Mashed-Up Feelings

It was lunch break. Liz left the room as soon as break started to eat with Ana, and Luka was having lunch with Seig.

"What happened? You look in a bad mood," Seig asked. He knew why Luka was feeling down and wanted to help him in some way.

"It's nothing," Luka lazily replied.

"Oh? Could it be that you are worried about your popularity?" Seig's 'some way' of helping Luka was to tease him until he confessed.

"Nah"

'It's just that I don't want that guy to talk to Liz'

"Are you worried about your girlfriend?"

"Hmm?" This question caught Luka's attention.

'Oh right! The school still thinks that I am going out with Liz, but Seig knows everything' Luka squinted his eyes. 'What the hell is he planning?'

"I mean, it's natural to feel jealous."

"Seig, you know everything already that 'Me going out with Liz' is just a misunderstanding, right?"

"I sure do know" His reply nearly made Luka slap him.

Luka's face twitched. "Then why are you saying this?"

"Oh, so you are saying you don't love Liz?"

"Of course I… don't" Luka averted his gaze. He was also unaware of that question.

'What the hell is this feeling?'

"Okay then, imagine Ana with some boy."

"Hah? Why should I?"

"Just do it."

'Ana with some guy…' Luka imagined Ana with Tero. "I want to kill him."

"See? that's jealousy."

"...."

"Now imagine Liz with some guy."

'Liz with some guy' Luka imagined Liz with Tero. "I want to cut him in pieces."

"See?"

"...."

'I admit that I get the same feeling. which means… I love Liz too?!' Luka was completely baffled. Even he had no idea--he was totally unaware. 'Wait! But… I love Ana, and she also loves me. Liz also loves me… and I also love Liz?' Luka was now aware of his feelings for Liz.

It was the same; he had unknowingly fallen in love with Liz. 'Wait! Did Ana know about it? And that's the reason Ana suggested the status quo?' He gasped. 'Oh, my fucking sword! How could I be so dense? I was so fixated on making Ana mine that I never noticed what was going on around me.'

'I knew Liz loved me, but I kept thinking it was just a prank to mess with Ana. And then finally; yesterday, when Liz confessed to me, I ignored her like an asshole and kept-- argh!'

"You are making an interesting face," Seig said with a smirk on his face. Since Seig and Luka had known each other ever since they were kids, Seig knew how to handle Luka.

"Shut up!" Luka kicked Tero's chair. The chair fell back, but Seig didn't. Right after Luka kicked the chair, he grabbed Seig's hand so he wouldn't fall with the chair.

"You are not honest with your feelings, are you?" After hearing that from Seig's mouth, Luka let go of Seig's hand, and he fell.
