Your Engagement Day

Evan turned his head and then found Flora's ex-boyfriend with his new lover. Even Flora could only stay in place. The sound of the waves pierced her ears.

"What are you doing?" Evan asked with a sharp look.

Valerie smiled sarcastically at the lecturer. She hugged Tristan's arm before answering. While Tristan stared at Flora intently.

"Why are you here? Yes of course we are on a date. There is a resort owned by Tristan," Valerie answered arrogantly.

"Yes. We're dating. And why are you here, Flo? You should just stay at home so you don't bother your lecturer," said Tristan, who instead made fun of his ex-lover.

"Tristan. You are not polite to Mr. Evan," Flora reminded.

"Hahaha. Not polite? Mr. Evan is not my lecturer anymore. You are the one who is impolite, Flo. You troubled your lecturer and even invite him to play," Tristan replied arrogantly.

Evan did not accept the ridicule of the two young people in front of him. "I was the one who invited Flora, not her. And I wasn't bothered at all."

"Don't worry, Honey. We'd better to go," Valerie said while holding Tristan's arm affectionately.

"Yeah. You're right. There's no use in talking with them." Tristan smiled at Valerie's words which always made him happy.

"Oh wait ... Before we leave, there's something I want to give you, Flo. But I don't know if you can read it or not," Valerie giggled before they actually left.

Valerie called a maid from the Tristan family. The girl took an invitation card and handed it to Flora.

"That's our engagement invitation for tomorrow night. You come, okay?" Valerie said.

"Honey. Why did you invite her? My relationship with the Hadley family is over," Tristan protested.

"Oh, Honey. Don't be like that. Even though your relationship is over, at least we have to keep doing good thing to them," Valerie replied spoiled.

"Oh my gosh, Val. You really have no shame!" Darcy suddenly came because she saw Valerie and Tristan were approaching Evan and Flora.

"Oh, here comes the poor pal again." Valerie grabbed two more invitations and handed them to Darcy and Evan.

"I'm not your pal!" Darcy was angry.

"Don't worry. You two are also invited to our engagement party. As long as you don't act close to me at the party," Valerie added.

She and Tristan immediately left them on the beach. Flora gripped the invitation tightly in her hand.

"Don't worry, Flo. You don't have to come if you don't want to," Darcy said and tried to calm her bestfriend.

"No, Darcy. I will come. I will prove them that my family and I are fine without the Tristan family's power," Flora said in serious mode.

"Are you sure?" Evan asked worriedly.

"Yes, Sir. I'm absolutely sure about it," Flora replied. She remembered a beautiful woman who had always been kind to her family. Tristan's mother was indeed different from her son who betrayed their relationship. Flora just wanted to show that her ex-boyfriend was wrong.

"Okay then. Tomorrow I will pick you up with Darcy," Evan said.

"Thank you, Sir."

On her ex-boyfriend's engagement day, Deborah helped Flora dressed up. The woman knows her daughter has just been heartbroken, but she would help her daughter attend such an important event.

"This was no good. Why was only Flora invited? Even their families don't want to accept me as a guest," Gerald protested.

"That's okay, Honey." Deborah comforted her husband.

"Tsk. This time you must be able to thwart Valerie and Tristan's engagement!" Gerald said.

"Wait. Didn't Daddy agree that I should accept Mr. Evan?" asked Flora who was now confused by her father's greed.

"Tristan is much better and richer than Evan! if there is even the slightest opportunity, we must make good use of it!" Gerald insisted.

"Now, go! And don't disappoint me! You should still be able to win over their family!"

Gerald has really gone too far in taking advantage of his only daughter. He was too crazy for power and wealth. Flora immediately left. However, of course the girl would not be able to fulfill her father's request.

Flora attended the party with Evan and Darcy. Her appearance was really beautiful and graceful. This girl was the most beautiful girl in the city. Tristan did not care and he just wanted a hot game in bed with Valerie.

Flora received so many attention of the invited guests when she just arrived. This girl was walking with the lecturer and Darcy. They became the center of attention because the appearance of Flora that was so shining, defeated the Tristan's fiancée. None of the invited guests knew that the only daughter of the Hadley family was now blind.

Valerie looked annoyed at her three guests. Though she wanted to make fun of the Flora. But in fact the beautiful girl became a star in her own show.

"Look at the daughter of Gerald Hadley! She is really beautiful. Very lucky that the man has a very beautiful daughter," a guest said.

"Yes. You're right. She is also smart. She always gets the best grades in her college. What a perfect girl." Another compliment was heard.

Flora could clearly heard the praise. Her father should also see her ability, not even someone else.

"But that's a shock when Flora and Tristan broke up."

"Yeah, that's right. I think it's because one of them cheated."

"Maybe it's Flora. You know that she's beautiful and a lot of men like her," said someone who was Valerie's person.

Now the praise for Flora turned to ridicule. It seemed that Valerie has set the plans.

Flora also had to be patient and she was now sitting among the guests who started mocking her. Evan of course tried to calm Flora with Darcy. Turned out it was really hard to reciprocate the hurt and show that Flora was fine without Tristan.

The engagement ceremony went smoothly. Valerie and Tristan are finally able to exchange rings as a promise before their wedding.

"Flo, I need to go to the toilet for a moment, okay?" said Darcy who seemed to be unable to stand the Air Conditioner that was on in the hotel ballroom.

"Okay."

"Mr. Evan, please take care of Flora!" Darcy continued while looking at her cousin.

"Of course." Evan replied.

Darcy then left. After she left, Evan got a call from his co-worker at college. This man also had to take a temporary leave to receive the call.

"Do you want to be here or come with me out?" Evan asked.

Flora did not want to bother Evan, so she chosed to just sit quietly where she was. Now Flora was completely alone without knowing what was going on around her.

"Excuse me, are you the one named Flora?" asked a foreign woman.

"Yes. Can I help you?" Flora replied as she turned to the source of the voice.

A woman now knew that Flora was blind. A smile graced her face. She herself was Valerie's errand person.

"Mrs. Axelson called you. She saw you earlier and said she wanted to meet you," this woman said.

"Mrs. Anne Axelson?" repeat Flora. She was Tristan's mother who was always kind to her. But because of her blindness, Flora had not greeted him.

"Yes. She is there. I will take you if you want," said the woman kindly.

"Okay. But sorry, actually I can't see. I'm very happy with your help," Flora replied, she was so innocently believed this unknown woman's words.

Flora was led out of the ballroom. Valerie's maid nodded, gave a signal for her. Valerie also gave her signal. Soon the woman had brought Flora into a hotel room.

"Please sit here. Mrs. Axelson will be here soon," the woman assured her with an evil grin.

"Okay. Thank you," Flora said without the slightest suspicion.

Now flora was left in the room. This woman immediately met Valerie.

"Good. I will call some men who want to have fun with my bestfriend. And this is your reward, Flora," Valerie said.

In this room, Flora was still sitting quietly on the bed with her innocent face. She did not know the danger that would come after this.
