Cultivation
There are sixteen total cultivation ranks, the first eight ranks are called mortal ranks and the other eight are called immortal.
After reaching the eighth rank chronologically(last mortal rank), the rank resets back to one to signify the difference between immortal and mortal.
When referring to someone's rank, I will usually either say mortal rank eight or rank eight mortal for the eighth rank chronologically or I would say immortal rank eight or rank eight immortal for the sixteenth and last rank chronologically.
If I just say the rank with mortal or immortal, think yourself if it would be a mortal or an immortal.
