The first time I read the synopsis, I was immediately attracted to this novel. Personally, I'm not too interested in the other series because of the concept of the system and also the character development which is quite emotional. but I see a new light in this novel. I hope this novel will be better than the previous series.
To be honest I'm almost to chapter 200 and it's become dull. There's no storyline development, so far the whole thing reads like a combat log with some occasional talking. The MC only develops as a fighter and not a person, and I understand this is a combat story but why introduce other characters and have them travel and fight together if he was just gonna be alone. I've grown so tired of the fights that I just skip them.
Third book in the series, despite it’s brevity I liked it quite a bit. Jake is the “edgiest” of the three heroes but somehow as the edgiest he’s better at friends then Leon and Ryan. I thought that was amusing. I’m sad it’s over already but I’m hoping we get to see a book 4 sometime. As a note for the author, working on reducing some your crutch phrases like “in the end” might be a good idea. Also a one chapter epilogue is kind of a bummer.
