68 Another Client?

"Hmm, what happened?" Adam asked since Makima's behavior seemed odd.

"…Nothing, it is just that you say a lot of amusing things," Makima spoke in the usual flat voice but if one looked closely they'd see her ears turn a little red.

"Is that so? Haha, I am just saying what I feel," Adam laughed since it really does sound funny in a way.

Who in their right mind would do the thing he did? Probably no one, but he did because he thought it was worth it.

"So, I'll cook some dinner, do you have something you want to eat?" Adam asked and Makima turned to him.

"You can cook whatever you want, I'll eat it," She said and Adam nodded walking out of the room after wearing his pants.

A few minutes later, Makima sat up on the bed and looked to her right.

She silently stood up from the bed and walked towards the mirror with shaky legs, looking at her face with great attention.

'It is funny how I can't become the one thing that you want,' Makima raised her hand and placed it on the mirror covering the reflection of her face.

'You are just wasting your time in the end,' Makima looked at the hot liquid that trickled down her pale inner thighs, it wasn't hard to guess what it was.

There was a reason Makima was so sure she could control Adam at first. It was because he reminded her of Denji.

'A man starved for affection,' Makima came to know that his case was in some ways more extreme than Denji's.

And he was very different from the said person as well, Unlike Denji who was scared to look out of his small bubble of satisfaction because of guilt, he was the type of person who would leave his fate in the hands of someone else because he was scared of making his own decisions.

Adam on the other hand had no guilt… No, it would be better to say that…

'He feels no guilt anymore and…' Makima was able to see something in Adam that was hard to describe, he didn't seem normal in any sense…

"The food is ready," Makima looked over at the door as his voice reached her from the kitchen.

"I am coming," Makima answered as she looked at the mirror again.

'That matters not, what I want is clear, and I will keep trying until I succeed or till he finally decides that it is enough before dealing with me,' Makima thought as she wore her clothes and walked towards the Kitchen ignoring Mochi who was avariciously eating his food, the poor dog was starved for two days.

"Hmm? Makima is that?" Adam narrowed his eyes as he spotted something slimy on her lips.

"It is nothing," Makima quickly swiped her tongue over it with a flat face and Adam blinked before shrugging.

'It must be my imagination,' Adam shook his head, and after eating the two read a manga like usual as the time for the contract ended.

"Well, I'll take my leave now Makima," Adam was about to leave but he stopped…

"If you ever are in trouble, just use the card alright?" Adam said as Makima looked at him unblinkingly.

"Sure, it seems that you are quite infatuated with this form of mine, So, I'll use it to my advantage," Makima smiled and Adam shook his head in dismay.

'This will be a tough one,' Adam thought but smiled nonetheless.

"I look forward to your plans then, Bye," And with that, Adam left the world leaving Makima alone in the room.

Ring Ring*

"Yes," Makima picked up the phone and it was from a caretaker who was looking after the dogs.

[Miss Makima what must I do these puppies all miss you,] The voice seemed rather troubled, and they indeed were in trouble taking care of Makima's dogs which numbered to 20 in her original apartment.

She had specifically bought this house to stay with Adam along with the Dog Mochi so...

"Discard them," Makima said calmly.

[...What?] The voice on the other side was more than just confused.

"I have no need for them anymore," Makima said clearly and continued while petting Mochi who was sitting near her legs, "Sell that house I will not be using it anymore."

And she disconnected the call without elaborating further. But she knew it would be taken care of in an hour.

'I guess, I'll go to work today,' Makima left the house in the morning after spending the entire night in the living room just sitting on the couch unmoving.

And as she arrived at the Public Safety Devil Hunters Tokyo branch she happened to run into two Devil Hunters that she knew.

"Good Morning Miss Makima," The first one was Aki and the second one was…

"Mornin' Miss Makima," A woman with an eye patch greeted her with a smile, her name was Himeno and she was also a team leader in the 4th special division, while also being Aki's former partner during his starting days.

"Good Morning to you two as well," Makima said in her usual tone, which sounded endearing yet surprisingly flat.

"Miss Makima did you just come back from the meeting that you talked about?" Aki asked since he needed to discuss something with her and she nodded.

"Yes, what do you want to talk about? ….Aki?" Makima asked since Aki looked a little dazed while staring at her.

No more specifically…

'Is ….that a hickey? No there seems to be multiple of them,' Himeno's eyes widened in shock since she could also clearly see the red marks on Makima's pale white neck, it couldn't be hidden, no it was clear that she had no intentions of hiding it.

Now the question was…

Did Makima, the most gorgeous and coveted woman in all of their organization finally get a lover?

And on that day, this was the greatest shocker the entire Devil Hunters Tokyo Branch received. This devastated many people and the bars around the branch were full for the next week.

The bars made a fortune as there wasn't a man in the organization who hadn't fantasized about Makima wishing to have a relationship with her.

But they were too unlucky or lucky? No one will know the answer to that.

"So, what is this thing?" On the other hand, Adam was also experiencing his fair share of surprises today.

As soon as he entered the shop he was greeted by a screen, it was the screen of the shop system and it seemed like something happened.

[Congratulations Host on completing Five Contracts!!]

[Several rewards have been prepared in order to celebrate this achievement of yours!!]

'Oh! I wonder what it is,' Adam was getting excited and then the first reward came into his view.

[The shop owner can now specify when he wants his payment done.]

"Ok, That will be helpful," Adam could already see the benefits of this, if there was a client who was unsure of whether he could perform his duties or not can now sign a contract where the client can pay after she had checked that the job was done.

[In celebration of your milestone you have received a special reward, Random World Hopping Ticket x1, and Payment Pardon Ticket x1.]

"These are actually good rewards," Adam muttered as he stared at the description of these rewards.

[Random World Hopping Ticket: It is a ticket that will allow the Shop owner to go to a random world from all of fiction.]

[Payment Pardon Ticket: The shop owner can use this ticket and pardon a client from paying for his services if he pleases to do so.]

Adam was more intrigued with the world travel ticket honestly even though the second one sounded interesting. Even then who wouldn't?

But it was kind of scary what would happen to the world he had left behind, like just now with Makima.

'No, I am sure she would be back before long,' Adam smiled wryly but then thought of Ai, he hadn't been back in years to her world.

And even though it has only been a few days since he came back from Rias's world he couldn't help but think how much time must have passed on the other side.

Even though he could just go and ask the administrator he was in a sense scared about how much time must've passed, which is why he was never able to open the door even if he had thought about it hundreds of times.

DING* DING*

"Oh! A Client already?" Adam heard the alarm go off and quickly changed into proper clothes while preparing some refreshments for the important guest that was about to come.

It was then the door opened slowly and soon the figure appeared.

"…" Adam was speechless looking at the one who came.

'What The Fuck,' Adam was wide eyes unable to utter a word, and stood there silently, looking at the visitor.
