1 CHAPTER:1

Well, it was quite a hectic day at college. My friends planned a boat trip around the rivers of the Amazon forest for exploration and expedition the next day, and they told me about it today. So, I still have a lot to pack and plan for the trip. My friends – Rachel, Abby, Walter, Mason, and Vincent – planned the trip last month but only told me today. They're kind of dumb for not telling me about this earlier. Well, I was angry and disappointed with them, but I said yes before leaving the college because how could I be angry with them? They are my best friends, after all.

Our friendship began in the first semester of our sophomore year of college in a chemistry experimental class when all of us were assigned as a group and chemistry lab partners. We were given an experiment to determine whether the given elements from the periodic table were metals or non-metals. While everybody started to arrange the required materials, Walter broke the flask with acid in it, which destroyed his shoes and trousers. All the guys started laughing at the way he looked, except the girls of the group. Well, I couldn't hold myself back from laughing too because he looked way too fashionable with his burnt clothes. The teacher interrupted and scolded us for such behavior towards him. After that, everybody went back to their work.

After that, we were supposed to check the state of the elements with the help of acids and by heating up the elements. While heating the aqueous solution, these dumb fools created a scene by accidentally burning the documents nearby, which contained important details about the students who were enrolled in the class. This time, the teacher was fuming with anger and suspended everybody except me from the chemistry lab for a month. She spared me because I wasn't responsible for any of it, but she warned me to stay away from them as I was the scholar of the batch. Well, the first fundamental rule of teenagers is to never follow what's said by elders.
