6 CHAPTER SIX: INVITATION

Durlak was watching the boy who rarely paid attention to his words and when he does pay attention, his mind would seem to wander off to some unknown realm yet despite this, the black robed man did not show any sign of annoyance, instead he calmly exercised patience while waiting for the boy to gather and arrange his thoughts. When Earl started paying attention again to the man he could see an expectant expression on Durlak's face. Seeing the confused expression on Earl's face, Durlak repeated his words "The sect will be hosting the entrance trials in four day, if you are interested in joining, you could try out and after evaluation if you show some potential, You will be welcomed. "It would be my honour, but my parents are probably looking for me right now, so I should get going, Wouldn't really want them to worry now would I?" Earl was tempted but he couldn't just join the first place that offered accommodation in this strange new world, he felt that the best thing to do was to strike out on his own that way, he wouldn't have to worry about betrayal. "Oh", with a raised eyebrow the man asked "and where is your home?" A simple question, yet not knowing the name of any place, Earl couldn't give an answer. He felt that this Durlak was too troublesome but before he could blurt this out Durlak continued "no parent would leave a child of theirs in the GHOST TRINITY black market, not unless they had the intention of giving the child away". The moment these words floated towards Earl, he gained a stunned expression, "Slavery", he thought. He wasn't overly surprised after all compared to what he'd experienced these past few days, finding out that this strange world practised the act of selling their fellow beings was not even worth mentioning. No, what surprised him was the fact that even parents sell their own children. Seeing his surprised expression on his face, Durlak thought that he was surprised at being found out, he still continued, should you pass the trials, you would be given a roof, food and will be taught how to cultivate your body, by then, your limit would be endless. He was sold, Earl was totally onboard now, from what Onara told him, he could deduce that those cultivators were extremely powerful people, that was among the things that he needed now 'power and information' and perhaps in the process of doing all these he could figure out what this thing in his head could give as reward.

QUEST ACCEPTED

The words flashed again, but this time he was not that startled instead he raised his head and with a resigned look in his eyes he spoke…..
