Within the Shadows

It was sunset, loud chatter could be heard from miles out of the city of Mion, many people were walking out of the massive and tall buildings which looked to be made out of a material that glowed once in a while. It was a period in time where humans focused on their newfound talent which was magic and no wonder some people were on flying beasts that were tamed after being defeated.

The sun colored the cloud in a red-orange hue which made it look beautiful. At one particular building, a boy with a hoodie was standing at the edge of a platform. He was breathing heavily as he looked down the city landscape. He has one goal in mind: to kill himself. Why though? Then he finally muttered his final words.....

"I hate my life!" after saying those words he jumped off the building after that it all went black.

It was dark however the boy still felt like he was alive.

"Why am I still alive? This sucks balls!"The boy cursed in a loud voice.

Then suddenly he lost his ability to speak, he felt like he still had a body but then was frozen in place but he could only move his eyes. This feeling was like that of a person going through sleep paralysis. He was paranoid as it was his first time experiencing it, what made him more paranoid was the sound of footsteps coming from behind him.

"Little, little boy. Did you try to kill yourself?"A man popped out of nowhere and appeared on the right side of the boy.

"*Snap**Snap* Hello kid can't you talk or something," The man continued, this time confused why the boy isn't talking. He then remembered that he silenced the boy. With a snap of a finger, the boy could speak again.

"What do you want from me? Don't you see I was willing to give my life away?" The boy complained.

"What's your name kid?"

"It's David Werin, now I see you are some kind of divine being so can you do me a favor and kill me real quick thanks!" The boy said in the most pleading tone ever.

"Sadly David, you can't die because of some circumstances that I cannot state but right now you going back to where you jumped and I will give you a bit of an advantage when you return."

"Wait what's your name and why are you giving me another chance?"

"Well you can call me Marcus, and I'm helping you for many reasons,"

"One?"

"You're unattractive to women."

"Damn"

"You're weak"

"You don't have to be that honest"

"And last of all you let a bully takes your crush and send you a video of them having a good night"

"Okay that hurt"

"I know how it feels so take advantage of the gift that I will give you when you return"

Within a flash, the boy was back at the top of the building. He received a message from his phone.

"Don't jump again kiddo and I thought let me give you one of the powers that your favorite MC's got in the novel that you love to read."
