Universal Lord

In the year 2100, a VR MMORPG called 'Universal Lord' was officially launched. As the only VR game with a 100% real-world simulation with a full dive-in technology, it quickly took over the entire market in just one month. Because of its special feature through which players could convert their game coins into real world currency and vice versa, all the major groups and corporations began investing heavily into the new VR game. Alex, an average 18 year old who have graduated from school with a handsome appearance, got curious about the new VR game when he watched the game trial. In the end, he decided to finally try it once after being persuaded by his younger sister. But he was dumbfounded when he was activating his innate talent. He actually awakened not just one but three talents. Not just that, but both of them were actually above S grade at that. Alex looked at his talents speechlessly. [ Mysterious Draw (SSS grade) ] [ Absolute Discount (SS grade) ] [ Quadrupal Bloodlines (S grade) ] Alex shook his head and he finally made up his mind with firm determination. "I think it's time to pay it seriously."

The next day.

Alex logged back into the game only to find himself next to a partially built village. He was shocked at the speed by which the ordinary humans worked. But maybe he shouldn't be calling them ordinary anymore.

But after giving it some thought, Alex felt that it was only right as even if they were named ordinary humans, their stats were still a lot higher when compared to humans of the real world.

Alex walked around the incomplete village and found that the seemingly weak looking wooden walls were way more stronger than he thought. At the same time, their craftsmanship was definitely top notch if not the best.

Alex suddenly realised why there was an ordinary column in each altar. It was simply because for building a city much less a nation, troops weren't the only thing that a player needs. The main driving force of a city were not the combat troops but the normal people with auxiliary skills. Only than can it be called a city and not a military camp.

Afterall, if one didn't have people with auxiliary skills then who will be making those houses, who will be making the roads, who will be making clothes, and who will be making utensils?

Only with the combination of people with myriad types of skills could a nation be strong and powerful.

It was indeed a life-long lesson that Alex learnt today. Although he already knew it but it didn't mean that he realised it, and also it didn't mean that he knew how to implement it.

Seeing that the workers were still busy building different structures, Alex didn't bother them but instead walked towards the 10 warriors who were acting as temporary guards.

The reason why Alex called them 'temporary' was that warriors were made for wars, and they may or may not be able to protect someone if they asked to. Hence, the duty of guarding could only be giving to guards who were trained to protect.

It could be said that warriors were the spear of a nation while the guards were its shield.

"What is the situation of the surroundings?" Alex asked after calling towards a warrior.

The warrior mentioned saluted first before replying respectfully."My Lord, the surroundings are safe with all the monsters being below level 9."

The warrior paused for a bit before continuing with a serious tone."Also there is a level 10 boss-class wolf-type monster deep into the mountains."

Alex nodded slightly before asking again."How is its strength like?"

"We would need around 25 warriors to defeat it but we may not be able to guarantee a kill. Also there is a high chance of 50% casualties on our end." The warrior replied after thinking for a moment.

Alex sighed as he knew that it will be quite difficult to take on the boss-class monster with his current strength. Though he could still kill it without any casualties on his end by simply summoning a few strong subordinates from the altar.

But he wouldn't take the risk for now and let it be rampant for the time being, atleast uptil the village was built completely.

Although it is a village for now, Alex knew that he would soon have to replace the wooden infrastructure with that of made by stone. And in the future maybe he could even create cement or something similar to it for an even stronger infrastructure.

Instead of thinking about the future, Alex felt that he should increase the man power to build the city even faster. Hence, he walked towards the human altar and directly summoned 900 ordinary humans and 90 human warriors.

He didn't summon from the other four altars as he had a hunch that they would only be helpful when his city was built or will be close to being completely built.

Just like previously, nine hundred and ninety humans walked out from the altar. Alex didn't give a thought before ordering them to follow the first batch of subordinates.

As he watched the workers working intensely and the warriors killing monsters for their meat, Alex suddenly remembered that he still hasn't named this continent.

Thinking for a second, Alex decided to name it after his soon to be city.

Nightfall Continent.

Alex quickly entered the name into the system panel and a successful notification popped up in the next second.

[ The name 'Nightfall Continent' have been set successfully. ]

Alex nodded in satisfaction. At the same time, his gaze fell on his status panel which showed his current level. Level 8.

Alex suddenly facepalmed himself for his forgetfulness. He was already pass level 5 but he still didn't use his most powerful talent, Mysterious Draw.

He was also excited at the same time for what it would bring him. With excitement, curiosity, and nervousness, all at the same time, Alex tapped on the Mysterious Draw talent that showed 'Available'.

Immediately the system panel changed to that of a mystery box as it started shaking as if something was about to burst out of it.

Few seconds later.

Alex was still staring at the mystery box that was still maintaining its bursting out motion. A sudden realisation dawned upon him as he facepalmed himself for the second time of the day. He then used his other hand to tap of the mystery box.

Suddenly the mystery box looked as if it couldn't hold on anymore as bright golden lights radiated from the small cracks that were forming on the mystery box. After what looked like an eternity, the mystery box finally burst open to dazzling light as a card revealed itself.

The card was entirely golden with blue edges and runic patterns. On the card was a tall beautiful and majestic woman with long wavy blonde hair. The beautiful woman was wearing a white and blue knight's armour with a white fur cloak that flowed behind her naturally. There was also a long blue sword that she held in her right hand while pointing towards the sky.

At the bottom were the words.

The Conqueror - Alice {SSS}

AN: Just here to inform you that Alex does not have a system or something like that. The system panel I am mentioning is the game interface of Universal Lord that every player has.

And thanks for reading!! ;)
