1 the beginning of the Nightmare

person POV:

The sun began to set onto the horizon; Litchmond High has finally given its graduating class a prom to remember. In the spacious gymnasium, held a large group of dancing students; most of them being visibly drunk while the blasting music echoed throughout the room. As the final celebration begins to form, two letters that'd been decorated with hearts suddenly drop to the dancefloor. Miss Becky; the principal of Litchmond Hgh, quickly found and snatched up the letters to examine with a disgusted glare in her eyes.

Benji's POV:

"BENJAMIN GRAYSON! CONGRATS ON BEING THIS YEAR'S PROM KING!" said the Mc at the mainstage DJ booth; tuning down the music to be heard across the whole room. I looked around at the people clapping and congratulating me for the announcement, yet part of me remained shocked at the surprise of it all. "Me?!" "Yes you!" Jasmine exclaimed as she lightly pushed me towards the stage. I hesitantly walked up the stage, meeting Camoron; who'd been previously announced as Prom queen. My hands gripped the fake crown that'd been given to me within only a few moments of being on the stage; simply placing the nice accessory on my head with ease. As the crowd continued to cheer, Miss Becky suddenly walked up to the stage with something in her front suit pocket. I could tell it was some form of paper sticking out, but I could not make out what name was on the front of it. She grabbed the microphone away from the MC; with that, the room became completely silent. With the tension around the room, I knew this situation couldnt be a good thing.

Cam's POV:

The moment I stood next to one of the semi-popular guys in my grade, I could tell something was going on. The outcast of friend groups; turning into a queen of the most famous celebration known to seniors had been a red flag for me. After Miss Becky grabbed the microphone, she pulled out something out of her front pocket. When I saw what she pulled out my face dropped and I could tell that Beji was also stunned by the scene. An array of fancy letters had been gripped inside of Miss Becky's hands before she took the microphone once again; and called two other students onto the center stage alongside me and Benji. "Oliver Preston and Isla Krismond come to the stage as well please.." The principal spoke in a cold and expressionless tone, the massive groups of students tried to examine the letters inside the older woman's hands before the other two students slowly walked up and onto the stage with slight fear in their eyes. Everyone was horribly silent now, only having the uncomfortably happy songs in their ears to help with the unfolding scenario.

Miss Becky's POV:

I give a grim glance toward each of the four maturing students on the stage; happily seeing the sight of their growing nervousness. My hands set the mic onto a short stand to let me sit while still being heard by everyone in the room. Benji and Camron had looked at the other kids with confusion for what seemed like forever, but that all ended once I opened one of the letters and the kids on the stage looked at the name displayed for who wrote the letter in question. "All four of these students have had an amazing time earning crowns as they danced with the devil tonight. I have found an abundance of evidence to prove these people as sinners, starting with a small sum of letters." I laugh and look directly at the well written words on the page.

[Flashback] Olivers POV:

I sat on the hard wooden library floor, pencils and pens all in a pile next to me. It was the last day of high school, the night before the Prom. Personally, I never was the type of person to write up letters and confess my feelings for people in some dumb way; shockingly never seeing the appeal of being sensitive and vulnerable in the eyes of someone I fall for. Today was different.. Tonight was different. The last day I could just write it down and hand it over to Benji before possibly never seeing him again. It was the perfect plan to just confess before everyone goes their separate ways. My left hand combs through my layered hair to slick it back from my face, while my right hand takes a pen from the pile beside me and starts to slowly write on the neatly decorated paper. *"Dear, Benjamin Grayson; I'm writing this letter in hopes that we share the same feelings, yet I know that you might not know me as much as I've been desperate to know you. There's a lot of risks in what I am about to write for you in these pages. However, There's not a better way to explain how I've fallen into the flaming gaze inside your eyes. This high school has always made popular students the meanest in personality, but there's an undeniable softness to your heart; that I could witness myself longing for. Hopefully, you feel the same way for me; seeing as this may be the last we speak to one another. But, if you do not wish to reciprocate my feelings; I hope we can still be good friends. Love: Oliver Preston."*

[End of Flashback] Olivers POV:

"What a sweet letter Oliver," Miss Becky remarked as she finished reading the letter in front of everyone. Both I and Beji looked at each other with surprise; and without any words to say towards each other in the deafening silence. "But that's not all students," she said as she stood up from her seat and walked up to the center of the stage and opened the next letter.

[Flashback] Cam's POV:

It was the middle of the school day, when I always go into the empty classroom in the basement of my high school. The rubble that hid the entrance was obvious at the least; crumbling in a way that made everyone else never go there in fear of it suddenly collapsing. I took the burden of it upon myself; helping fix it up to stabilize it as my hide-away during free periods at this school. However, I was here for a special purpose now. My art supplies were scattered in my backpack, so I quickly took some pink and red markers out of it. The paper was only covered with small hearts and smiling faces before I opened it up to reveal some blank space for my writing. With a pen in hand, I slowly began to write against the soft surface of the paper. *"Dear, My loving Isla. I'm going to be open and straight to the point with this letter, so I can avoid any confusion on how I feel. Ever Since I first looked inside of your eyes, ever since you gave me that dumb handshake on your first day here. I could never look away from you without thinking about looking back; hopefully you understand and feel the same way that I do. I accept that this may be labeled as a sin to others, yet I will never regret telling you exactly how I have felt for the longest time. Love: Cameron."*

[End of Flashback] Cam's POV:

After she finished reading the letter I wrote for Isla, I could feel my face turn bright red; instinctively feeling nervous for the other woman's reaction. The students all looked shocked and disgusted with what they just heard, but Miss Becky looked like the fun had just begun for her. At that moment I wanted someone to shoot the fuck out of me, I could also tell that the others were feeling the same way I was feeling. "So as everyone can see, the ungraceful sinners have practically ruined this night of fun. I usually wouldn't advise such harsh punishments, But I believe that calling the parents of these four students and getting permission to fix them at the Richmond conversion camp will suffice as a perfect act for this kind of sin." "YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!" Oliver blurted out, "Well Mr. Preston you should've thought of your actions before doing them." She remarked. The argument had made multiple of the students begin to record the whole ordeal on their phones, while others just booed and yelled for Oliver to shut up and take the offer. Miss Becky stopped responding to the fighting; simply pulling out her radio and signaling for security to watch the room and wait until our parents came. She then turned off her radio and placed it back in her front pocket and walked off the stage. The four of us left on the stage with everyone's eyes on us and I could feel the tension build up in the room. "All you fuckers can say what you want, but one thing i know Is that all of you are being brainwashed." Oliver exclaimed as he walked off the stage.

Isla's POV:

I saw that Benji quickly followed behind him, while me and Cam were left on the stage; having everyone give us weird looks. The stunned expression on Camron's face had made me feel bad for what had occurred tonight. The music finally stopped as the other students ended their videos and probably posted them for all else to see, but that didn't compare to how worried I felt for what our parents would say about this. Nobody would want to be placed in the middle of nowhere, yet this neighborhood was filled with people who would never accept us for being different. The sound of a small backstage door creaking open had knocked me out of my thoughts; immediately seeing the parents of not only me, but the other parents as well; stepping onto the stage and meeting mine and Cam's eyes. I could tell she was trying to tell me something but I couldn't figure out what. With our parents in front of us, I couldn't even begin to explain the feeling of nervousness that I was feeling at this moment. I knew that my parents were disappointed, as they hardly looked me in the eyes without having hatred inside the gaze. Every parent had shared looks of shock and anger, but also some forms of sadness as well. It was like they all agreed to the punishment at once. The principal only walks onto the stage in order to grab everyones signature onto a slip of paper; to be honest I could care less about the slip at the moment, all I was thinking about was if the boys were okay. Suddenly, the principal began letting the security guards go behind me and Camron before the rest of the security team began walking towards the exit in order to find the other two.
