UQ HOLDER FINAL

This is a fanfic with an alternative ending for the manga UQ Holder. Honestly, I wrote this back in 2018, and it was my first work, so I know it has a LOT of mistakes. Also, the manga was still ongoing back then, so many things don't make sense. I originally wrote this in spanish and I'm translating it with an IA, because it's too embarrassing to reread it. Well, I'll just leave it here to anybody who wants to spend a little of their time.

NO REMEDY

- Teacher, are you okay? You just woke up not long ago.

- You worry too much, Boya, I'm fine.

Several hours had passed since Yukihime woke up from her coma. After Negi examined her and found nothing abnormal, he concluded that the emotional burden had been too much, leading to a mental collapse.

- Do me a favor and call Dana. I need to know more about Touta.

- Teacher, there's no need to force yourself. You just woke up a moment ago. It's better to rest for now, and when you feel completely well, we can continue talking about it. If you push yourself and feel unwell again, you'll only make everyone worry.

- You don't need to do anything; I'm already here.

The most powerful witch of all appeared out of nowhere with a couple. Seeing Yukihime in a more stable state, both newcomers sighed in relief while glancing at the ring on her left middle finger.

- Just a bit of information caused you to be in such a state.

- That little was enough for me to understand most of what has happened so far.

- In that case, there's no need for me to say anything more.

- Wait!

Just as Dana was about to leave, Yukihime's voice sounded behind her. This time witch of time couldn't be provoked, and her character was quite special. It could be said that one never knew when she was really serious about a topic or just having a momentary whim.

However, Yukihime couldn't afford to let her go. She felt sad, angry, frustrated, hurt, betrayed, alone. Emotions piled up one after another.

She was an intelligent woman, and she perfectly understood what the words "sealed in a separate space doing the same thing he did to all of you to the world" meant. In other words, for a little over 5 months, he had been locked away in a place absorbing everyone's experiences in the world.

If a person was mistreated as a child, their memories would go away, the scars on their body would disappear, and their soul would be cleansed. The same applied to betrayals, beatings, disappointments, regrets, and more. All of that would vanish from people.

He, whom no one remembers, with whom people who spent time with him no longer possess even a trace of his being. That person is the one suffering for the world, making it a better place.

In one of the many religions of the world, there is a God who is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient—someone who can do anything, see everything, and knows everything. He created humans and loved them so much that when he saw they had become corrupted by sin, he sent his son to the world to serve as a way, and through him, people would find salvation. For this, he was crucified, and the sins of the world would be washed away with his blood.

A beautiful story for some, however, the suffering of a murdered person being enough to save the world falls short. People have been tortured to the point that no one would recognize them, buried alive, dismembered. The same holy inquisition that founded that religion committed countless crimes.

That blood and suffering compared to the suffering of the world throughout human history is simply worth nothing.

If there is a person who has the right to be called the savior of the world, the Messiah, the chosen one, it would be the boy who is now forgotten by everyone and still enduring a pain unimaginable to anyone.

- Tell me how he did it.

- You want to know, but before that, answer me something.

- What?

- Why do you care so much? He is nothing of yours, and your feelings for him are nonexistent. The only reason it affected you so much is that you know what it means to do what he does. But...

- He is important! I just know he is important! I don't understand it. When I saw the recording, it felt like a stranger, someone foreign to me that whatever happens to him won't affect me at all. But still... He and I at some point in time were together. The fact that he is not in me doesn't mean that time didn't record what we experienced together! You are the witch of time! Damn it! You should understand that!

It started with a scream, something trying to confirm something mysterious without explanation that hurt her soul. Trying to explain it to herself with the words coming out of her own mouth.

She longed for him; that confident smile in battle was not forced. He did it for the people who were important to him. And she was one of the people who stood high in his reasons for having come so far.

She wanted him beside her. Because she knew that for those feelings to bloom, the times they spent together had to have been precious, full of laughter, arguments, beautiful words, strong words, fights, and more, to the point where trust between them matured and developed into even more precious things.

She was selfish, very selfish. Because she only thought of herself.

- Important. Surely you loved that tool of yours very much.

- What do you mean by that?

The temperature dropped. Yukihime was angry with those words.

The tension in the room rose, and the others didn't dare to speak further.

- You really have to be shameless. I don't know if you didn't notice it or you don't want to notice it. Touta has the powers of Mars and Venus. Where did he get them? Well, obviously from the couple over there.

- Huh?

- Kity, you and Fate created Touta with the genes of Negi and Asuna. From the moment he came into existence, he was nothing more than a tool to defeat Ialda. Obviously, he wasn't the only one who came out of there, but he was the only perfect result. His brothers and sisters were discarded. One of whom was killed by you, and he witnessed it. She had gone through hell only to be killed by you. Of course, Touta is simple and honest, with a strong mindset. Still, do you think he wouldn't think that if he wasn't the "successful experiment," then maybe he would have been the dead one? While a boy his age thinks about simple things, he realized that defeating Ialda was something you couldn't accomplish on your own.

- ...

- Tell me, isn't there a difference between him and a tool? If it serves you, you keep it, and if it doesn't, you get rid of it. Without its own will. You're right; time does remember what you went through together. It also records all the little changes he underwent, like someone pure learning a truth he was destined to face because that's what his creators decided. And don't think of something like "if he wasn't okay with it, he could refuse." Only someone without value would watch the woman he loves go to fight someone to death. If he was created, then obviously, he realized that defeating Ialda was something you couldn't achieve on your own.

-...

- You say you care, but the decision he made was driven by wanting to reach the "perfect ending" for the important beings to him.

And so, the truth was spoken.

There are many ways to harm someone, directly or indirectly. And sometimes, without realizing it, there is no way to remedy it.

After that, it started with a small drop in her eyes that little by little gathered, more and more until they formed two small streams on her delicate porcelain cheeks, staining them a red color, which made a beautiful contrast.

When a vampire cries tears of blood, he expresses that his feelings have reached total despair. His soul is fragmented and his mind is broken. His sadness can no longer be expressed.

Yukihime knew that, even though neither her mind nor her body remembered it, she hurt someone she loved.

Yukihime knew that he was now suffering something incomparable for her.

Yukihime couldn't die, that was her curse.

Yukihime was sad, so sad that she wanted to give up on her life.

She yukihime wanted to die, but she couldn't.

That day, Yukihime's soul died.
