After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. In an impatient tone, he said, "Yvonne, I hope that you won't do such childish things again in the future. Just focus on getting better in the hospital. I'll send someone to take care of you."

Yvonne felt incredulous when she heard the beeping sound over the phone. She thought, did he really just hang up on me? I literally just attempted suicide and I'm still in the hospital right now, how can Michael be so unsympathetic toward me?
Feeling indignant, she tried calling him again. However, he did not even bother answering this time. When she tried for the third time, his phone was turned off.
