Cat and Mouse Duet

5

Once the idea had occurred to me, it grew crazily like wild grass.

"Why don't you take the elevator, Rebecca?"

When the elevator door was about to close, one of my colleagues held the open door button and urged me to come in quickly.

"You go ahead! I'm waiting for someone."

I noticed Howard's car had stopped in the parking lot.

The colleague looked at me in confusion for a few seconds and pressed the elevator's close door button.

At the sight of Howard, I greeted him immediately. "Good morning, Mr. Crawford!"

I didn't care what others thought of me as long as I didn't feel embarrassed.

I raised my head and smiled at Howard sweetly.

As expected, Howard's expression was a little stiff, a flush staining his fair cheeks.

"Good morning!" he said.

Then he pressed the elevator button.

"I'm so happy to see you in the early morning. What a wonderful day!" I exclaimed.
