Chapter 3

This was impossible. Angels are considered nonexistent in this world; that is why vampires rule is place. There is no doubt in my mind that what I have seen was just a dream. Or was it?

"You're talking crazy." I said glaring at him.

He eyed me for a moment then sighed. "Yes, maybe you are right. It was a stupid conclusion," he said as he ran his hand through his hair. I looked at him with suspicion. In all the time I've been here I have never known Sam to admit if defeat. He was too prideful for that sort of thing. "I mean why an angel would decide to possess someone like you?" he said as he began to laugh.

I raised my eyebrow, "and what does that supposed to mean?" I asked a bit offended.

He cleared his throat, "it's evident that you lack… resolve. Angels were considered the most feared and ferocious creatures to walk on Tamos; thus everywhere they went they brought destruction and death. But for some odd reason they called it justice. There is no way an angel would possess a human girl who doesn't know what she wants in life. Angels are direct and they take what they want with force. " He said with a smirk.

Ooh I get it now, he is trying to get me to prove him wrong. But unfortunately I caught on to your little game Sam.

"Yes, I suppose you are correct. I lack resolve and right now I am contemplating on whether or not I should reject your prince." I said with a smirk knowing full well that the vampires down stairs were listening and that included Luc.

Sam visibly shivered and stood up immediately. "You are in so much trouble." He said and flashed away.

I knew what he meant was that Luc is angry and would arrive at any given second. Speak, Luc stood in front of me with a glare that could melt my eyes. I stood there unfazed as he growled at me. "I don't know where this sudden rebellious behavior of yours is coming from, but you need to end it before I step in." he growled, his eyes blackening.

For some reason I felt like he was beneath me. "And if I said no?" I asked with annoyance.

"Don't test me Mia," he said darkly.

I stood up and looked him dead in the eye, "Well we wouldn't want that." I said sarcastically.

He took a dangerous step towards me and I did the same, closing the gap between us. For a second, surprise flashed in his eyes but masked it with his drop dead glare. "I will not hesitate to harm you." He said.

I laughed, "You and me both know you are all bark and no bite. You already killed my friends and I have nothing to lose. What will you threaten me with then, your highness?" I said with venom.

An evil smirk appeared on his face, indicating that he was planning something. "Very well, do what you want. But when you find yourself in trouble; please by all means keep up with that snarky attitude." He said then flashed away in a blink of an eye.

I sighed loudly, "angering that one off was amusing." An unfamiliar voice said from behind me, I turned around and gasped when I saw a blond guy with orange eyes that danced in amusement and held mischief. He seemed to be Luc's age seeing that they have the same physic, he wore a white rob and his had was placed on the sword that hung on his side.

"Who are you?!" my breath hitched, he gave me a toothy grin.

"I am an angel." He stated proudly. Angels don't exist in this world, there was no way. Either this was Luc's way of trying to forcing something that is not there or I have completely lost it. Nope it's defiantly him and his friends, probably Sam's idea. That stupid runt!

I rubbed my head in annoyance, "Listen, I have been through hell and back these last few days and I don't want an extra headache. So please go bug someone else." I said as I went down stairs to the other room. No one was there except for a maid who was cleaning and putting back used books back where they belonged. She saw me and she smiled, I smiled back at her and made my way out of the door.

It was sunny out and I had a date with a chair in the garden under a tree. Someone snickered behind me and I saw the same guy who claimed to be an angel.

"I am not claiming to be an angel. I am an Angel." He said putting his right foot in front of him, his back straight and his fist resting on both sides of his hips, as if he were a super hero. I gave him a bored look, but he smirked.

"You again? If that leech is paying you to do this then you can go tell him to put a stick in it." I said with a scowl as I made my way out of the mansion.

"Who the hell are you talking to?" Luc's voice suddenly said from behind me, startling me.

"What do you mean, your friend is bugging me and now you pretend like you don't see him?" I snapped.

He furrowed his brows, "Have you been pushed to the deep end?" he asked with a little bit of concern. "I should have seen this coming. After all you are a human, fragile and frail." He mumbled to himself.

"What do you mean?" I snapped, why is he pretending not to see this freak?!

"The vampire can't see me nor hear me." The blond said. "Like I told you before Mia I am bound to your soul." He said making me snap and look at him. He chuckled, "if you don't stop glaring at me like that the vampire will think you are crazy." He said.

"And now you are glaring at nothing?" Luc taunted. "Pity… it seems that you are mentally disturbed now." Luc pondered as I glared at him. "Fix yourself up, the ball is in two weeks." He said as he turned around and walked the other way.

Just who is this guy anyway?

"I am an angel, and my earthly name is Azul." He said with a proud voice.

"I am going to guess that you too can hear my thoughts?" I asked annoyed/

"Yes but unlike the vampires, I can block anyone who invades your mind. And they wouldn't even know that they can't reach mind."

That doesn't make any sense. "Okay to prove that you are not Luc's lackey I want you to prove something to me." I said with a smirk. There is no way a vampire would agree to this. I smiled mischievously at him.

"Alright, let's go then." He suddenly said, making his way to the garden.

"Wait how did you know that—"

"You really are stupid aren't you?" he sighed making me frown, "I am inside your head, so I know what you will say." He said in a duh voice, rolling his eyes. "And stop talking to me out loud or else you will raise suspicion that you are half angel." He said.

Me? Half angle? That can't be right. I frowned and looked at him, he was grinning indicating that he could fully well hear me.

"Okay let's take you down memory lane. The white door you saw in your dream, you opened it did you not?"

"Yes?" I was unsure of what was going on. But it just a dream, was it not?

He sighed loudly as we stopped under the big apple tree. "Sometimes we do things unaware, and that is what spiritual power comes from. You actually contacted me with your subconscious mind, and that was possible because of the pain, frustration and the fear you felt." He explained.

I still don't understand.

"Now, do you want to escape or not?" he asked with a smirk. "But be warned, the vampire is watching you closely so by any chance he finds out you've escaped…" he said then paused.

"…then I should prepare for the worst. But don't worry I want to make him suffer like I suffered." I said with a smirk. "And what better way to do that with the soul bond we have." The angel laughed.

"Who would have thought that you'd have so much spunk?" he shook his head.

"Understand, I am not a push over. If someone does something to me, at that moment I may let it slide but when you have been hurt as much as I have, you learn to bear certain things until you have had enough." I said with no emotion.

"I understand you, but to be frank… you don't strike me as a vengeful person."

"That's because I am not. Unlike everyone else, I don't sit down and plan the down fall of someone who did wrong to me."

"But?" he asked.

"But that doesn't also mean I can forgive the pain I've been put through, after all I am human, and I have the right to vent my pain in some way." I said as we sat outside, away from the palace. Azul had put up a silencer so no one can hear our conversation outside.

"You want my opinion?" he asked, I didn't respond so he took it as a yes. "Vengeance is a curse, not only do you make the person who did unjustly to you suffer, but you suffer as well. A vengeful spirit will ultimately die in its own chaos." He said.

"I don't recall asking for your opinion." I said.

"But you have to admit that what I am saying is true. And don't worry, I will always stand by you, making sure you don't do anything stupid."

I smiled at him, "well fact is you haven't proven to be an angel. I still haven't escaped this place yet." I smirked.

"Very well, how about when everyone has let their guard down then we can safely get you out of here." He furrowed his brow, "by the way, where do you plan on going? Is there some contiguously plan or something?"

"…"

"Well?" he asked with a brow raised.

"It's none of your business." I simply said.

He scoffed, "how rude! But know that I can't physically protect you, the best thing I can do is lend you my strength." he said.

"What?" I asked confused, he smirked.

"It's a surprise, I prove to all those who doubted me and called me names… I will in my own way enjoy their humiliation." He mumbled to himself.

"What are you talking about?"

"Hmm? Oh nothing. Shall we go?"

Then an idea popped inside my head. "How about we reschedule this for the night of the ball?" I said with a grinned, he grinned back. "But there is something I am going to need help with."

"I know what you're thinking and I love it" he excitedly said.

How about a little dispute between Vampires and Werewolves?

"No doubt that things are about to be interesting…" I said with a smirk of my own.
