1 Old Age

In a dark room sat a man, he exuded the scent of death. If a mere civilian were to walk close they'd see their own deaths on the hands of the same man.

Slowly the suffocating aura receded back into his body, a cough of blood flowed from his mouth. His pale skin and striking black eyes gave the man the look of an omniscient god. Even in his old age the man was strong.

He shallowly breathed in from his mouth as he looked down, calmly at the sword that had passed right through his old body. In his abdomen there was a metal tip of a sword poking through, blood pooling on the floor, staining his clothes red.

The elder slowly reached for the blade, slowly pushing the blade out of his body.

A gasp was heard from behind the man.

-Hahahaha you die now you fucker!- said the figure of a blonde haired youth. A cruel smile playing on his lips, a flash of sadistic pleasure could be seen from the blue eyes of the youth.

-Ah, Jason my dear grand child, why did you stab me and condemn me to a early grave?- asked the elderly man.

-Never call me a grandson you son of a bitch! You killed my parents and then pretend to be a angel and 'save' me from the streets!- ranted Jason his eyes now contorted to a helpless and angry feeling. A hollow fake, mirthful chuckle escaped the blondes lips as he looked on to his once thought adoptive savior.

-hahahaha- laughed the elderly man ignoring the burning in his throat and the bloody feeling seeping through his nose. -Kid, I'm a underworld boss, I'd never be merciful enough to save a child!- a flash of mockery entered the mans eyes. -You think too highly of yourself! You are my grandchild! Your parents were murdered as a way of revenge for someone else, and yet, you unfilial grandchild dared to point a sword at me!- the old man stood up, unleashing all of his disappointment and anger dwelling within him because of this betrayal.

-I...- The blonde boy froze, he never knew who his grandparents were, he never knew the man in front of him could be this scary. He felt shame. Soon his body hit the floor groveling in front of his grandfather. A deep welling of sadness, panic and hurt collected together waiting to break the poor child's mind. Then he had a realization, the helpful uncle, that bastard had lied and twisted his mind. Quickly he looked up.

In front of him stood a tall man, an elderly man. His eyes were closed, mouth slightly parted and yet curved upwards to show a genuine smile forming. Though most noticeable thing for this body was that it wasn't breathing.

The blonde youth looked up and could only silently cry. He had just killed his last family, he cried and wept. Soon sleep over took him , there he lay unconscious on the floor, his grandfathers standing figure overlooking his body, as if the last ditch effort to protect him.

[WELCOME HOST, PLEASE CHOOSE FOUR SKILLS]

'Huh?' Thought the elder as he soon regained the sense of touch, slowly he was able to regain the ability to see as well. A quick look around, and he found himself in a plain, surrounding him was glass shards a myriad of colors. In front of the elder was a screen, a hologram, a ghost. Within the screen there were set words, as he read them he was able to regain his breath.

-where am I?- asked the man , looking at the floating screen.

[HOST IS WITHIN HIS SOUL SPACE, HOST HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY THE SYSTEM. HOST MUST HASTE TO CHOOSE THREE SKILLS, A TIME AND A ATTRIBUTE]

-right...- the man scratched behind his head, -How do I exactly choose skills and what does it entail?- wobbling a bit the elder was finally able to sit, there he was sitting on air.

[SKILLS- ARE PART OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT, SKILLS ARE PART OF HUMAN LIFE; COOKING ,PAINTING, WRITING. SYSTEM SKILLS ARE MOMENTARY BOOSTS TO ALREADY EXISTING ABILITIES OR THEY CAN BE IN THE MORE 'MAGICAL' SIDE ; FIRE BALLS ,FLIGHT, INVISIBILITY ,ELECTRIC ARROWS, ETC.]

'So it's close to the RPG game skills...' he thought as he record and tapped his chin a couple of times. -System would you mind showing me the all the skills?-

Soon in front of him was another screen thus time larger and it showed a long list divided into many columns, on the left there was also what seemed to be a scroll option as he moved it up and down and saw new skills. -System how many skills are there?- asked the man curiously.

[THERE ARE NINE BILLION EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED ONE SKILLS]

-is there a way to filter them?-

[YES. HOWST MUST SIMPLY SAY "FILTER FIND/FILTER REMOVE" AND THE SYSTEM WILL FIND OR REMOVE CERTAIN SKILLS]

-I see...- looking thoughtful the elder soon spoke, -[FILTER FIND] traveling skills- after the command was issued he looked at the floating screen and soon saw the contents change and the number of skills he reduced to seventy thousand. -[FILTER REMOVE] flashy and noticeable skills- again the screen reset only showing six hundred skills.

Looking at the skills he started to read their descriptions.

[WIND BODY- PASSIVE SKILL- TURNS HOST BODY INTO WIND , THIS SKILL DOESN'T ALLOW THE USER TO CHOOSE THEIR DESTINATION , THEY CAN ONLY BE CARRIED BY THE WIND- LV1]

[GLASS DOOR- ACTIVE SKILL- ABILTY TO MELT THE HOSTS BODY TO A MIRROR AND TELEPORT TO OTHER HIGHLY REFLECTIVE SURFACES, FOR SUCCESSFUL SKILL TELEPORTATION BOTH HIGHLY REFLECTIVE AREAS MUST BE ABLE TO FULLY REFLECT HOSTS BODY-LV1]

[SIGHT TRAVEL- ACTIVE SKILL/PASSIVE SKILL- ALLOWS USER TO TELEPORT WHERE THEIR SIGHT CAN REACH, TELEPORTATION WILL TELEPORT EVERYTHING AROUND THE HOST,-LV1]

'This won't do there's to many options' shaking his head the man said gently -[SYSTEM FIND] shadow element skills, only host teleportation.-

He didn't know if this would work but he hoped it would.

Soon the screen reset once more only showing ninety three options. 'Alright time to filter through them once more'...
