Task one

Bai Lianhua knew this was going to be a difficult mission because none of the things Yue Linlan did in the past had happened now. She was still in middle school and coincidentally, tomorrow was the day when Wu Chenren was going to confess to her. Could it be that she would have to endure everything and then retaliate at the end? Impossible!

She would probably go through a mental breakdown from everything and she didn't want to wrong herself.

"Cheap system - get out for me! Why did you send me back now? Why didn't you send me at the end?"

The system replied glumly: "The system cannot choose when taskers enter the world. Also, are you dumb? If l sent you at the end, would you be able to retaliate? You would be in jail ok! Now is a good time to suffer a bit and also collect some evidence."

Actually, Bai Lianhua didn't understand why it was so easy to bribe people. Teachers, pupils, loan sharks, examiners, no one escaped from the power of money and bribes. Bai Lianhua really hated how much corruption had infiltrated things in this country. Sure enough, money is king. The system also reminded her that she had asked two questions and only three more questions were remaining.

She didn't want to waste questions so she tried to open the surveillance part of the system in the same way the panel was opened. Luckily, it worked. She placed surveillance on both Yue Linlan, Wu Chenren and her class teacher. Other people were irrelevant at this stage.

"Should l just avoid Wu Chenren's confession? I feel as though this plan isn't feasible. Even if he doesn't confess to me, Yue Linlan will find out soon enough just by observing him. What should l do?" Bai Lianhua was stumped for a bit. "Actually, let me follow the original trajectory for now and record Yue Linlan when she schemes. I will be able to at least make sure l can get through middle school safely. When Yue Linlan does something against the law, l will record it and then send all her crimes anonymously to the police." Bai Linhua's plan was rudimentary but she didn't know what else to do.

She spent the rest of the day in the sickbay and then went back home to her parents. Actually, her adoptive parents weren't that bad. They just valued reputation a bit more and they didn't hate the original owner. When she opened the door, she smelled the delicious scent of roast chicken and she immediately rushed to the kitchen.

"Hu Lianhua! Stop running around in the house! Walk slowly!" Her adoptive mother Hu Baozhai shouted before turning to cut more vegetables. Bai Lianhua hugged her from behind and wailed cutely: "Mom - your baby is in pain." Hu Baozhai rolled her eyes and ignored her cries. Bai Lianhua acted coquettishly because that was how the original owner acted until things went badly.

Food was ready in no time and her adoptive father Hu Peng came back from work. The whole family sat down for the evening meal in silence. Bai Lianhua broke the silence by saying: "Parents, l have something to say." Hu Peng put down his chopsticks and looked at her. Hu Baozhai also looked at her very confused. "Actually, l recently found out that someone is retaliating against me. Think about it, l have always been a good student and never fought with anyone in the class. How is it possible to get my parents called to the school six times? Also, the complaints against me were very trivial and didn't make much sense. Talking in the class, eating in the class etc - which student hasn't done this before? Why is it that only my parents are called to the school?"

Both husband and wife looked at each other. Hu Peng stroked his beard and thought deeply about what his daughter said. Her logic actually made sense. He was annoyed that she was losing face for the whole family this time but now that loopholes have been pointed out, he couldn't blame her much. He thought about whether it was a political opponent. You must know that although he isn't rich, he is a member of parliament for his district and he also was appointed as a minister for land by the president. As a member of the government, he had opponents everywhere which was why he was desperate to maintain reputation.

Hu Baozhai laughed: "I knew my daughter wasn't a troublemaker!"

Bai Lianhua smiled brightly. She thought that this pair was unreasonable because they drove the original owner Hu Lianhua out of the house but seeing them now, they are not bad and they seemed to care about her now.

"Daddy, actually, l have to tell you that l met my twin sister at the entrance of my middle school two years ago and she ignored me. I heard she was adopted by the Yue family in class and l tried to talk to her but she ignored me. Maybe it is her."

Hu Baozhai frowned at my comment but didn't say anything. Hu Peng actually agreed with what his daughter said. Maybe, the Yue family wants to deal with him? But why? He hasn't offended them and mostly approved their projects. "Don't rashly accuse others. I'll look into this so try not to annoy your teachers again for now."

"Daddy, that is a bit late. Today, l needed to go to the sickbay because of some womanly issues but my class teacher refused to let me go and l disobeyed because my stomach was paining. He might call you to come to the school tomorrow about this incident. Daddy Hu frowned: "This..."

"Don't tell my daughter to endure this time! She just asked for permission to go to the sick bay. Is that bad?"

Bai Lianhua appreciated the support from her 'mother' and didn't say anything about how the incident will be resolved. Daddy Hu told her to continue eating and stop thinking about random things so the dinner resumed and there was no more conversation.
