Chapter Twenty Six

"So...... Sonia asked giving me that dreadful look when her brother was out of sight " what are you doing here and also with my brother" I didn't want to make a bad impression not this first day but I know how to handle the kind of her. "I think you have to wait to know that," I said keeping a smile on my face. She scuffed "Oh.....I can't wait..... Because I know that my brother wouldn't end up with a low standard girl like you" she smiled sweetly but her eyes hold nothing but hatred. Just then Sam walked in and smiling at me, dinner is ready to let me escort you, he held out his hand and held me gently. "My parents are waiting there".  " What did you tell them," I asked already getting worried, his face blamed with a smile. "I told them that I have a visitor that they would like to meet" I sight getting worried, how will his parents react to the news. "Hey calm down, I love you that what you should keep in mind" I smile turning to see that Sonia was watching us all this while ignoring her,  I let Sam lead me to the dining room.

We entered the room, I looked at the far end of the table and saw a woman who gave me a dread stare but remains seated. Her dressing spoke all about her, she wore a silver shiny dress and her hair was neatly made compare to mine, tons of gold rings on her finger and neck. Just starting at me gave me a chill, I averted my eyes and looked at the man who sat next to me. His glaze was neutral, he was dressing simple but of course, that doesn't mean that his cloth doesn't cost a fortune. He was putting a gold watch on his wrist. Looking at myself now, I felt inferior, my dress, my hair. I got angry why would Sam take me to his family like this. I averted my eyes from all the wealth and stare at my hand. "Mother this is Rebecca! and this is my parents Mr and Mrs. Madison Sam introduced "Welcome! I heard the woman who might be Sam's mum greeted me. And Sam's father only nodded at me. I smiled at her taking the chair that Sam has offered me, when I was seated Sam also took a chair beside me, followed by Sonia who sat beside her father. And throwing a dread glance at me. I tried my best to ignore the look and focusing on the food in front of me. " So tell me Rebecca about yourself" I stare up at her. This was going to be a long night, I breath out before talking. "I...I grew up here in the city with my parents, I'm their only child and also am a medical student in one of the city universities...... " And from a low standard family" Sonia chips in with a michevious smile.
