268 I Understand!

"Albedo, why is everyone here?" Adam felt many of the hasty arrivals and gathering as he enjoyed the view on this floor.

They came back after hearing of the new Boss. Abandoning their current tasks and posts they stood before him when he told her not to do this. He never ran an organization before, but he destroyed many. So, he knew that pulling personnel out of their jobs was the worst move even if the organization fell apart. Unless they were doing nothing, and he knew that these people weren't just twiddling their thumbs.

"Lord Adam there is nothing more important for us than you." Albedo's words resonated with the crowd behind her.

Every other task or result turned worthless even if it rewarded them with the world. If their Lord descended then they had to be there to bow their head in his majesty.

"It is as Lady Albedo has stated. For us, this moment is more glorious than everything we could've and had achieved in our measly lives." Demiurge's words got everyone's grunt of approval.

Not a single one of them uttered a lie. To them, this moment became the highest point of their lives. They waited for this for so long and finally, they got to see him.

This did nothing but put more responsibility on Adam. His thought of taking things easy went out of the window. If they came onto him like this then he wouldn't let them go unrewarded. At the moment, rather than fulfilling his contract, he decided to become the leader they needed.

"Fine, I'll give you all a chance." A golden circle spread under his feet and covered the entire floor.

It shone with the brilliance of the sun and enveloped every last one of them.

"Under my name, you'll find glory, salvation, despair, death, life, war, peace, impossibilities, anything you want may be real or not. You aren't bound by the laws of the world or the cycle of life and death. Take everything you want, the only written in your destiny is success." The Circle broke and sunk into their bodies.

The warmth fluttered in their body as they felt like shackles fell off their bodies. Strength filled them as the world changed before their very eyes.

What happened? What was that magic? What did it do? Why did they get stronger? What was this feeling? There were millions of questions raging through their mind like wild horses. Yet, they didn't stop for a moment to think it over.

"Thank You, My Lord!!!" The cheer tore through the roof and cracked the floor.

The army hundred thousand strong gave it their all and the result turned out catastrophic. However, not a single one of them noticed the only thing that existed in their minds was their leader. The words he spoke resounded in their heads as the blessing he gave them reformed their bodies.

"What a rowdy crowd you are." With a swipe of his hand, Adam returned the area to its original form. They had no idea what they did and they never will know of the damage they caused. However, all that didn't matter.

"I'll be in the bedroom for now. Tell me if something needs my attention." He left the coliseum with teleportation.

After he left the first one to stand up wasn't Albedo or any of the Floor guardians. It was Narberal.

"If you'd excuse me, everyone," She rushed to the royal bedroom with all her might, leaving him unattended for even a second was impossible.

No one stopped her, instead satisfied with her passion they nodded in agreement. This level was zeal the basic requirement to serve their Lord. That is why they can't let her one-up them.

"Everyone aside from the Floor Guardians may return to their posts, let us not disappoint Lord Adam." Upon Albedo's words, the army marched back.

They wouldn't let anything disturb him and guard this place to the best of their abilities. This became the standard from the weakest Maids to the strongest Floor Guardians. Everyone would do their best, but before that, some things needed to be clarified.

"Lady Albedo, how did you solve it?" Demiurge poked the question.

Solving that test had become his life's purpose, sleeping, eating, walking, fighting, killing, torturing, no matter what he did it was all to solve this mystery and return to the Supreme Beings to serve them again.

However, Albedo solved it before him. That didn't irk him, yet he wanted to know what he lacked. Why couldn't he solve it? Was he not prudent enough? Or did he walk the wrong path? Could it be that he was unknowingly slacking?

The questions ate at him like millions of ants and tore at his mind. Only one logical reason remained as to why he didn't succeed, and his fears came true.

"We were wrong from the start." Albedo's serious eyes shook them all.

Her words were sharp like knives that drove in everyone's hearts, including her own. They thought too highly of themselves and failed him. Yet, he still came and took them in. And the question still remained.

"How did you do it?" Shalltear felt that Albedo was gatekeeping the truth.

And the unsightly smirk on that gorgeous face pissed her off. She indeed didn't want to tell them, this was a special moment that belonged to her and her alone. She accomplished this alone. Why would she include the blubbering fools that had no part in it? If they wanted it they'll have to think about it for themselves.

"Hmm, if that wasn't a test of our intelligence and reasoning then… then could it be a Trial of Faith?" Thankfully, Demiurge took up the mantle of thinking for the rest.

"How could I lose in the battle of Faith with this damned Harlot?" Shalltear growled, yet all she got back was a chuckle.

"You lose to me in quite a lot of departments." Albedo crossed her arms under her ample bosom and strained the chest area of her white dress.

"Like My Lord would get mesmerized by those sacks of fat. I am sure that my perfect form will please him to no end." Shalltear pushed her perfect-sized chest out.

"Your breastpad is sticking out." However, one comment from Albedo made her cover everything with the parasol.

She frantically checked for the problem. The fear that he had seen it gripped her heart, yet no matter how much she searched Shalltear found nothing sticking out. It was all perfectly covered, when she removed the parasol from her vision she saw Albedo's smug smile.

"Why You!" Furious at the joke Shalltear wanted to tear them apart, but someone stopped the two.

"What are two doing in the Lord's presence?" Freezing air blew out of Cocytus's maw.

His words made them look around with curious gazes. What did he mean by that? He wasn't here anymore, so how was this possible? Or could it be that Adam was near? Shalltear and Aura looked around with glistening eyes and checked every nook and cranny, yet they didn't find him.

"I commend your eye Cocytus." Pleased Albedo showed a smile.

"It is nothing to commend about. Our Lord's presence is so powerful that the places he passes through are forever changed by his lingering aura. And we can't show uncivilized behavior in such areas as it is disrespectful." Cocytus had felt this presence before, but with Adam, it reached another level.

"I see… I understand now!" Demiurge's eyes shined. His body shook in delight as the answer revealed itself after eluding him for so long.
