26 Superior System

The next day.

"Okay. Everything looks fine now I guess?"

He was just done on roaming the whole third floor and taking care of the monsters within. He have gone to each room of this floor, which are beyond destroyed except the floors, and haven't seen anything interesting in it.

In fact, he hated his experience here. There are a lot of creepy crawlies in this floor. Just thinking about their many teeth sends a shiver down his spine.

He was now in front of the nonexistent stairs to the fourth floor. He knows it's where the stairs is located because of the rusted railings, but other than that it's just a broken ceiling and the sight of the skies outside.

"Should I repair it?" He shook his head. "Yeah right."

He felt it's a useless venture. Repairing the stairs to the fourth floor for what?

He isn't going to use it anyway so why bother?

He have just covered the whole third floor because he kept feeling something sinister within it. It is bad because there are those monstrous little critters so he is right to feel threatened by it.

But the fourth floor is not giving any sense of danger. He can't sense anything in there, other than the sound of dust being swept by the wind.

"Right. There is nothing to do here anymore. I should go back to my room."

He turned his back at that area and moves downstairs.

The moon has risen, covering the land in it's dim light. Inside the building, Neil is lying on his bed and is staring at his status.

He has been thinking something as he looks at his upgrades.

"Hey."

["What is it?"]

Both of his systems inquired, their robotic tone is conveying some sort of confusion that he seems to be able to discern.

"I'd like to upgrade the two of you. I wonder if it's allowed?"

He don't know when but he have slowly become accustomed to his systems. Despite their monotonic voice, they are the only ones talking to him. He is seeing them as a person now, someone who can feel and think.

So he didn't want to rip their personalities out and change them into something else. He didn't know what his upgrades can do to something that can think and have a personality.

["Of course, please do so!"]

["Affirmative"]

Hearing the two of them agreeing, he frowned.

"Won't that break your personality or something?"

He really didn't know so is just guessing it.

["Of course not. We still retain our core memories even when upgrading."]

["Negative"]

His systems helpfully informed him while rejecting his ideas. He looks at them in surprise before it turned into a smile.

"Okay. I believe in you."

Then, he focuses on the two of them.

'I think I'm gonna use five upgrades on each of them.'

He looks at the names and felt a bit overwhelmed at it. He don't know what changes and he can't guess what improves.

He is also surprised. The robotic tone of their voice changes. Well, only the ODO, or now the Super Cosmic Pantry have it's voice changes to that of a female one. DF, now the Ultra Dimensional Armillary, still have it's same robotic tone, though there are some inflections in there that he can discern it's emotions.

"Wow.... so... what changes?"

["Let me explain first."]

The SCP (Super Cosmic Pantry) have explained it's new capabilities after being upgraded five times.

It's shop seems to have become the Cosmic Pantry Shop. It seems like it is not just limited from warm food, it can now create any types of food. The best thing is, all of it's food contains special properties that can help anyone who eats it.

Also, it seems like SCP acquired a new function. This function is called as the Heavenly Pantry, which is a personal realm of this system where only the User and anyone he gave permission to, can get inside it and cook the things they wanted within.

Every meal they prepared within the pantry will become superior to heavenly, depending on the skills of the one prepping it. It seems like there are many ranks for food, and superior and above are top tier levels of food.

As for the UDA (Ultra Dimensional Armillary), it have a lot of changes within it's system.

It got a lot of blueprints from it. It is not limited to weapons anymore but anything that have weapon in it. Which means vehicles, fortresses, and even mechanized units are included on it's Dimensional Shop. There are even magical weapons in it's arsenal.

The great changes makes him become very excited and shocked at the same time. He expected it, but it seems like his imagination is lacking and might have underestimated his estimates.

"Wait. You sound a lot more feminine now. What happened?"

Asking the SCP, it hums in contemplation before responding to him.

["I have become a Superior System, User."]

"Superior System?"

["Yes. Would you like me to explain it?"]

When he nodded, the SCP explained it in detail.

It seems like there are rankings within the Systems themselves. The rankings are like these...

Lesser Systems are those who truly have no personality or even have a mind to talk. It is just a system that is unresponsive and let it's user do whatever it wants.

Usually, it is a weak system and is very limited to what it can do.

Normal System is a System that can think for itself. They have an advanced intelligence that is almost aware of the future with their advance calculations. They can talk though they are fully logical in their steps and have no concept of emotion.

Superior System is where they get their emotions. These type of Systems are becoming closed to a human, and is deeply ingrained with them. This grade is also the first step for a System to materialize and acquire an avatar.

Supreme is where they can possibly interfere with the world. Acquiring an avatar and become free of the limited bonds of their inhuman existence. They are capable of creating their own System that are Lesser in grade, and give it to others.

The Systems they make are limited to their own capabilities.

The other ranks are more amazing, though the details about those are vague even for them. If they upgraded up to the strongest systems, they think they will be able to learn what those ranks can do.

It seems like UDA is getting closer to becoming a Superior System. If he just upgraded them for a bit more, it is possible for them to become a Supreme System.

"I see..." He got deep in his thought at that knowledge. 'In that case....'

"Hey, I think it's my bad talking to you like some objects..."

He felt a bit embarrassed at that. The System just admitted that they are truly sentient and can feel. Talking to them like they are some sort of unfeeling object feels so wrong now.

The two systems seems to not mind. Though he can't just accept it like that.

"You know what, let me give you names. Just for my own satisfaction of course."

["... If that's what you want, User."]

["Understood"]

Hearing them, he decided to think of a name for them.

He can't really think of it right now, so he wanted to think about it carefully. Which means, he is going to do it tomorrow.

For now, he wanted to see the changes on them.

He passes the day browsing through the list and gawking at the ridiculous prices.
