1 Chapter 1: Ryan Vechnos!

Chapter 1: Ryan Vechnos!

"When Gods descend into degeneracy and become Demons,

When Demons fight for Godhood,

When Faith becomes only a source of power,

When Man challenges Nature, the world turns into a disaster,

When everything will be forgotten,

Only Ashes will remain,

From those Ashes, the Messiah, the Eternal, will rise and return the world to its original!"

Ryan read the verse from the World Bible.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The priest and other students clapped, awed by the emotions evoked by Ryan.

"Your Majesty, it's the Lord's glory that I am able to teach you," The priest complimented Ryan.

A wide smile appeared on Ryan's face as he bowed toward the priest and then the statue at the center of the plaza. It was the statue of a man whose face was blurry, but still, whoever looked at it would feel a sense of kindness. The statue's left hand was carrying a flame torch, while the right hand carried a book, the same as the one in Ryan's and other students' hands.

"Now, who will like to read the next verse?" The priest asked.

In response, all the children, including Ryan, raised their hands. The priest smiled upon seeing such confidence from his students.

"George, you read it," The priest randomly pointed at one of the boys and asked.

George excitedly stood up and began to read the next verse.

"From those Ashes, the Messiah, the Eternal, will rise and return the world to its original!

With a single touch, the element will transform,

The light will be his steed, the darkness will hide from him,

The space will be his servant, the time will follow- "

Pop! Splash!

The recital came to a sudden stop as an explosion rang in everyone's ears and a hot liquid splashed on their faces.

Ryan was the worst hit, as one of his guards had his head explode, who took the shot for him.

Ryan's face grew pale from fright while a ruckus formed in the class. Children wanted to run away when the second shot rang.

Boom!

This time, Ryan got saved by his guard as he pushed him, and the shot hit the wall, exploding into a cloud of dust.

"Calm down!"

The priest tried to calm the children down, but none of them listened to him.

Right at that moment, a man wearing bulky armor appeared in the room. The eyes beneath the headgear were cold as they tried to find Ryan in the crowd of chaotic children.

The man found Ryan; he was hiding behind two guards. Ryan was a child who looked around eight years old. He had blonde hair, shimmering in the sunlight, while his blue eyes were like gems.

When Ryan saw the armored man, he breathed a sigh of relief since the man was there for him.

Ryan Vechnos wasn't an ordinary child. He was the eldest son of the King of the Vechnos Kingdom, making him eligible for the heir title when he reached adulthood.

The armored man stepped forward, grabbed Ryan by his waist, and turned around to leave.

"What about these children? They are my friends," Ryan's voice was trembling when he asked.

The armored man couldn't help but nod in appreciation when he saw Ryan still being kind in such a dangerous situation. But appreciating and following had a difference.

The armored man ignored Ryan and charged outside.

Boom!

Right at that moment, an explosion rang out in the area, throwing the armored man.

The man couldn't let anything happen to Ryan, so he tightly grabbed him, and then the man crashed into the wall.

Ryan's face was drained of blood at that moment as the explosion source was the room, he just escaped. Tears started forming in his eyes as the kids inside the room were all his friends.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

The sound of footsteps rang in the area as the owner of the chaos finally presented themselves. Seven armored men approached Ryan and Ferrick.

"You bastards from the Great Eagle Kingdom had become too arrogant," Ferrick cursed in anger.

If there were two or three in the group, Ferrick would have had the confidence to leave safely with Ryan, but now, he wasn't even sure whether he would survive this or not.

The enemy group had grins on their faces as they didn't respond, but one of the shooters raised his rifle, aiming at Ryan, who was tightly held by Ferrick.

The rifle was a long, sleek weapon crafted from dark-stained wood and polished steel. Its barrel stretched to nearly the length of the weapon, with intricate designs. The stock was smooth, polished wood.

Ryan, who was only a child, didn't understand why people were trying to kill him and his friends. But right at that moment, a wave of pain hit him, and soon he fell unconscious.

After knocking Ryan unconscious, Ferrick stood up, gently placing Ryan behind him.

"I may not survive this, but I promise you, I will not let you leave with two hands and two legs," Ferrick proclaimed, taking out his giant broadsword from its sheath.

The blade was long and wide, with a gently curving shape that culminated in a sharp, pointed tip. The metal of the blade was polished to a high sheen, glinting in the sunlight and reflecting the world around it. The hilt was a crossguard that widened out into intricate, twisting designs. The grip of the sword was wrapped in soft leather to provide a comfortable hold for the wielder. Just from its appearance, the sword looked heavy.

The sword weighed ninety kilograms, and yet Ferrick had no trouble wielding it.

Ferrick wasn't an ordinary human; he was a knight, and a High Knight at that.

The world of Panagea had supernatural in the form of Knights. Out of ten thousand humans, only one could be a knight, so they were rare and strong.

Ferrick was a High Knight, while the enemy group had two High Knights, two Intermediate Knights, and the remaining three were Junior Knights.

Ferrick didn't worry about the Junior and Intermediate Knights, but the two High Knights on the other side were extremely challenging.

Still, Ferrick had no choice but to fight, as Ryan's life was at stake here. If Ferrick wanted to run, leaving Ryan to his fate, he would be able to. But Ryan was loved by the King, and if anything like that occurred, he might be able to hide and escape, but his family would be publicly executed, and Ferrick didn't want such a fate to befall his family.
