Chapter 1

"Open your eyes Mia." He instructed.

I shook my head not wanting to see the horror and gore. My entire body was trembling out of fear, the smell of blood had invaded my senses and somehow my breathing was uneven.

"Mia I won't ask you again." This time his word were cold and demanding. I knew what was awaiting for me if I opened my eyes, and I was not ready to see what he has done.

"P-please, d-don't make me hate you." I pleaded, my voice was shaking and I felt dizzy. This wasn't true, please let it be a joke. Fate couldn't be so cruel as to give me a mate like him. I lost so many people in my life that it hurts, I don't want to go through that pain again. I could feel Luc's murderous aura, there was no hiding the facts… I don't want to believe he did it. He wouldn't!

"Open your eyes or I'll will rip out your arms!" His voice roared through out the room making me jump in fear. I could hear laughter and whispers and grants of approval. This was my punishment for all the rules I've broken. Whatever happened to my friends is entirely upon my head.

I slowly open my eyes only to see Luc's murderous glares. I was scared to see the person I thought was kind and gentle only to see him covered in droplets of blood, his gaze made want to cower away. His green eyes were unrecognizable, his black hair was tamed in a way I have never seen him style it before. It was evident that he wasn't going to kill me but he was hell bent on scaring me.

He leans dangerously close to my ears and whispers, "Those who defy my orders meet their demise." His eyes were set on something behind me, I followed his gaze only to place my hands over my mouth to prevent me from screaming. I watch with horror as Emily and Tasha's lifeless bodies' on the ground, both had puncher marks on their entire body. They looked unrecognizable, if it weren't for the bracelet charms on their arms I wouldn't have said it was them.

"Are you still going to tell me that I am a liar?" he asked in a stern voice.

I looked at him with teary eyes, eyes full of betrayal, "I told you I am not an Angel!" I said, in return he sighed in aggravation. He was still hell bent on saying I was a Seraph.

He roughly gripped on my upper arm and dragged me out of the ballroom, which was full of his kind. I was too shaken up to protest, the horrid images of my friends invaded my mind. Fresh new tears threatened to fall on my cheeks, Luc forcefully kicked open his bedroom door and threw me in the middle of the room.

"No mere mortal could have opened that door! Tell me how you did it?!" he shouted making me whimper, I remained silent while he watched me like I was his prey. "ANSWER ME!" he shouted causing the entire room to shake.

"You are scaring me. This isn't you Luc!" I shouted back, he seemed taken aback by my words but soon that shock was replaced with a sinister smirk.

He took slow calculated steps towards me. With every step I feared for my life, but something inside me was still telling me that he won't kill me. Hurt me, maybe … kill me no. he was now in front of me, he crouched in front of me then he brought his face until we were nose to nose. "So stupid of you to think that. Did I or did I not tell you not to trust me?" he said making me want to cry even more his voice was dangerously calm, his eyes were now red. "Because you have been living in my house for a couple of months, you think that you can say that you know me?" he said, somehow his words were like daggers shooting straight through my heart.

"I trusted you because you gave me a reason to," I said trying my best not to cry but I betrayed myself.

"Tsk, tsk…" he clicked his tongue as he caressed my cheek. "Don't fool yourself just because we are mates. Yes I can't kill you, and yes you are the only one who has power over me." He said as he observed my face. I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat but it refused to go down, "But never in your life forget who I am. I can hurt you really bad so don't you ever…. Disobey me ever again. Your foolish behavior resulted in your friends death." He said.

I quickly got up and turned away from him. "I hate you." I said as I whipped away the tears in my eyes.

"Get in line… oh and don't even try to pull a fast one. I hope you learn from your mistakes, running away from me will only make the situation worse. Not unless you want to join your friends." He said then he left using is vampire speed.

I looked at my hands, Tasha and Emily's blood were on my hands. This thought made me cry even more, I wailed and as I let myself collapse on the floor. I cried until I couldn't cry anymore, I laid on my back and watched the big full moon out the balcony… seeing it reassured me that no matter how dark the sky is, it will always be lit up by the moon and the twinkling stars.

My breathing was steady, my body was relaxed and my eyelids where heavy. I wanted to sleep but I remembered that this wasn't my room, I was still in Luc's room and I had no intention of sleeping on his bed. I slowly closed my eyes and the Images of the last time I saw my friends played in my mind.

"I'm so sorry," I whispered, triggering a fresh new set of tears to fall. "I am so sorry." I said before I drifted to sleep.

"Mia open your eyes," a voice instructed, when I refused to open them a bright white light made me shoot open my eyes. I looked around for the source but I saw nothing. Maybe I was just imaging it. Thankfully Luc was not here and I really did want to see his face again.

I attempted to close my eyes again but something at the far corner of the room caught my eye. I stood up and went to see closer. What the hell is that?

A little beam of light danced from left to right, it was captivating. Something about it made me feel safe and protected. I reached my hand to touch it but it only disappeared right in front of my eyes only to reappear behind me. I looked at it with curiosity then spoke out a voice out of nowhere.

"You are the Seraph that will shine in this dark world." The voice roared through out the room. I looked at the ball of light it had stopped swaying from left to right.

Then my eyes grew wide when I realized what was about to happen. I quickly dashed for the door only for something to shoot me right in my back. My entire body burned and that's when everything instantly went blank.
