Chapter 33 - Inventions for Destruction and Salvation of Humanity

"...the Excidium T Warship is made of the remnants from the enemy of the previous war. I know it's been more than 50 years when that war happened, surely you've heard of the Teutherians?" Dr. Rodrick asks.

Getting to learn of his kind, Sleek pursued this conversation with this scientist in the guise of Captain Yi Xuan. "Yes, I've heard of the term, Teutherians."

"Of course you have..." the scientist grabs his cup of coffee that have long gone cold and still took a sip on it.

"...Teutherians, for the first time in human history, were the first life forms that we have discovered that belonged from a different world, and they were the first one to approach us too. It was an exciting discovery for human kind, though that was the case until we have learned of their true purpose when they landed on Earth..."

Sleek continues to listen intently.

Dr, Rodrick looks in its eyes in suspense. "The Teutherian aimed to obliterate humanity so that they can inhabit Earth for themselves, that declared war against all of us right off the bat. So we all fought to defend what's ours. But having to fight against foreign race with their own advance technology and intellect, we struggled through the battle..."

He starts to walk around the room as if he reminisce of this great history. "We were at disadvantage during the first few years at the time. These Teutherians were truly strong and ruthless, they would kill thousands of people every single day. Man, woman, elderly, child, none was ever spared by the hands of those damn invaders!" The scientist slams his hand on the blank part of the whiteboard he was using.

Sleek flinches by his sudden action. "Thanks to them, not only thousands, not only millions, but billions of human brethren were killed! Our population have decreased ever so greatly that humanity might declare its extinction soon. And for a few more years, we kept enduring and improvising our strategies against them! They were almost unbeatable!—"

The way Dr. Rodrick have slowly turned aggressive talking about the past of humanity have given Sleek the impression that this person standing before him is an extraordinarily great storyteller. It got excited to hear of the accomplishments and greatness of its fellow Teutherians from the past.

"—but us humans!... Us humans are not so weak to give up so easily. After years of evolution and continuous advance technological developments, us humans are known to do whatever it takes to achieve our goals for the sake of the future!" Now that the story is revolving around humans, Sleek was quick to lose interest.

"And so, humans have soon adapted to their long running battle against invaders. We came up with the conclusion to fight fire with fire."

"...fire with fire?"

"Precisely. Since it was difficult to fight agains Teutherians by human weapons alone, we have decided to use their weapons against them as well." A satisfied look appeared on the scientist face as he reached that point of the story. "And it was a great success! Within a few years, we were able to eradicate the entire species of Teutherians from the surface of the Earth."

It then made Sleek upset to be reminded of the extinction of its own race. It suddenly recalls the other remaining living Teutherian other than itself, the Queen of Teutherians. Sleek knows that the Queen must be here in this building, and that this scientist knows where the Queen is.

"And by the time we were able to get rid of Teutherians for good, we made good use of what remains. This is where the Excidium T Warship comes in!" Sleek didn't expect that Dr. Rodrick still has more to say.

"I think it would be difficult for you if I explain in detail how this Warship is made, but to put in simple words, the Warship is made up of the Teutherian's material. It's strong and indestructable, a machine that can truly bring down E.D.L." Dr. Rodrick smirks. "Though it's still in progress, and lacks a lot more things such as the Power Source which is the sole material it needs to activate..."

As the scientist proceed to talk to Sleek about the Power Source, he was also engrossed on talking about the great Power Source and how it's going to be used. Meanwhile, a similar individual was also endlessly talking about the Power Source. At the Central District of E.D.L., Captain Wright have reported the success of their mission to Dr. Reize Hilton.

"Wahh! It's been a while since I've seen one up close! The Power Source is so small and pretty, I'd love to have this put on display and stare at it for hours!" Dr. Reize Hilton can't take her eyes off the Power Source right when Captain Wright handed it to her.

"...Dr. Hilton, may I ask what the Power Source contains? How can a small object be the Power Source of a whole region?" Asked Wright out of curiosity.

"Good question!—" Dr. Hilton grins. "—this pretty little thing contains something unimaginable for us humans. Believe it or not, this contains a compact fragment of a Pulsar that emits electromagnetic radiation!!"

"A compact what now??" Wright muttered, clueless of the terms used by this scientist.

"This was discovered from the remnants of the invaders that tried to take over Earth, Rodrick and I had thought a lot of use for this. And this Power Source truly has a lot of potential! 'Til now, it's a mystery how the Teutherians managed to make something so wonderful like this."

"..." At the mention of Dr. Rodrick Wolfgang's name, a bitter smile crossed on Dr. Hilton's face. The two were once known as colleagues and companions, with their genuis combined, the two were unstoppable. They were also the duo that put the humanity's war with the invaders to a stop with their great inventions.

However, the two splits up due to opposing opinions regarding the rising problems during post-war, thus led to the birth of E.D.L. and I.E.A.

Dr. Hilton pockets the Power Source and sighs from the sudden recollection of memories. "Well, that's that. You are now dismissed."

Despite having more questions in mind, Wright takes his leave and left the scientist alone in her facility. Dr. Hilton then takes a look at the finalized blueprint of the project she's been planning to create. "Now we're finally getting to the good part..." she sticks the blueprint on to the wall and took a good look at it.

She takes out a communication device that allowed her to speak with her secretary. "Dr. Hilton, is there something you need me for?"

Grinning while staring at the project's blueprint, Dr. Hilton finally gets to say the words she's been wanting to say for a while after finishing this blueprint. "Yeah, there is. Tell the whole project team to gather right away."

"...Dr. Hilton, are we going to?!—"

"Commence Project Deus Ex Machina!!"
