Unfallen

A genius fighter with a nasty attitude had fought every day, even though he’d lose some fights he had never once fallen. Even when knocked-out he’d be unconscious standing, and that was how he got the nickname ‘Unfallen’ Suddenly he woke up in a strange bed in a fancy-looking room. His ‘family’ was worried sick for him. The only problem was, he had no clue who these people were.

Chapter 19 - Class

I picked up the wooden sword and went back to where I was. I could hear some people talking quietly about me.

"He threw his sword; he really is a gangster..."

"How could a knight throw their sword?"

"He threw it and still lost."

"I wonder what his family thinks."

I decided to sit down, there were quite a few more people who had to fight.

I rested my cheek on my hand and thought about how I could've won.

Maybe if I threw the dagger at his stomach?

No, he'd probably still be able to defend.

What if I created an unpreventable situation?

That'd be hard.

Maybe I could've just waited all day until he moved, he didn't say there was a time limit.

Yeah, that was probably the easiest way, he'd have to sleep eventually.

As I was thinking to myself, I could hear audible gasps.

"She did it."

"She won..."

"I didn't think anyone would."

Kendel had taken a step back, I looked at who won against him and it was Ella.

"You win."

"Next."

Ella came up and looked at me.

I looked at her and tilted my head.

She walked away and watched the rest of the fights.

What was that? Was she picking a fight? Probably not, I didn't see any ill-intent in her eyes.

Soon after everyone had finished fighting, it had gotten dark and Kendel spoke.

"Good work today everybody."

"It seems like only one of you had won against me, I hope you can change that by the end of the year."

"You'll all be in temporary dorms in a second and in the morning, they'll be a piece of paper at the entrance of the room. It'll tell you which class to go to and then you'll have your permanent room for the next 2 years."

"I wish you all luck. Goodbye."

And just like that I was in a room, it was a fairly big room. It looked like the inns room but this one had higher quality of everything.

I yawned and laid on the bed.

I hoped we didn't have to do that paper test every day, they were the worst part, I thought.

I'll be assigned my class tomorrow. I hope Irene and the rest of them are in my class.

I went to sleep.

---

The next morning, there were multiple uniforms on my bed. Was there one for each day of the week? That's nice of them.

I put one of them on and put the others in my bag. Heading to the door there was a paper on the floor.

'Class A' was written on it, I left the room and there was a short line towards the entrance.

Are we supposed to wait in that line?

I decided to wait in line, soon after, Ella came behind me.

I looked at her and decided to speak.

"Morning."

She looked at me and hesitated for a second before she spoke.

"Good morning."

I looked back in front of me and started to move.

The line was moving pretty quick, in just a few minutes I was at the front.

"What class?"

The man in a weird looking hat asked.

"Class A."

In the blink of an eye, I was in a different building. I looked around and there were a few people here.

A few seconds later, Ella had appeared in front of me.

Is that what it looks like whenever you randomly appear somewhere?

"You're in Class A as well?" I asked.

"Yes."

I decided to go sit on a nearby chair and Ella followed me and sat next to me.

Hm? Whatever.

I rested my cheek on my hand and soon more and more people started to appear in the room.

After around 20 minutes people stopped appearing. There were about 30 people in here.

"Kai! Is that you!?"

I heard an energetic voice towards my right.

It was Olly.

I gave him a peace sign and spoke.

"Hey."

"So, you're in Class A as well?"

I nodded my head.

"I think it's just us 2 in here, I haven't seen the others."

That's unlucky, I'd hoped we could've been together.

"At least we're together." I spoke

"Yup! It won't be so lonely then!"

"By the way, who is this? Your friend?"

Olly looked at Ella.

"We worked together to fight the Orc, she's Ella."

Olly shook his head a little.

"That Orc was strong, it felt way stronger than usual."

"Did it?"

"Ah, maybe yours didn't since we fought different Orcs."

"Nice to meet you, Ella! I'm Olly!"

Ella looked at him before nodding her head once.

"Eh? Is she you?"

I tilted my head.

Shortly after Kendel appeared in the middle of the room.

"Good morning class!"

"I'll be Class A's main instructor. My name is Kendel Aemys."

A few people audibly gasped.

"The Ghost Sword?!"

"I had heard he retired..."

"Is he really the Ghost Sword?"

It was a similar reaction from before.

"Woah! The Ghost Sword is personally teaching us!" Olly shouted from my right.

"Is he famous?"

At my question Olly seemed shocked.

I tilted my head at him. Ella also did the same.

"No way... You both don't know The Ghost Sword?"

I looked at Ella before looking back at Olly and shook my head.

"Haah, you both must be living under a rock or something."

"The Ghost Sword, Kendel Aemys was a force to be reckoned with, while we were at war with a neighboring kingdom, I heard that he would attack their forces in the middle of the night and disappear like a ghost by the morning."

"He was a key figure for us winning that war, but shortly after the war finished, he disappeared, just like a ghost!"

"I can't believe The Ghost Sword himself is teaching us!"

"Oh... Cool."

"That's it!? You both have no reaction to that!?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

It didn't really matter to me; I was only here because Father asked me to be. But since I'm already here I thought I might as well take it seriously; it seemed fun anyway. It didn't matter who would be teaching me.

Kendel spoke

"Alright, everyone, follow me, I'll show you around."
