ad screamed as loud as he could while running toward Dogma
Dogma simply punched Ad making him fall down in pain
But surprisingly for Dogma Ad got up with hatred in his eyes
"You are just like your father kid! Fine, when you grow up I will give you the chance to kill me but you have to get good enough to drive one of these! Good luck becoming one of my next targets kid!" Dogma said as he got into the Armageddon
He then used the engines to the Armageddon's feet to hover away

8 years later
A gentle wind cooled down everyone on this hot summer day, but it was no use, the heat of the hundreds of cars going in a line warmed up the environment
"Do you think he was trained before?" A guy said to his friend who was seated near him
"Definitely! He must have gone to a military school when he was younger, there is no other way for him to have such scars at this age!" His friends replied
The boy they were talking about woke up after hearing their whispers
'The same dream again, huh?....' The boy wondered while opening his teary eyes
"How long until the training camp?" The boy asked the guys that sat across from him
"About 10 minutes!" They answered anxiously
The boy then started looking outside the car carrying them, he simply gazed at the line of cars carrying people for the tryouts of the army
After 10 minutes passed the car finally reached the training camp and every car unloaded all the people in it
"EVERYONE MOVE TO THE CAMP YOU ARE ASSIGNED!!!" A man kept yelling over and over again
'Camp D, it's not far...' The boy thought as he slowly walked toward the camp
"I can't wait to try it out! It will be awesome! I can't wait to try out a jet or an Armageddon! The possibilities are infinite!" A guy said, he appeared to be very excited
The guy was blonde with fluffy hair and blue eyes
'He seems awfully happy...' The scarred boy thought as he looked at the guy
Suddenly the two of them locked eyes
"Hey, you are going to camp D right? I'm going there too! Want to go together? What's your name? Your scars are awesome, how did you get them?" The guys said excitingly
"One question at a time..." The scarred boy said after all these overwhelming questions
"S-Sorry! Let's start with your name!"
"My name is Ad" The scarred boy said
"Ad? My name is Rea nice to meet you!" The blonde boy said
"Rea? Isn't this a girl's name?" Ad asked confused
"What? No dude! This is a totally male's name! You simply never heard of it!" Rea convinced Ad
"What's your reason for joining the army Rea? You don't seem to be in need of money or force to come so why come here willingly?" Ad asked after witnessing how casually Rea acted
"I didn't belong in the city! My father owns a car company and wants me to inherit out of my three brothers! I never liked cars or the company so I refused again and again until one day we had a big argument and I ended up running away from home! Since my passion was physical sports and hunting I decided to join the army, after all, I haven't anywhere else to go!" Rea explained to Ad as he smiled
"I see... Go back home" Ad said as he suddenly stopped walking
"What?"
"You heard me! You don't belong here! Go back home Rea, you don't have to come here for soul-searching the army isn't like spots or hunting, people get killed and you will have to kill people you don't want to, that's what people joining the army do" Ad said with a pissed expression
"N-No way I will go back! I decided what I wanted to do! Plus who are you to tell me what to do? Just because I'm friendly with you doesn't mean you can tell me what to do!"
After the little fight they had Rea walked faster to the camp leaving Ad behind
'Fool...' Ad thought as he continued walking to the camp

CAMP D
Once everyone was inside the camp they were handed a paper, this was a test of knowledge and tested everyone's ability to communicate, calculate, and theorize on the battlefield, the test was relatively hard but even if people didn't pass it they wouldn't be cut out immediately since the most important test in the army was the physical test, this the test that reveals all your efforts and D E T E R M I N A T I O N to join the army
"NOW EVERYONE GO GO GO!!! 3000 KILOMETERS IN 10 MINUTES AND 30 SECONDS! IF YOU ARE EVEN A SECOND LATE YOU WILL GO HOME!!!" The General in charge of the training camp yelled as loudly as everyone started running
'I heard in the past it used to be 9 minutes! Maybe it was impossible to do so that's why they lowered it!' Ad thought as he kept running at an exceptional pace
To his surprise, he saw Rea run almost as fast as he was
'He will probably be tired in four minutes...' Ad thought as he focused on his breathing

Ad had arrived at the inner camp of the D section, the camps went up to the letter K but in the end, it all came down to five big camps
Ad was the first to arrive among the 29 people there
He started with 100...

He saw Rea run as fast as he could toward the goal
10:27 - 10:28 - 10:29
"I ARRIVED!" Rea yelled loudly as he passed the passing line by a second
"I'm surprised you arrived..." Ad said as he tried catching his breath
But after watching the way Rea breathed he was amazed
Rea was still breathing somewhat normally when others were even vomiting
'Who is this kid?' Ad thought as he stared at Rea
"GET UP DEAD BEATS!!! WE ARE NOW DOING 100 METER RUN IN 10 SECONDS!!!" The general said
He was tailing behind everyone with an army car
No matter how exhausted everyone was they got in a line and prepared to run
BANG
As soon as the general fired up his gun everyone started to run, and in this line of 30 people Ad rose up victorious and completed the run in 00:08.7 seconds and was immediately followed up by Rea with a time of 00:09.3 seconds and many others
23 people remained, and most of the people that failed were just exhausted from the run before, if they hadn't run so much before or had a break then they would easily complete the challenge too
"NOW FOR THE NEXT TEST, WE HAVE PULLS-UPS! EVERYONE GET IN LINE AND PREPARE TO DO 25 PULLUPS MINIMUM!" The general said as he put everyone in a line he arranged
Many people completed this physical test and when it was Ad's turn he also cleared the 25 pull-ups and did 14 more adding up to a good 39 military pull-ups
Ad's mind was blown once again after Rea did the pull-ups, 47 total pull-ups
None failed this test
Next up they followed two physical tests of the same nature were 90 push-ups in 2 minutes and 90 sit-ups in 2 minutes with 1 minute break in between
Although this was a difficult set of exercises nobody folded to them
"Everyone state your weight in this paper!" The general said as he presented everyone with a paper
Once everyone wrote down their weight the general came out with a Clark carrying a punch of weights and and bench press station
"Get in line and put your weight in and bench it 10 times, do that and you will come a step closer to becoming a soldier!" The general said with a smile
Once again it wasn't such a hard task for anyone especially Ad since he was a 174 cm lean guy who still had a lot of strength, he weighed 83 kilos but he could also bench 100 kilos so this exercise was a downgrade for him
"Now let's move on to the final physical test! A three-round one-on-one against some of my guys in the army!"
As soon as the general said that a bunch of strong-looking guys came out of the camp
"You will all take on a guy bigger than you and you will have to stay on the offensive at all times! If you fight defensively you fail, if you back down a lot you fail, and if you lose you fail! This is where the real soldiers will be revealed!"
"ARE YOU READY SOLDIERS? PRECISION, DISCIPLINE, VICTORY! THAT'S ONE OF OUR MOTTO HERE! SO MAKE TO WIN SO YOU CAN YELL THIS OUT LOUDLY AND PROUDLY TOO!" The general yelled
Everyone was bumped up and D E T E R M I N E D to win...
