The Sneak Attack

When the staring contest reached its peak, with the only sound being the crackling of the scarlet color, finger-width lightning, flickering dangerously around Scarlett, Blake spoke.

"What do you want? If you wanted me dead, there's no need to be so dramatic, or go through all these troubles," Blake said calmly. Having stayed in the prison that houses multiple educated, treacherous, and quick-witted mates, his mind unconsciously developed to notice the hidden details.

"You think so?" Scarlett narrowed her eyes with her red lips curving into a smile that made her look seductive; but dangerous in Blake's eye. The number of lightning snakes increased and became longer and thicker, and the scarlet color, as blood rose, highlighted its beauty, concealing its deadly nature. The crackling of the lightning was becoming a roaring thunder. Blake became nervous, as the roaring of the thunder will attract the attention of the people underground.

Although Scarlett looks like she is 20 years old, Blake couldn't be certain. He found out that people live longer after leveling up.

"You should be 40 years old, if not more. Why are you playing all these games?" Blake asked with a weak smile while giving her the age of the number that appeared in his mind.

"Forty what? I'm twenty-five. Since you want to be a student badly…" Scarlett said while taking out a black metallic bracelet, with a red button and a green button, respectively, on each side. She wore it on his wrist before saying, "...you are going to take the trial test. Note, if you fail, you lose your head,"

'It's all her fault,' Blake grinds his teeth angrily when he thought of Lily's betrayer.

"What if you change your mind when I pass?" Blake asked after a while.

"You don't have a choice but to believe me," Scarlett said coldly.

Right at that moment, the students underground accompanied by the teachers with gold belts reached the surface. They all looked at Blake strangely. It was rare for their principal to touch a boy's hand. Scarlett, who just left Blake's hand after putting on the bracelet, left a misinterpretation of her actions.

"Follow me, everybody!" Scarlett ordered with authority, no longer seductive and mischievous.

Blake felt a hostile gaze settle on him, prompting him to turn. He saw a teacher with an angular face staring at him coldly. Gulping down, he faced the front, no longer meeting his gaze.

After walking for ten minutes, they came to the border of a thick forest with tall trees, with different canopy layers. There were people around, some with tables selling different mystical things.

"You've been briefed about what you're going to come across inside there. Let me repeat, if you die in there, that's your end. Moreover, we can't follow you there. Secondly, bear in mind that you must stay there for 72 hours. Furthermore, you must kill a beast within the time frame; I don't care if it is a newborn, juvenile, or adult. Now, go in," Scarlett said loudly, prompting the students to enter quickly.

When Blake walked past Scarlett, she whispered into his ear, "If you don't kill a beast, you're dead. If you come out before 72 hours, you're dead. And lastly, if you refuse to come out after 72 hours, the bracelet goes boom."

Blake's heart tightened. When they entered the forest, Blake felt the caressing of a mist for a moment, however, it was gone like an illusion.

When he entered, the forest looked the same.

As for why the teachers did not follow, he had no idea. Blake, who was thinking of escaping, picked a direction and walked into the depth of the forest. He chooses the opposite direction the students were taking. However, after walking for ten minutes, he turned and saw Jerry, accompanied by five boys behind him.

"Kid, what do you want?" Blake asked with a raised eyebrow. After finding out a millennium had passed, the way he looked at people, including the principal, changed.

"What do I want? I want your blood to spill, you son of a—" Jerry cursed angrily but got interrupted by Blake.

"Don't bring my mother into this," Blake said coldly.

"Who cares about your mother? Go get that fool!" Jerry ordered.

"I haven't stretched my arms since I woke up," Blake muttered before the battle began.

The first person who ran up to him was greeted by a punch in the face, making him duck, but he met a knee below, which smashed into his face, sending him sprawling.

'Just like I thought. They have strength, but lack experience,' Blake thought, but quickly got rid of that mentality. The rest were experienced. It was as if the first were to make him underestimate them. If he hadn't seen such a scheme before in prison, he would have fallen for it. Blake also noticed that the strange-looking uniform can protect them like armor.

The fight reached its climax, as Blake fought all six, strenuously. Fists, legs, arms, and calves were whacking against each other. Although Blake got struck a few times, they were less painful, compared to what he has been through.

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain on the left side of his abdomen. He looked down and saw the handle of a dagger, with the blade fully immersed in his stomach. This distraction caused a punch to strike his face, sending him sprawling on the ground, faced down. His face became pale. It dawned on him that they were here to kill him. Since they never used weapons in the beginning, he thought they wanted to simply teach him a lesson. His mentality from the 21st century unintentionally affected him.

Jerry used the cover of their intense fight to get behind him, while pretending to be fighting, and performed a sneak attack with the dagger.

"Don, go get him," Jerry said with a wicked grin hanging on his lips.
