Chapter Hundred and eighty one

"He called and asked you out for dinner? "Yeah, isn't that crazy? "I think his up to something" "whatever he's up to John I would never let him get hold of my daughter or take my daughter away from me that's something I would never allow".

"We're always going to be here for you, always, we just have to be very careful this time, do you understand". Rebecca nodded with a swift smile, she was not going to let Sam come in the way of her happiness again.

She watched him leave her office and she was now left alone, she tried to focus on her work but it seems impossible. She couldn't concentrate, she found herself thinking about what Sam would do next...

Jeez! She shouldn't stress herself like this, maybe a cup of coffee and some snacks would do. Rebecca grabbed her purse and made her way out, she really need to think.

Each time she remember the scar on her daughter's back, it always add to the fuel. She just couldn't concentrate and just a nice cup of coffee would really help, she was tired of running away from that monster.

She was going to make sure, she punished him because that's what he deserves. She took the longest route, just to clear her mind, she had been thinking been thinking too much this pass few days.

After some minutes, Rebecca Finally pulled to a stop in front of the cafe. She just couldn't wait to get the coffee down to her system, she really needs something soothing. She walked into the cafe sat down and made her order, just some toast and coffee.

She focused on her cell phone till she heard a noise in front of her, looking up was someone she never wished to see. "Samuel". She just glared at him while he stood there with his hands on his pocket, why was he here.

And how did he know she was here? She had wanted some time to think and relax but it seems that it wasn't going to be as planned. "Can I seat? He asked with a smile and of course he sat without waiting for her to respond.

What was he up to? Did he followed her here? It was so creepy to know that. "How are you Rebecca? From the looks of things, it seems like you weren't expecting me right Becca? He tapped his finger rightly in the table just then the waitress came back with her order.

"Thanks" Rebecca smiled at her and it served as a good distraction away from the man seated in front of her, when she turned to him again, she found that he was still staring at her.

Well, since he wanted to play games, she was ready for him. "Would you like some, I bet you must be very hungry". "Oh, so thoughtful of you Becca..." He reached out and touched her hand. "But I'm not hungry...yet". he grinned widely.

Rebecca tried her best not to flinch "Very well then" Rebecca held up her coffee in front of her. "Cheers" she whispered to him before raising the mug to her lips, she tried to ignore the fact that he was there.

While she eat and drink her coffee. "Seems to be enjoying yourself". "Why not". "I bet it won't last for so long" Sam chuckled and laid back on his seat.

"That's what you thought Sam". "Not what I thought but what will happen Becca" "And you will make that happen? She was being sacaratic now. She bite into her toast and allowed the taste to settle her. "Sunny made a very big mistake" "Finding out the truth about the monster she calls a father or getting away from you?

Sam stared at this woman in front of her while continuously tapping his finger on the table. "You love her, I know that but I know you won't allow what happened to you to happen to your daughter". "Of course, I won't ever let him close to you or those men like you".

Sam leaned close this time, savouring her lovely smell, the fact is that this fragile woman has succeeded in challenging him in a way no one had.

But he won't allow that to continue happening, he was going to put it to a stop, her attitude and everything she thinks she have, he wanted to watch her being helpless like she was years back.

He wanted to hear her cry, he wanted her to feel pained "You know despite all this years of war and hatred between us, we could still come to a good terms..." Rebecca chuckled amusingly

"Theirs still time Becca" "Time for what exactly? Rebecca asked wanting to play his games. "Time to sort things out, you know change your mind...we could even be friends". "I think it a great Idea... being friends, what a wonderful thought after hurting my daughter and scaring her body"

She smiled but was already raging in anger "Let's not go there Rebecca" he leaned back again on his chair. "let's not go there" "What if I want to go there, what if I want to talk about it, what will happen? "A lot Becca, a lot of things will happen and I swear you won't like the outcome...

He went silent for a while "So what do you say? We could take done times to sort out things on a normal ground...we should do, I know we gate each other but let just do it because Sunny, she deserves the best right?

Let's not drag her further into this mess Becca" Rebecca watched him dug his hand in his jacket and brought out a card. "We could talk more about this if you're interested to do it my way, which is the best way to do it".

He slide the card on the table and stood up "Till we meet again Becca, don't make the same mistake again, you'll regret it". She watched him leaves the Cafe and when she finally looked down on the table, the card was just laying there.

She dropped her way mug and picked it up from the table and reading the content she realized that it was an invite to spontaneous dinner party that he was hosting in few weeks time, what a freak!

She tore the card on her way out of the Cafe, she have allowed him to play her for a long time but this time she was going to play along with him.

"I could invite you to the house, if you guys are so curious? "Yeah, sure I'll like to tour around the castle your mum bought, it is now all over the news". "It not a castle Jade" Sunny laughed.

"But it looks like one, it magnificant". "That's what I said the first time I saw it". "How about Gina" Josh finally asked "Umm, she's been skipping some of her exams for a while now" Jade answered while looking at her.

"She had been really sad since then and the last time I asked about her, her mum told me she's with her cousin who lived an hour away" "It not her fault you know" Josh looked at her. "I know and I'm not angry at her, it just...

"Just what? He asked. "Just that I'm confused and hurt...it isn't the same with anger" "Then you just have to let her know you're not angry with he

"Can you tag her along when coming for tour around the house tomorrow".

"Sure, I will" she felt so bad for making her feel so sad, she didn't mean to go off on her like that. It was just that she couldn't believe that her best friend would ever do something like this, it was painful and she felt so much disappointed that night.

Jade waved her goodbye later on and she was left with Josh. "How are you doing? He asked when they were finally alone. "I'm good". "Sure? This past weeks has been hard in you I know that but you're free to let me in on anything that's bothering you".

Sunny hesitated for a while "It just that I'm getting used to everything...it all seems new to me, you know...." "I know right? Just give yourself some time everything would fall into place"

"You know, I'm enjoying every moment I spend with her, I don't ever want anything to come in the way of this new find happiness, you know the feeling when you what something to last forever". "Yeah, I do"

"It a special feeling". "Like watching mum come back after being gone for a while now, I had been very angry and annoyed that she left, I thought I was still angry with her till she walked into my room, instead of being angry just the way I had thought and felt all thus while....

I was happy and when I hugged her...I just felt at home and the rage instantly stopped, I realized how much I had missed her this pass month, you know this is the feeling I never wanted to forget. The feeling of being at home and safe, somewhere you felt loved.

Sunny didn't know why but she suddenly wrapped her arm around him, she felt he deserved this. They both deserved this feeling, this special feeling, she stayed this way and didn't even make s move to let go.

It seems like forever before she felt Josh hand on her back, gradually he was hugging her back. They both stayed this way, letting each other to feel the connection. "I also feel safe here, I feel at home and I never want to lose this feeling". Josh slowly pull away a bit to stare at her face.

"Can I kiss you? He didn't know why he asked, what was wrong with him but he couldn't help it. He just couldn't staring at those blue innocent eyes, Sunny reach up and kissed his cheek before moving away from his embrace.

"Walk me home will you? He wanted to apologize for saying something silly but he looked at her face and found her smiling at him, she wasn't angry or was she pretending to be happy.

"What did you mean you spoke to him? Emily asked as he poured a drink for both of them. "On the cafe, I went to get some coffee and toast, isn't that obvious?  "What did he said to you exactly because I don't get the reason you even though talked to that son of a bitch!

"He told me to cooperate with him, to come together to sort things out instead of dragging Sunny into it". "That mad man!  "He want to cooperate to sort this out? For goodness sake.

"He told me I was going to regret it if I don't do like he had said and he also gave me an invite to a spontaneous dinner he was hosting".

"I beg of you, you should never let Sunny know about this, it would just make her uncomfortable and that's the last thing she needed now"

"Of course, I would never do anything to make my daughter uncomfortable and whatever he thinks he'll do, he should just know that if he ever tries anything with my daughter, I'll shoot him dead".

Emily reached out to her "All I wanted now is for you and Sunny to be save, nothing more". "If course, we'll be save". "Just promise me that, please, I don't want to lose any of you, that man is a monster, you know?

"I promise, nothing would happen to us, we're always here, always here with you and the children, don't stress yourself about anything". "I should be the one telling you that" Emily laughed sadly.

"Sure thing, I gradually take your advice". She knows her sister was worried but no matter what, this time he wouldn't allow anybody to mess up with her or her daughter.

After spending the evening with her cousin, she finally decided to drive back home. Knowing well enough that Sunny was already home and that gives her some kind of satisfaction and joy that she never know she'll ever have.

She drove home and walked straight to her daughter's room but she wasn't there and at the instant, she felt paranoid. Where was she? Maybe she was around the house somewhere, their was no reason to worry.

Rebecca walked down from her room and have to asked the servant this time where her daughter was.

"Didn't know I'll find you here" Rebecca laughed as she watched her daughter. "Why not? I just want to surprise you with the best dish". "Seriously? Just go and change and stay away from the kitchen till I'm done".

"I can help you out if you want". "I don't need your help here, I can prepare this...just stay away from the kitchen". Rebecca watched her for a while before nodding her head "Yes captain". With a kiss on the cheeks, she walked out of the door.

But decided that she really need her smoke, she really feel like she needed it to clear her mind a little.

Tara dropped the newspaper she was holding in a loud thud. "Fuck them! She cursed. "What is it this time Tara? Sam asked from where he was standing, his wife have been a pain in the ass for a while and he just hated it.

"Can you believe them! The house! I feel like burning it down with that woman inside it!  Sam chuckled as he dragged his finger through his hair. And suddenly saw himself walking up to her "My dear wife is really angry" he laughed reaching out to you her face.

"You said you were going to do something right, why are you being so quiet and pretending that this isn't happening!! Sam watched her for a while but did not say anything.

"You know what Tara, I really thought I would need you, that you might be helpful one of this days but it seems as if you're just a pain in the ass!

"What are you talking about? "Exactly what you're thinking Tara, I don't need you any more, you're just being a bad pain to me". Tara made to push him out of the way but instead Sam grabbed her tightly on the wrist.

"Don't try to do anything stupid because you'll regret it Tara". "I don't think so Sam, you walk around the house and act as he if everything is okay, while Rebecca wins and you expect me to be okay with it?

"You're my wife and you'll only do as I had said and that is to stay put! "I want my daughter back, why are you still not doing anything". Sam pulled her close towards him "You're so bent on being such a pain". "I'm doing that because you're not helping at all, you're the one who is a real pain here"

"Fine then, you want to get your daughter back right? You should go ahead and do whatever you think would make her come back home" Tara glared angrily at him "But don't mess things up, let me trust you on this then" Sam smiled at her before releasing his grip on her wrist.

"Why the sudden change of emotion? Tara wanted to know. "Because I realized that I can't stop you from doing what you want and now you're free...
