136 Problems?

'Wait, what could cause a problem for him in what he does?' Ai came up with the answer for it immediately because she knew what he did and….

"Is it…?" Ai couldn't even say it herself as she suddenly felt that her heart had dropped down in her stomach, it was a weird feeling of fear that she didn't know before, and neither did she understand why she had such a reaction now.

But she would soon understand…

"Well, I have a fiancée and it isn't really ideal to be doing this while having one," Adam said while looking ahead, something like this was quite a weird feeling.

He knew that all of this was something he had to do and was something he wanted, and if he was being honest, he knew that if he hadn't he wouldn't even meet Rias leading up to what happened between them if he wasn't doing this.

So, on one hand this job of his led him to meet Rias, and on the other, this job might be the reason that he'll lose her as well.

And yes, he could just avoid the topic and go about things normally without mentioning it to them, but he couldn't do that, not because Rias and Akeno knew what he did, that was beside the point.

Even if they didn't know about this, he wouldn't be able to continue doing this, his conscience wouldn't allow him to do so.

Or more truthfully he wouldn't do it since by doing so not only would he betray them but also himself.

He wanted women who loved him, so why would he mistreat them and sleep behind their backs while they remained faithful to him?

Such hypocrisy wasn't something he'd be able to condone for several reasons. But the main reason was that he'd lose himself, the only wish that kept him going for so long, the desire that made him give up so much, to the point that he even felt disgusted looking at his own reflection.

If he betrayed even that wish, then there would be nothing left to him, 'he' would be gone completely.

'I don't really want that to happen,' Adam thought but then he realized something.

'Why am I even telling this to her? We still need to talk about what she wanted,' Adam was about to turn towards Ai and talk to her about the main reason but, he suddenly felt weight on his arm.

"Did she fall asleep?" Adam muttered looking at Ai leaning on him with her eyes closed.

'I don't want to hear more of that,' Ai was actually acting, the reason for that was simple, she didn't want to continue the topic that was brought up.

'It makes me feel weird, I don't like it,' Ai felt a weird sensation in her heart, it was like he was being crushed as soon as he told her that he had a fiancée, that is why without her even thinking.

Her body just moved and she acted like she fell asleep, but she wasn't planning on leaning on Adam it was just that…

'I don't know, what happened? It just happened…' Ai herself couldn't understand it as well, she wanted to move away if possible but in the end, she went near him on her own.

It was something she had no control over, and now that it had happened, she was fully pressing all of her body weight on him with her head pressed against his shoulder, and now she couldn't move.

Not because it would give away her act but…

'I don't feel like moving at all,' Ai's body felt heavy, it was almost like it was refusing to move even if she wanted to, like she was sinking further.

'It feels just like that day,' Ai felt a similar sensation when she met Adam for the first time, after they did that he slept in the same bed and held her so close to him. It was a feeling that she couldn't forget since that day.

'I ….think ...I understand now….' Ai's thoughts drifted far away as she felt her body sinking in that sense of security.

And because of that combined with how she wasn't able to sleep for long in the past few days, Ai ended up falling asleep in a matter of seconds.

Adam looked at her for a second and then looked ahead once again without moving.

"I guess ...this is why I always fall into trouble," He muttered slowly shaking his head.

In the end, the source of all his problems was he himself.

***

The next morning came quickly for some people and for some it took its time.

For Ai, it was the earlier case, or at least that is what it felt like.

'It feels weird,' She thought tossing and turning with a frown trying to move away from the sunlight that was entering her room.

'I feel agitated,' Ai was feeling the same emotion that had been haunting her for the past few days, it was just that today she was feeling it in the morning instead of the entire night.

'I was having such a good sleep leaned against Mister, what happened all of a sudden? Wait! Mister?!' Her eyes snapped open and what she saw was…

"I am in … my room?" Ai was confused about how she ended up here, she was back sleeping next to Aqua and Ruby, this caused a sudden disconnect in her mind because of what she was thinking before.

This didn't make sense because, How was she here when she was supposed to be sleeping outside on the couch?

'Wait, don't tell me that I dreamed about that happening?' Ai felt her face heating up just from the thought.

'Wasn't there something like you dream about the people you love? No way, right?!' Ai didn't know what to think, she rarely had any dreams and those were always limited to her two kids.

She dreamt about how she'd be with them when they grew up and went to college and even work with them on projects when they stepped into the industry after growing up.

But if what she thought happened last night was a dream then…

"Why did I dream of … that? Do I want… that?" Ai's blush intensified in real-time, for her The dreams were the wishes she had, she had always had dreams about the things she wanted to do with her children, so if that was indeed a dream then…

'No, let me check if it was indeed true or not,' Ai got up from the bed and went in the kitchen at top speed.

She remembers eating cake before talking to Adam so if it was indeed a dream then…

'The cake shouldn't be cut,' She opened the fridge and checked the chocolate cake, in her heart she wanted it to be a dream, not because she was embarrassed of what she did but…

'No, it was real,' Ai could see that portion she took from the cake, it was easy to understand because of how proper one cut was compared to the other one.

She had the cut cake in the dark so it was quite a rough cut, while the other was made by Adam when he was getting Aqua his portion, so there was no way to mistake it.

"It… was real," Ai muttered looking at the cake, she was really focused on this, so focused in fact that she hadn't even noticed the person standing next to her

"Why is the first thing you do in the morning is check If the cake is real or not?" Adam spoke flatly looking at Ai.

"Kya! Mister!" Ai didn't even notice that he was in the kitchen when she came in, she was scared for her life at that moment. Thankfully she wasn't holding the cake in her hands or she would've dropped it.

"Don't shout like I did something wrong," Adam sighed since he was still at quite some distance from her when he spoke, not that he had any intentions to scare her and he'd be really worried if she couldn't notice someone like him in the kitchen.

'Well, did she like the cake so much that she had to come back and check if it was real or not?' Adam didn't know why but this made him chuckle.

'My heart is beating so fast right now,' Ai tried to calm herself down but it didn't work since it wasn't because she was shocked by his sudden voice.

The reason was that since this was real then, not only did she sleep while leaning on him but…

'Mister carried me back to the room, how did he do that?'
