232 The Almighty?

There are times when one unexpectedly gains more than what they set out to achieve. It isn't something that happens often depending on the person in question, but when it happens it makes them happier than they can imagine.

Of course, some people take it for granted when they get something extra, but the ones who have been through tough times wouldn't.

"That was something, wasn't it?" Adam stared at the ceiling.

He had been in a daze since he returned having no idea how much time had passed. Sitting on the sofa with a wide smile as his feet tapped a happy tune on the floor. Things have worked out with Makima, a lot more than he had hoped for.

He still couldn't wrap his head around it but he accepted the progress. After all, conscious or not, it was the result of his actions. If he hadn't taken the initiative to visit her, maybe things wouldn't have reached this point. It showed him how important it was for him to actively chase his dream rather than sitting still, waiting for the proper moment. But now he knew that he had to make the moment.

'I should've done that from the beginning… well… I guess those lessons played an important part too.' As wise men said, failure is the mother of learning. So, his previous mistakes have now become lessons. They taught him what to not do, and there was still much to learn.

So far things have worked out well. He was able to clear things with Rias and Akeno getting their approval to chase his Harem. His wish to stay truthful to them and himself had paid off.

And this truthfulness helped him get close to Makima. Someone who did not understand the concept of love before, but now she was trying to understand it. His words from before and her questions in his absence allowed the conditions to line up.

The game between them wasn't a cat-mouse game by any means. They were two cats chasing one another, and now one of them decided to stop the chase. Even then, this was not the end. He still had many loose ends to tie up.

'I have to visit Ai… and Miyako… what will I say to her?' Adam sunk into the soft couch, trying to think of what he should do so that it worked out for them. After all, he did not want to lose the connections he had made with them, especially after knowing what the two did.

And even after thinking for hours, he made no progress on Miyako. He knew what to do with Ai to an extent, but thinking about how to approach her gave him a splitting headache. As if this wasn't enough there were some more strong-headed women in his life, and those will be much bigger problems when he reaches them.

Getting his harem was tough, but he expected it to be as such.

"It's time to put the same mentality—when I was training to achieve Godhood—into chasing after them, if one try doesn't work I'll try another hundred times, if that doesn't work I'll try a thousand times. I won't stop till they agree." Unbeknownst to him, Adam started to sound like Makima. He even had her unnatural fervor when it came to chasing someone.

But he was far worse than Makima could ever be, not in the way that he would do anything needed to achieve his means with women. The problem was that once he set his goal, no matter what happens, he will keep trying till he succeeds.

He may stumble along the way and even doubt himself, but he will once again run towards his goal with twice the effort when he stabilizes himself. That is how he—a normal human with no extraordinary qualities—had become a God of extraordinary fields which once in a millennium Geniuses could only dream about. This is how he has been for as long as he can remember.

'So, you all better prepare. I am not stopping after just one refusal.' He smirked confidently but they stopped.

"Why do I sound like a creep?" As interesting as that topic was, he wasn't given time to explore it.

—Ring~!!

His ears stood up as the melodious tune rang through the room, his gaze landed on the door that was pushed open. A client arrived at the shop, and Adam was ready to provide her with the best treatment he could.

But as soon as he saw the woman with golden locks and pointy ears, he tried to focus on her beautifully sculpted face rather than her voluptuous body that could give Rias a serious run for her money.

And instead of asking her whether she'd prefer some sweet or spicy snacks along with her tea. He asked her another question, a very important question in his mind.

"Would you like some clothes?"

He tried not to look at the scarcely clothed body of the blonde elf standing before him. Even then his eyes already captured her entire figure without him even trying. Sometimes it wasn't good to have such acute senses.

'The ceiling sure is nice. Maybe I'll push it higher and add a chandelier? Maybe two?' Adam had no idea why she would be dressed in straps of white cloth that barely covered her breasts and groin—a towel would've done a better job than this dress—and the worst part of that she had nothing underneath.

But standing there, the woman did not answer his question. She went down on her knees, the forehead which was decorated by a delicate golden band was now rubbing against the plush carpet. It was like she was paying her respect to God, but in a completely different way than what would be expected from her appearance.

"Oh Almighty, please show mercy to my people and save them… I beg you." She pleaded with a voice on the verge of breaking, but there was a tinge of happiness in there upon finding him.

Adam was put on the spot all of a sudden. He didn't know what was happening and why this woman suddenly did this, the only way to find out was to ask her as making guesses will not help. How she addressed him and her actions would come later, he needed information right now to shift the subject.

He approached her and got down on one knee. Ignoring her fair back and the peachy behind, he spoke up to get her attention.

"Please stand up, this shop is made to fulfill wishes. So, I will do everything I can to help you." From the words so far, it was clear that she was in deep trouble. But that wasn't a problem, he could solve her problems, but first, he needed her to sit down on the couch.

And somehow he had gotten her to stand up and walk towards the sofa.

"Is it alright to sit on the same level as the Almighty?" But this proved to be slightly difficult. The woman's face was devoid of emotion, unlike her voice which was laced with concern, anxiety, and many other things.

"I mean, why are you calling me Almighty?" Adam didn't know what this was about.

He had never been addressed as such before, and realizing it the woman's eyes widened slightly. It was like she found it ridiculous that no one did that, but it was also disrespectful towards him.

"It is because you are a True God. I apologize for not knowing of your grace till now." Bowing her head low, her gemlike green eyes were laced with deep regret for the transgression.

She did not have to do this as someone who was known throughout her world as the Reincarnation of the Goddess. But she had to do that, as the one in front of her was the real one.

Adam did not have much to say to her. She was correct about him being a god and the respect she had for him was also pure. Even then he wasn't willing to continue this topic. Right now, he was nothing more than a shop owner granting wishes.

"Well… sit down for now and have some tea. Tell me if you want something else that suits your taste." Adam said pointing at the table full of treats. He wanted her to calm down and not take him seriously, as that was the best way to deal with the situation.

"I would be blessed to have anything you give me." And she was extremely courteous toward him, her eyes still full of devotion which was sharply rising by the second. But she still sat down as he asked her to and with slightly shaking hands lifted a tea cup.

'I could've never guessed that I would meet the Almighty, in the flesh.' She was happy to know that she was able to connect with him, but the situation was far from ideal and she needed help. Thankfully, Adam was waiting for her to get into the topic.

"So, tell me your name and a little more about your problem?"
