Chapter 65

[Location: New York Institute] [3rd POV]

It was the day after Talia and Hope had returned, and a little bit had happened. For one, Talia found out what had happened while she was gone, with the most recent event that had been solved yesterday, being the Seelie woman masquerading as a bunch of different species in order to start a war between the Shadowhunters and Downworlders.

Currently, Talia was in the training room with Isabelle, who wore a rather...sexy gym uniform. With it being a crop top meant to be worn while working out, and tight leggings that showed off her rather…impressive arse.

Dodging a blow from Isabelle, Talia let out a soft chuckle "Are you mad that I left?" Talia asked, as she deflected another punch. She was solely helping Isabelle with her attacking, meaning she herself, was not at all attacking.

"What, no! I'm just annoyed that you didn't tell me, that's all" Isabelle said, not lying very well.

"Really? Or is it that you're annoyed you can't watch me fuck Hope? We both know how much you enjoy watching it" Talila says with a teasing grin, causing the girl to blush, but throw another hard punch, which yet again, was dodged.

"No! It's just that we're friends, and yet you didn't even tell me" Isabelle said with a blush, as she stopped attacking.

Hearing this, Talia let out a small chuckle "Well, I'm sorry Izzy, I would have told you had I known. Also, we both know that we're more than just friends" Talia said, before moving closer to the sweaty girl, and leaning into her ear "Afterall, you enjoy watching me plow Hope's pussy a bit too much for a friend, right?~" Talia said with a seductive purr. Isabelle let out a soft whimper at the teasing, before Talia leaned back.

"Really Isabelle, you can be more open about this stuff, Hope is okay with it" Talia said with a shrug.

"It's not oka-wait…she is?" Isabelle blinked in confusion, as she looked to Talia who nodded.

"Well yeah, why else would she let you watch? And it doesn't seem you mind the idea either, considering how much you enjoy watching" Talia said with a raised eyebrow. "You know what, how about you and I go on a date in a couple of days, just us?"

"I-uh-...okay" Isabelle sputtered slightly, trying to form a proper sentence at the question. Meanwhile Talia was grinning at the response, happy that Isabelle was finally going on a date with her. It was faster than her and Hope, but it made sense with Isabelle's personality, and the way their relationship was going already.

"Where is Hope, by the way?" Isabelle asked, realizing she hadn't seen Hope at all that day.

"Oh she's still asleep, I tuckered her out the last few days, so she's finally catching up on her sleep" Talia replied, a small grin at the tuckered her out part, both of them knowing what she truly meant by that.

"Ah, Talia! I'm glad you're here" A voice cut them off, as Alec walked into the room. "I was wondering if you want to take part in a meeting, between all the downworlder factions…a sort of downworlder council"

Talia blinked at the question, before turning to the man. "And what would I do on such a council? I'm not exactly a leader of some super group or anything" Talia asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm inviting you because of your individual power, not because of you being in a group. All I need to know is, are you in or not?"

"Sure, why not" Talia responded with a shrug.

"Good! Great! The meetings in a few hours, and a representative of each species will be there" Alec said with a happy smile, before walking off, knowing he had a few more people he needed to talk to.

"Well…looks like I've got to go and prepare for that, don't I?" Talia said with a sigh, before turning to Isabelle "This weekend we'll have that date, and don't worry about dressing fancy" Talia said with Isabelle, before leaning forward and pecking her on the cheek.

"See you later~" Talia said with a smirk, before walking off.

A few hours had passed, and it was time for the meeting. Talia was already sat at a seat at a large table, where the other representatives sat. This being Luke, Magnus, Alec, Meliorn a Seelie, Raphael a vampire, and finally Talia herself. With Hope hanging out with Isabelle as of now, probably having some talk about the idea of both of them dating her.

"So, what does this Downworlder Cabinet even mean?" Raphael the vampire asked.

"It means creating total transparency about all Shadowhunter decisions that involve the downworld. The goal is to have weekly meetings here to discuss any updates, questions, concerns" Alec answered.

"Well, I applaud Mr. Lightwood for his progressive thinking" Magnus said with a small smile.

"Becuase you're totally unbiased" Raphael said sarcastically.

"Alec, you are not the first to attempt something like this, but it never works out because the Clave is not willing to compromise" Meliorn the Seelie said.

"But I am. In time, we will be able to reason with the Clave. I'm sure of it" Alec said in response, while Talia kept quiet, wanting to listen to this.

"And what about Valentine? Can this cabinet appeal for his execution?" Luke asked, knowing full well that the Clave would never do that, not until they had the Mortal cup back.

"If this is going to work, we can't start with the impossible" Alec replied, also knowing just how stubborn the Clave is.

"Well that's kind of hard to believe considering the man that massacred our people is sitting in a cell beneath our feet" Luke replied with anger building in his tone.

"Luke, I know you're upset, but we have to be diplomatic about this" Magnus replied, trying to calm the werewolf down, knowing that anger would make the whole situation with the Clave, even worse.

"Diplomacy gets us nowhere. Nothing has changed in 20 years" Luke said as he raised his voice slightly.

"The werewolves aren't the only ones with their vendetta. Everyone has a reason to want Valentine dead. I more than anyone" Magnus replied, getting annoyed with the werewolf.

"And why is that?" Luke questioned, as his tone began to calm.

"You said total transparency. You remember Azazel? Before we sent him back to Hell, he used…demonic magic to put Valentine's mind in my body" Magnus answered.

"So Valentine was walking freely, wearing your face?" Raphael asked, disbelief in his tone.

"Yes, but not for long. He's now back in his cell, for good" Magnus answered.

"This is what I'm talking about. The Clave has to know about this. If Valentine was able to escape, they have to execute him" Luke said, doubling down on his desire for the man to be executed. Which, while it sounds smart, is actually not a very good idea. As without knowing where the mortal cup is, who knows who could find it, and use it?

"The Clave already knows" Talia said.

Alec nodded, before adding "It won't change their minds. What other options do we have?" Alec asked.

"I need to talk to my pack. Excuse me while I make a phone call" Luke said as he got up, while getting his phone out. Talia watched him walk off, knowing full well that he was planning on trying to kill Valentine himself, not that that would work.

"Let's take a recess" Alec said with a sigh, knowing that the meeting wasn't going very well so far.

While Talia just got up with a yawn, finding the whole meeting to be really really boring.

"Well that was boring as hell" She commented, causing Alec's lips to twitch slightly, trying not to smile at what she said, while Magnus openly smirked at her comment.

"So…anyone down for a game of cards while we wait?"

How much longer should we wait until Talia and Isabelle get together? It can be a few chapters from now, or 10. Personally I'm more inclined to after the date, but I want to know what you guys think!
