18: Casçade

With the humanoid gone, Nick and his troop moved on, heading to the direction of the beam.

Their troop got in contact with the others and they all agreed to meet there.

They got closer and closer until they reached a place which looked like a cascade of hot boiling lava.

But, it wasn't lava, it was blood!

What the...?

"Help!" Nick heard his mom.

He looked down and saw his mom and sister on a floating piece of rock.

"Mom!" Nick shouted as he tried flying down but the heat sent him floating up where he met Tereq and his troop.

The heat was intense and took controlled over their wings.

"No!" Nick cried.

"What's happening, Tereq?" Erik asked, looking up at them.

"I don't know. The heat is intense. We all tried flying down to get them but ended up getting stuck in the air." Tereq explained.

"Oh, my!" Ruby exclaimed.

"Stop struggling, Nick, it's no use," Tereq told Nick who was struggling to go deeper.

"There has to be a way! I can't leave my family down there!" Nick wailed.

"Wait a minute, if we can't go down, how did my mom and sis get down there?"

"Yeah, that's true." Erik mused, lost in thought.

"Excuse me, ma'am, how did you get down there?" Erik asked.

"We were running through a tunnel when a beast with fangs, long fingers, and a human-like face captured us and ran over here, throwing itself in, along with us. It said that only the body of a demon that could get through. It also said that raiders are kept hear to die of heat. It then left us here, saying it was going to bring the rest of my family here to die along with us." Nick's mom rambled in fear.

"Hmm.. I have an idea. I think we should go get the body of the humanoid beast and carry it down then bring you guys out. Merta, go with Xanda and Reqew to the tunnel we just came out from. About three hundred and thirty metres from here, you will find the body of a beast. Bring it here." Erik ordered to some warriors.

They set out while the others waited.

They soon came back with the demons body.

"We're back, master." They said, taking a bow and lay in the body on the ground.

"Thank you, you may go back." Erik acknowledged them as he picked up the reeking body.

"I'll go get them." Erik said as he dove into the pool and down onto the floating piece of rock.

Nick's mother carried Chloe as Erik carried Nick's mother.

They all came out unharmed.

Next, Erik flew up to the stuck angels and brought them down one after the other.
