1 Chapter 1

"Ravin," I turned at the sound of my name.

"Hmm" I hummed seeing it was just Christian.

"What do you mean 'hmm'," he said walking up behind me" I thought you were working on having more than one syllable answers."

"Oh Christian! My dearest friend, How may I help you!" I said in the most ass kissing voice I could muster.

"Well for one you could drop that stupid tone and two I was just checking if you remember your promise about going to greet the new guardian tomorrow."

"I remember," I said, slowing down to look at him, " Why do you need me to help anyways? It's not like he'll be watching me."

"I need your help because . . . um . . . It doesn't matter why," He said defensively. "Anyway we're roommates which means that he'll be in our room while guarding me so you should meet him" He said, crossing his arms with what looked like a triumphant grin. I rolled my eyes at his childish actions.

"Which one is he?" I asked

"His name's Qin Mo or something, according to the wolves he's a beast, apparently he trained in Siberia, Russia and fought off a pack of rouges all on his own when he was like 16." He said excitedly.

I zoned out as Christian went on about how this guy was supposedly invincible. He probably just wanted me there cause he was scared and used 'You're my roommate so you should meet him' as an excuse. Guardians mostly consists of strong supernatural beings (mainly werewolves they) protect us from hunters (who kill non-humans).

I sighed as we walked to our next class. Christian knows I hate being around people, but he is constantly trying to get me to 'go out of my comfort zone'. We've been friends for over ten years and he's always been like this and I know he has good intentions but it's fucking annoying.

I just wanted to curl up and spend my afternoon with a book. But no, I have to go hold Christians hand so he can meet his new guardian.

I don't even remember why he's getting one. Something about his aunt freaking out because of a threat. I rolled my eyes at the thought of Christians aunt. Its not like she even gives a fuck about him.

She's probably just having someone sent here to watch Christian so he doesn't ruin her 'precious reputation'. Too bad she doesn't hear what people say about her. I snickered at the thought of 'repudiation'.

"What's so funny?" Christian looked at me. I shook my head. He shrugged his shoulders, used to me acting weird. Anyways, I thought, it's not my business why she's sending him a guardian. I just hoped it wouldn't affect me.

"Are you ready to go?" Christian asked outside the bathroom door.

"Give me a second," I shouted with my mouth full of toothpaste.

"If you had gotten up earlier then you would have been ready by now"

"Whatever," I grumbled. What psychopath gets up at 6 on a Saturday? It was now 6:20, the guy arrives at 6:30. We have plenty of time and even if we're late by a few minutes it won't matter. People never arrive exactly at the time they say they will, Christian's just overreacting.

I spit out the toothpaste and rinse my brush off before looking in the mirror. Staring back at me was my pale face, gray eyes, and white hair. I looked like a character from a 1950's show. Christian used to joke about how I probably bleed in black and white.

"Hey!" Christian called, breaking me out of my thoughts. "What the hell is taking so long?"

I sighed, taking my gaze off my reflection and opening the door.

"Took you long enough." said Christian exasperated.

"I wasn't in there that long," I said.

"It's 6:27 and the place we're supposed to be is all the way across campus," he said.

"It won't hurt to be late," I muttered sheepishly, receiving a sharp glare from Christian. I was surprised that I was staring at myself for so long. Fuck, when did I become such a narcissist.

We arrived panting and a few minutes late. But like I said they still weren't here.

"Sorry we're late," panted Christian.

"Oh, don't worry dear. They're always a bit late for some reason or another. This time it was because of some complications on the runway," said Ms. Stewart, a kind elderly werewolf in charge of welcoming guests at St. Paul's academy.

St. Paul's was the academy we went to. Humans thought it was some super private boarding school for rich kids. I wondered what they would think if they found out it was not only a public school but that the students were vampires, werewolves and other supernatural beings.

The government would probably kidnap our kind and do experiments on us, that is If the hunters didn't get to us first. I shuddered at the thought.

"BAM," the sound of a car door closing breaks me out of my thoughts and I see two school guardians get out of a black SUV. One walks to the trunk and gets a bag and the other opens the back door and a tall figure steps out.
