Chapter Three

As Liona didn't respond, Thomas ran as fast as to the kitchen to get water, he sprinkled it on Liona's face, and then he did it once more till Liona woke up.

"OMG, you scared me," said Thomas. Then all of a sudden, he changed his tone. "Why do you have to scare me?"

Liona looked up into Thomas' face. As she looked at him, before she realized it, she burst into tears, looking at the bruises on her body.

"Why do you treat me like this, Thomas? I'm your wife, not your slave. You just abused me."

Thomas stood up and replied, "Liona, can you stop? I didn't abuse you in any way. All I did was take my right, which you didn't want to give me in the first place. Know your place in this house.

"Do you even realize how many bills I have been dropping on your mother's health monthly"? Yet you dare to behave like this."

Immediately, Liona heard her mother; her mother was her weakest point, and she couldn't bear losing her.

"I'm sorry, Thomas," she said weakly. Liiona was weak, and because of her weakness, many people in her past had taken advantage of her.

"I'm going on a business trip tomorrow, and I will be gone for a week," Thomas said in a low tone. "I want you to pack all my clothes. Am I clear?" he added, giving a stern look to Liona.

"Yes, sure," Liona said, stammering. "Um, Thomas, can I ask you a question?" Liona stood up, trying to avoid eye contact with Thomas.

"What's your question?" Thomas said sharply. "Who is Rebecca?" Liona said, her legs trembling and her hands shaking.

"Are you for real?" Thomas said sharply. He sighed and looked at Liona for a few seconds. Then he responded, "Rebecca and I are childhood friends."

"Childhood friends? If you were childhood friends, why didn't you introduce me to her?"

"even when you met me in that condition?" You left me to meet her. Why do you treat me like this?" Liona said, her eyes becoming pale and teary.

For the first time, Liona voiced out, stood her ground, and said out her mind.

Thomas was surprised and quickly told Liona, "You dare not give me an attitude, and I also don't owe you an explanation. Don't forget the reason why you are here is because I married you so I could help your mother.

"So you don't dare to question me and watch your tone," Thomas said as he shouted at Liona.

Liona couldn't help it as she suddenly ran out of the room, trying to gasp for her breath. She couldn't take it anymore.

She went back to the room as Thomas was packing his suitcase.

"Take me to my mother, I miss her," Liona said, crying as she spoke to Thomas.

"Liona, you know that's not possible," Andrew replied with a mild tone. "I have a business trip tomorrow, perhaps when I get back."

"Okay, that's fine, Thomas. I would like to work also. Staying indoors gets boring, and I want to be more productive."

Thomas quickly changed his tone as Liona's utterances began to irritate him.

"Can't you see I am busy? What work do you want to do? If you knew you wanted to work, why didn't you stay in your father's house where you could work and pay for your mother's bills?"

"I'm sorry, Thomas. I just don't want to be a burden. I have worked before, just that I couldn't continue as I was not paid enough."

"Okay, fine! I'm a billionaire, and I have been handling your mother's bills so far, but it's fine if you want to work. Then you go back to your father's house, and I won't be dropping a dime anymore," Thomas said, staring at Liona.

Liona couldn't utter any words anymore. "I'm sorry," she said, standing opposite Thomas.

"Good, make me something to eat. I have to leave early today."

"Okay," Liona said, standing up. She was still in pain, but Thomas didn't care.

Liona made the food, and Thomas ate to his satisfaction. Liona watched him as he ate while she continued to pack his luggage. She wanted to ask Thomas about his parents, but she felt it would cause an issue.

Thomas was really hard on Liona; to him, he was just doing Liona a favor, not that he was in love with her.

"Hurry up, and let's sleep," Thomas said, finishing his food.

"I'm almost done," Liona replied as she packed the luggage beside the door.

"Come here," Thomas said as he held her hands. Thomas held Liona's waist; she had a curvy figure and Thomas' hands started going upwards toward her breast. He leaned and tried to kiss Liona, but Liona turned her face as Thomas looked cold and asked her in a cold tone, "What did we discuss today?"

Liona looked back, stared at him, and kissed him; she couldn't tell him no as Thomas slept with her for his pleasure and nothing more.

The next morning, as Liona woke up, she noticed Thomas had left, as she didn't see any luggage.

"He couldn't even wake me up," Liona said to herself.

Liona had her bath and went to the kitchen to get something to eat. As she entered the kitchen, she saw Andrew shirtless as he was pouring a glass of water.

He had six packs; Andrew was hot and handsome. Liona stared at him until Andrew caught her.

"Oh, Liona, you are awake," Andrew said. "Are you hungry?"

Liona looked at Andrew as she replied, "Oh no, I'm fine," with a shaky tone. Then she realized she had been wanting to ask a question.

"Andrew, I'm sorry, but I would like to ask a question."

"Okay, you can go ahead," Andrew said.

"Well, I would like to ask about your parents as I haven't met them since I got married, and they were not at the wedding."

"Oh, that," Andrew said, "Didn't you ask Thomas this?" But Liona couldn't speak.

"Oh, I get it, you can't ask him," Andrew continued. "Liona, I don't know why you are with Thomas; I know that he doesn't treat you right. I know why you are with him. I would help you out; you don't have to suffer because he promised to take care of your mother. Are you even sure he's doing…?"

Before Andrew could reply, Liona interrupted, "Please don't let us talk about that now."

"It's fine, Liona. Well, as for my parents, they got divorced, and my mum is late, but my father is somewhere on his own. He chooses to be on his own."

"What do you mean he chooses to be on his own when his son is a billionaire?"

"OMG, Liona, please, don't you know Thomas doesn't care about anyone but himself?"

"Although my father loved him more because he was more ambitious, I didn't get their love. They all showered their love on Thomas.

But one day, my dad decided to be alone.

"It's fine," Liona said, feeling for Andrew. "I'm sorry I brought it up. I will be back."

"It's fine," Andrew replied.

Since Liona got married, she had never toured the mansion. Thomas was extremely wealthy.

The mansion was beautiful. She saw a door open as she entered. She saw Andrew's pictures, then she knew she was in Andrew's room.

The room was beautiful, and she admired the artwork. As she looked right, she saw a framed photograph.

Liona paused as she carried the picture in her hands, her hands shaky, and Liona startled breathing hard. As she stammered, "Oh my God, this is Andrea."
