1 Prologue

*Cough* *Cough*

"Brother… You'll be fine. I'm sure you'll survive this." A desperate cry resounded as a frail and blind boy wept beside the bed of his brother. He couldn't see his older brother - Noah's pitiful state but he could feel the warmth of his body fading.

Many doctors were hired to tend to Noah's condition but it was finally concluded that his disease was incurable. Even with the most High tech equipment, the scans all showed that his body was healthy. Magic doctors even checked his body if any magic related spells were cast on his body but nothing was found.

This left the Magtris Family hopeless and shattered. Noah was the most prodigious offspring the Magtris Family had had since its founder. He was able to awaken his mana core at the age of 5 and could start casting spells at the age of 8… But all their dreams of raising such a capable Mage were shattered right before them.

In a separate room loud bursts of shouts were being exchanged between the Magtris Couple.

"This is all your fault! If you didn't push him this hard, none of this would have happened." Martha Magtris - the mother of the twins bellowed, her face beet red.

"Shut your mouth Martha. I only pushed him because he showed potential, he had a bright future and could have made us even richer than we already are. He was an asset that I invested so much resources in. How do you think I feel after knowing this shocking news?

"And haven't you heard the Doctors, there's nothing wrong with his body but he's still in that condition. For all we know this is a curse from God, so don't you blame me for this!" Franklin Magtris - Martha's partner shouted back.

"Why couldn't we just have been a normal family?! Why did you ruin everything?"

"Why do you keep blaming me for this? I wanted to have a normal family as much as you did." Franklin retorted back.

"I'm done with you and your sh*tty mentality! That boy will die and know that this is all your fault. We're done! I'm sending you the divorce papers tomorrow. So you can rest in agony!" She shouted loudly, before turning around and walking out through the door, slamming it shut behind her.

Franklin sighed, shaking his head.

'What did I do wrong to deserve this?' he thought. At this point, he didn't even want to see his prodigious son's last moments; there was no way he could face his dying investment in the eye and cry over how many resources were wasted on him.

Back in the hospital room next to the parent's, Peter's weeping was becoming more and more uncontrollable as he clasped his brother's hands tightly.

"Don't leave me Noah, please. I'll have no one if you leave. I can't live without you brother." Peter wept, sniffling in between his sentences.

"Peter. Don't be daft. You're a handsome lad, I'm sure girls will be crazy to hang with you. Who wouldn't want to be with a Handsome Blind Guy?

"Brother, please live on without regrets. Life is too short to live on regrets. You have to grasp every opportunity you can and strive for greatness." Noah spoke with his raspy voice, coughing in violently.

"Noah… Please… Don't leave me brother." Peter's face became drenched with tears as he knelt down and moved his brother's cold hands near his chest.

Since young the two were inseparable, and to Peter not only was Noah an older brother to him, but also a role model, an inspiration. Due to Peter's blindness and incapability to wield magic, he was slowly discarded and branded the nickname 'cripple' by his relatives, and his parents also accepted this fact. His days were hell and his only saviour was his brother.

Without him could he really survive?

"Peter. I can feel it. The angel of death is knocking on my door."

"What are you saying brother?! Please…" Peter wept even more, feeling his brother's pulse weakening and the beeping of the monitor connected to Noah getting slower and slower.

"Don't worry brother, I'll always be by your side…"

With that Noah's fading voice finally disappeared and only an unending beep of the monitor echoed throughout the room.

Before he could let out another cry, a burning pain exploded on Peter's neck, making him grab the spot with a loud shriek. It was like someone had pressed a piece of scorching, hot metal against his skin. The heat seared through his pores like acid running into his veins. He didn't know what was happening but after a couple seconds it was over and a black tattoo of an ancient symbol had formed on Peter's neck.

When the pain resided, Peter ignored what had just happened and returned to his senses. He shook his brother's hands and wiped his tears.

"Noah. Wake up brother! Wake Up! No! Why?!" Peter shook his brother's body but no reaction was returned to his desperate efforts.

That's when the sudden realization hit him like lightning, that there was nothing he could do to rewind time and fix things.

His beloved brother was gone… Gone forever…

-6 Months Later-

"Please come in. Come in." The Head Butler smiled, opening the 2 large doors of the Magtris Mansion to the guests.

A woman in her late 30's and 3 children walked through the entrance ignoring the butler. The woman leading the children had a pristine body and fine proportions. Her brown hazelnut hair flowed behind her and she walked with pride.

Her 2 sons and 1 daughter had the same wavy hazelnut hair and green eyes, looking like spitting images of their mother. The 2 sons were of age 12 and 11, named Marcus and Alex. whilst the youngest was only 8 years old - Emily.

"Sabrina! You're here. It's so nice to see you finally!" Franklin walked down the stairs in excitement, before approaching the woman and hugging her briefly.

"It's nice to see you too, Franklin. I've been waiting a long time to finally move in with you." Sabrina kissed him on the cheek, before stepping back and introducing her kids, "These are the prodigy kids I've told you about Franklin: Marcus, Alex and Emma. My 3 little stars."

"It's a pleasure to meet you 3 and I hope you all make yourselves at home; I have prepared everything for you guys and will hope that you make the Magtris family proud by becoming strong mages in the future. I have heard a lot of things about you 3 from your beautiful mother, Sabrina." Franklin said, in a joyous voice.

"We'll be in your care, father." The three kids said in unison, bowing. Calling him 'father' was instructed to them by Sabrina, so they could earn his favour immediately and it seemed to have worked as Franklin blushed a little.

"Okay kids. Go Explore the house. I will have a chat with your mother." Franklin smiled, shooing the kids away so he could spend precious time with his fiancé.

The kids nodded before walking past the new couple and spreading out. The oldest of the three, Marcus, headed upstairs, whilst both Alex and Emma checked out the ground floor.

They came from a reasonably wealthy background but they were never in such a grand mansion as this one.

Meanwhile the three kids explored the house, Peter plugged in his headphones.

"Friday, play my first album." Peter said out loud.

"Yes sir. As you wish." A monotonic voice played from the high tech bracelet on his wrist.

'Friday' was an AI programmed to help everyday people with their lives and almost everyone around the world bought a 'Galaxy Bracelet' - a High tech bracelet invented to replace mobile phones; it came with built in AI (Friday) and even a storage dimension.

With that, music began playing in Peter's ears and he began his workout, starting with light skipping. Since he couldn't cultivate magic like others, he at least wanted to build his physical fitness.

He was extremely weak and frail from the start and after his brother's death, everything went downhill for him.

He lost his appetite to eat and had lost so many kilograms of weight that he could have been mistaken as a walking corpse. Thankfully, the maids intervened and talked him into eating his food. The Head Maid was extremely fond of Peter and became a mother of sorts to him after his real mother had divorced Franklin and left the family.

Now he was slowly regaining his body state, eating regularly and exercising at least half an hour a day. He was 10 years old so he was going to be starting school in a month and half in September.

*Knock* *Knock*

Loud knocks broke Peter's rhythm as he tripped and stumbled forward, luckily he caught himself in time, otherwise he would have crashed into a table.

"Friday Pause Music."

The music paused and Peter asked, facing the door: "Who is it?"

BOOM!

The door was smashed to pieces, making Peter cover his face and protect himself from the flying wood pieces.

"Hey Alex! Look what I found!" A devilish smile stretched across Marcus's face as he stepped into the room…
