After they were done eating the cake, things came to a halt as the clock struck 8.

Ichigo and Miyako were getting ready to leave for their house.

'Well, I should do that as well,' Adam felt like it was time for him to go as well, he had seen that Ai was doing alright and that was all for now.

"Adam. you want me to give you a lift?" Ichigo asked just in case since Adam surely didn't have a car here yet, so he thought he could drop him to the place he was staying at.

But before Adam could answer…

"Are you going back to the hotel, Mister?" Ai asked as she came out of her bedroom, she had just put Ruby to sleep for the night.

'Where is this coming from?' Adam thought looking at Ai and since she had asked that question.

"Yes," Adam had to agree since he had no other place to go to currently.

And to be honest, he wasn't going to be going to a hotel, he would most probably spend the night walking around aimlessly.

'He's been living in a hotel till now, I guess it makes sense,' Ichigo already kind of expected it since Adam was from an orphanage and he didn't have people he could turn to, not to mention that he still hadn't set down what he came here to do so it was understandable that he didn't have a proper residence.

"So, Mister would you like to sleep for today? I have a spare bedroom," Ai asked Adam making him stop in his steps.

Not just him but even Ichigo and Miyako were stopped in their tracks, This seemed weird to them as well, but Ichigo didn't say anything.

As much as this irked him because of the possible implications this could have if revealed, this was still Ai's house and Adam wasn't some stranger to her.

'And she really must have a good reason to do this,' Ichigo knew that Ai wasn't one to invite just anyone into her house where her kids lived, so asking someone to stay overnight was almost zero percent, not even him and Miyako had done that till now.

"You always said that you disliked hotel rooms and it felt foreign, so I thought you could relax in a place that is similar to home," Ai said as her words were filled with emotion.

'Yeah, Adam was also in the orphanage like Ai, so it was natural that he felt that way, I think even Ai felt that way at one point, but now that she has a home, she wants the people who made her feel at home in the orphanage to also have something similar,' Aqua thought while he was lying down on the sofa, it was weird to think so deeply while he was feeling sleepy because of a silly mistake called overeating.

Ichigo could also understand that point and Miyako had to reluctantly do so as well.

'I don't think she will lie about this,' Miyako didn't know why but it was almost like she chose to believe it, but…

'It is a lie of course~, But I have a good reason for it so you'll forgive me right~? I know you will~.' Ai thought cheerily, if one could see her inner personification they'd see it winking with her tongue stuck out cutely trying to appeal the best she could.

But of course, someone here understood that she was lying.

'I guess it is time for that,' Adam thought as he accepted the offer without much resistance since, 'There is an end to everything I guess.'

It had been a few hours after Ichigo and Miyako left, and currently, Adam was lying in the bed of the spare room.

'I don't feel like sleeping,' It was currently 2 A.M. and he was wide awake in the bed.

After he agreed to the staying over he took a bath and then Ai took one, but there were no more words as she silently took Aqua to bed in her room and then didn't come out.

'But she will surely come to talk,' Adam knew it because that was the whole reason she told him to stay.

And that is why he was awake waiting for her, not that he could fall asleep anyway.

'Well, I thought I could sleep normally again, but guess the sleepless nights will be back soon,' Adam shrugged and then he stood up, the reason for this was simple.

"She is finally out," Adam could feel Ai come out of her bedroom and currently she was in the kitchen.

Adam walked out of his room and went to the kitchen, he could see the fridge's light turned on as the door was opened by Ai so he turned on the main lights.

"Ah!" Ai looked back a little scared but seeing Adam she was relieved but there was still something that she needed to clear.

"I definitely wasn't eating a slice of the chocolate cake because I was curious what it tasted like," Ai had the strawberry cake last night and then couldn't have the taste of the chocolate one thanks to Ichigo hounding her.

So, seeing her in the kitchen at 2 A.M. one might suspect that she was indulging herself now that the nuisance was gone.

Well, one didn't need to suspect anything because...

Adam gestured at Ai with his fingers, he touched the area around his lips and…

"OH!" Ai quickly turned around and checked it herself, she had no idea that cream was smeared on her lips.

'I couldn't notice it because I ate too fast, I mean it was delish but I was caught,' Ai thought as quickly swiped her tongue to get rid of the cream before she turned back.

"Cough Cough* So, What are you doing in the middle of the night Mister? Are you a cake thief~? We don't let them easily in this house just so you know," Ai stood up straight and spoke with a shameless smile.

'Aren't you the cake thief though? But who is going to punish you?' Adam quickly shook his head to get the useless thought out of his head.

There was a reason he was here and that was…

"Didn't you want to talk?" Adam asked Ai and…

'I wanted to talk?' Ai asked herself in confusion, She didn't know what Adam was talking about but looking at his serious face, 'I guess I should play along since I do have some questions, maybe that is why he played along with my lies.'

"I see, so you knew," Ai spoke and Adam nodded like it was obvious.

"Let's go to the living room," The two were in agreement and went to the living room turning on the lights before sitting on the sofa.

No one would disturb the two of them now since the kids would not be waking up till morning, the two weren't going to do something that would wake them up.

"So, how is your work going?" Adam was the first one to ask the question because Ai had the biggest problem of her life come from a person she met during work.

"Everything is going smoothly, it is so good that even I am surprised at how lucky I am, but I guess that makes sense, how can I not be blessed by luck with a face like this," Ai wriggled her eyebrows with a proud expression.

And she wasn't lying, there were no problems at work, everything was indeed smooth, she was getting proper gigs left and right, making connections with her co-actors which helped her even more, her idol career was also going without any hitch, she had fans all over, and she was earning a proper amount right now and was saving up for her kids future.

Currently, Ai was living the best life that she wanted, she was getting everything she could've asked for and more, but…

'Why is it that I can't sleep properly these past few days?' Ai felt even if she had so much, there was something missing.

'And it is something really important, but I can't understand what it is,' Ai thought looking at Adam who was sitting next to her, 'If it is him, he should know, right?'

But it wasn't like she could just ask that question directly since as things stood she herself didn't understand what it was that troubled her.

"So, how is your work going, Mister?" Ai asked with a smile, she asked this question to lighten the mood a little.

Because since it was Adam, he'd either answer with a little embarrassment or he'd laugh.

But the way he answered wasn't what she expected.

"Well, I am in quite some trouble because of my work," Adam said with a small smile and Ai blinked.

'Wait, what could cause a problem for him in what he does?' Ai came up with the answer for it immediately because she knew what he did and….

"Is it…?" Ai couldn't even say it herself as she suddenly felt that her heart had dropped down in her stomach, it was a weird feeling of fear that she didn't know before, and neither did she understand why she had such a reaction now.

But she would soon understand…

"Well, I have a fiancée and it isn't really ideal to be doing this while having one,"
