264 Punishment?

A hot breath left her lips as she gulped.

The contract. With this, he would rule over the Great Tomb Of Nazarick. And if one contract could be made, then there was a possibility for a second.

If a second was possible, then they can make tens, hundreds, thousands...

'We can make these contracts for an eternity!' The moment Albedo watched the white energy enter her body. She felt an unprecedented level of happiness burst out of her. If she wasn't being mindful of him, there was no telling what she would do.

"Now then, let's we meet the rest, shall we?" Adam asked.

"Yes~!" This was just getting better.

'This place looks good.' Adam examined the grand throne room he appeared in.

A lavish red carpet covered the cold Marble floor. It stretched from the entrance to the elevated throne behind him cutting the vast room into two. The high ceiling was supported by pillars that had flags on them. But what stood out the most was the dark and gritty atmosphere this place gave compared to the one behind her.

"I'll gather everyone so they can pay respect to you Lord Adam." Albedo's smile was akin to that of an angel. And he wouldn't have doubted it if not for the white horns that peeked through her hair. But, the main indicator was the negative karma around her.

"Well, if they are doing something important then there is no need to disturb them," Adam felt he wouldn't have to do much.

'She didn't tell me anything that needed my help. So, I'll play the part of leader on the surface and not disturb what they are doing.' Adam summoned a book in his hand.

'With the level of this world, they can deal with the possible problems on their own.' He could access the Codex of this world and find things out.

This world didn't even have an Administrator. So, it wouldn't be mature enough to have beings that can be a problem for this group. As he closed the book she spoke.

"I'll do as you say, Lord Adam." He had a bad feeling when Albedo smiled in that crooked manner.

"I'll assign someone to be your attendant before I leave, please do as you want till everyone arrives." However, her face was back to normal in a blink. So, he decided to let it be.

'It isn't like she would do anything bad,' He shook the thought off, why would she harm her group over doing their job?

He followed her to the iron door on the other side of the throne room, the double doors were massive and thick in size. The sturdy and heavy door had a towering presence. But Albedo pushed them open with her delicate hand. It would one doubt the composition of the doors, but they were the real deal.

That strength didn't surprise him though. The door opened and an equally lavish hallway appeared which caught his eye.

'These are well decorated like those of the greatest empires I have seen in the other world.' Adam nodded in appreciation of the view. The one who made this place had some good taste.

But, before he could step through the doors, something went wrong.

"Greetings Lady Albed—!?" The maid with a black ponytail knelt on the floor. Her face covered in a mixture of happiness and nervousness she spoke to him, "I apologize for not greeting you first My Lord. I'd accept any punishment you bestow upon me."

"…Hmm?" Adam pointed at himself. How did this situation happen exactly? He had no idea. Rather…

'How does she know that I became the leader?' He was sure that Albedo hadn't contacted anyone yet. However, he found the answer soon enough.

"You needn't worry Lord Adam. If we can't even recognize the one our loyalty is owed to, how would we be fit to serve you?" Albedo's calm demeanor didn't match the menacing atmosphere around her as the maid nodded in agreement.

They was dead serious about those words.

'If someone disappoints Lord Adam with their ignorance. They have no place in the Great Tomb of Nazarick.' Her eyes landed on the maid who awaited her punishment with slight joy.

'If they don't show this level of obedience. then I will put them down myself.' She wouldn't allow him to see such disgrace, after what he said, 'This is a test that we must not fail.'

"Well, she did recognize me immediately." Adam came out after Albedo so it was natural that she'd greet her first. And in her defense, he hid his presence very well, "So, there will no need for any punishments."

"I am undeserving of the Lord's kindness." Her serious tone drove in how grateful she was.

'How could I not recognize you? That aura around you… there is no mistaking it… we have been waiting for your arrival for so long.' Finally, the Supreme Being had returned to the Great Tomb of Nazarick.

"Narberal Gamma, you are to show Lord Adam to the royal bedroom, need I say more?" Albedo smiled as Narberal looked up.

"No need Lady Albedo." She knew her duties as a maid. And even if she wasn't a maid she would complete any requests Adam had. The determination in her eyes burned, all those skills she spent years training would now have their time to shine.

"Good." Albedo could understand that. This was their chance to show Adam how loyal they were and to what lengths they'd go for him.

If they mess up this chance then there wouldn't be bigger fools than them. Albedo too had to work on the thing Adam talked about and prove herself, but there was one problem

"You are leaving?" He asked. Albedo froze because of the way that question appeared.

"I-I need to go in person to gather all the Floor Guardians. But if Lord Adam wants… I can stay." Her upturned eyes and the slight shyness caught him off-guard.

'I was asking because she is the one I have a contract with. What's with the weird atmosphere?' Adam coughed and ignored the uncomfortably passionate gaze.

"Well, if it is an important task you need to do it," Even if it would be convenient to have her around in case he runs into others. She had to run this place as the highest authority and inform them of the change.

"…Yes. But, I'll finish everything as soon as I can and come back to your side." Albedo didn't want to disappoint him either, so she gave a deep bow to him and took her leave.

At this point, she wasn't going to call for the Floor Guardians so they could see Adam.

'I have to stop them from rushing over like fools.' She had her work cut out for her. The waves of Adam's return spread throughout Nazarick and she believed everyone felt it even if they were out.

Even then Albedo wanted to make sure that they didn't do anything unnecessary. They had to do exactly what he said.

'I need to gather them all in one place.' If they do anything unnecessary it might upset Adam. And that was the last thing she wanted.
