"Eh, eh, eh?" I was still awake, and I haven't entered the VR world. That was strange, since I have the set and-

Oh crap. I forgot to buy a game for it! I'm such an idiot!

I took off the Helix off my head, then I sighed. I went through the trouble of tricking a crook from my favorite store and for what? Losing 200 coins AND a virus that took me months to prepare. Welp, now I'm really in the dumps.

I scrunched my head going to my computer, and as I sat on my chair, I checked on Chrome about any VRMMORPGs I can buy so I can play with the Helix. Although me and Leon are best friends, there are a some differences between us, one of them is that I like playing games, but he doesn't really play them. He's a straight A student, and I'm just a kid who can't even get to class 5 minutes late. I checked some of the games that have the usual RPG settings, like classes, magic, bosses, and all that. When I couldn't find a single one, I shrugged. "I should go to the store to find some games that are 150 coins or below. Until then, I should work my butt of right now." I got dressed into my usual clothes, and went outside of my apartment to go to the card store.

I took the shortcut since I don't want my boss to see me cut my wage, then I arrived the store. I didn't know why people bothered visiting this store, but I'm surprised it still has Pokemon after all these years, you'd think they've given it up by now.

Anyways, I went through the backdoor, where there are all kinds of cards, mainly TCG cards, or solitaire, and they even have Tarot cards, which I may or may have not had a little "accident" the last I tried to read someone's future. Then I felt a sharp tap over my shoulder.

"Well, well, well, look who's late" A feminine voice said. I turned around and found Maria looking at me with a soft smile. Well, soft doesn't even start to describe Maria.

She's Leon's older sister. She is about 6 years older than me, has dark purple hair, which was styled into a left-sided ponytail. She takes my shift in the night, but I could tell that she wants to beat me up for being late. Again.

"Please don't tell that egghead of a boss, he'll kill me!" I whispered, and then she reprimanded: "Fine, but you'll owe me a soda, got that?"

Me: "Fine, fine, whatever"

She then ruffled my hair. I don't know why people liked doing that, my hair is spiky, it's as if I was born a hedgehog. After our little "chat", I went to the counter and started my shift. If was boring as hell as always. I just watch people playing cards against each other, then I sell cards to them, and I sometimes help them, and after an 2 hours, I finally finished my job and went outside. Maria usually fills the manager of the shop (His name is Natsuki) and tells him if I did something dumb or whatnot. I checked the time, and it was 4 P.M.

Great, I still have time to check some CDs at Gamer's Playground and buy a game real quick. I went to the store, and I went to the section that has VRMMORPG CDs. There were dozens of them, all of them had different plots and origins, but they have the same goal: being Number #1.

I went through some of them; none of which had my taste. There were Asian-styled games that represented old Japan or China, like "Sword Master Online" or "Great Wall of China" although the last one sounded a bit weird to be an MMORPG-

Wait, that wasn't an RPG, it's just one of those "Real-Life VR". It's kind of like traveling around the world, but through VR, which saves people the trouble of paying money for planes and stuff.

Anyway, I was about to give up hope when I saw a particular game. I picked it up, and it read "Unital World Online", the picture for the cover looked like something out of Genshin Impact, but more beautiful.

There were some stuff about Unital World in the back of the cover. It said that the whole game was about how there are 7 worlds in the game, each one has it's own speciality, and the players are supposedly newcomers from another world who fight monsters, and to achieve their final goal; which was to travel to the last and final world, and defeat it's king on the top of the holy tree that was the origin of all seven worlds, called the "Yggdrasil".

I was excited. I finally found a game I like, and I was gonna pay for it no matter what.

I instantly went to the counter, and asked the same cashier from last time: "How much is this CD?"

He replied: "It's about 200 coins."

I checked my wallet; I have about 320 coins, an extra increase thanks to Maria. I gave the cashier 200 coins, and he gave me the CD, with no deals, tricks or whatever. I thought maybe he learned his lesson thanks to my virus, but when I looked over and found another guy glaring at him angrily, another theory came to my head, but I don't really wanna explain it.

Anyway, when I came back to my room, I checked on my computer and clicked on YouTube to search: "how to insert game CD into Helix" and I only found like, 1 video.

Since I had no choice, I clicked on the video, and it played for 2 minutes, then I did the same thing the guy in the video did:

I found another small white button on the Helix, and a CD reader popped from a slot I didn't notice on the device. I put the game CD (It will be known as UWO) inside the Helix, and then, I put the Helix over my head.

And now, This time for real, I spoke the command that will let me enter UWO.

I spoke: "System: Start!"

And the whole world became black.
