Underneath the coldness of my skin

[MATURE THEMES] Never in her life had Celeste thought of waking up in the middle of the night at the horrendous screams of her parents nor finding out the man she had loved to her bone would do the dreadful deed of assisting his dad in killing her parents in the greed of power and wealth.  The grief and heartbreak she had gone through was one of hell and seeing the facade of her ex-partner's father falling before her feet the next night trapped inside the walls of her chamber when he tried to assault her was frighteningly alarming which left her with no way but to flee the Kingdom she grew up in. The palace where she only had the best of memories until that unfortunate night when she unwillingly had to let go of the people who gave birth to her. Who she loved to death.  Then again, never in her life had Celeste thought there will be a moment she will be brought to the kingdom of Elyznh— which she heard about a lot but didn't though one day she will be setting foot there and living a life pretending to be a human when the blood flowing inside her nerves were pure Vampire— living with werewolves nor falling in love with a werewolf. Her secret is her's only, and when she dies it will become mere ashes as she is and rose in the sky, until then no one needs to know.

what has she just got herself into?

After a long stride through the pebble and muddy way, they stop under a giant tree to give release some rest as Seha said. But she doesn't need rest, a walk like this could never tier a vampire like her.

She wondered why all the trees here were so enormous as she bore holes into the thickness of the tree trunk. It looks so harsh and hard. Her fingers itched to run over its green-brown skin.

"Ready to go in?" Seha asks, making Celeste look up at him from the tree trunk.

"Yeah." She says, uncertainty oozing down her body like invisible water. Seha's face softened when he saw her shift uncomfortably but said nothing to assure her.

Celeste doubts if he's being a little nice because he thought of her as a human.

"We have to see the pack leader first, he will say what to do. He's a nice man, maybe he'll give you some time and let you stay here for a few days before taking you to the palace." Seha's face is void of any emotion as he looks into Celeste's eyes, schooling his expressions perfectly.

"So you are sure that going to the palace will lead me to my death."  If it isn't Seha would not say things like that, right?

"I didn't say that." He shakes his head, eyes zeroing in panic.

Celeste doesn't say a word nor does she pay any mind to him.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled and before Celeste could open her mouth to say something, he said, "Let's get in there." dismissively.

A sigh pushed past her pink mouth as she shakes her head and follows after Seha.

A wind blew through their form, bringing the scent of jasmine with it and invading their noses with its pure aroma.

Celeste grabbed the hood that was about to fall down from the back of her head. Placing it back on her white, silky hair glistening under the sunlight.

The heat is unforgiving and Celeste feels like she will be burned to ashes if she doesn't get into a house any time soon. She pulls at her sleeves and hides her pale, slender fingers.

"You are a witch, aren't you?" Seha puffs out a sigh at Ayz's question.

"I'm really done with you, Ay." He says, gazing at Ayz blankly, yet fondly.

"Why? I just, you know, I felt that way. Don't you think that too? Look at her black robe and the hood. Who wore it in heated summers like this? And—"

"Save it for later, I'm not one." Celeste rolled her eyes. She's afraid she's the one who's done with these two.

"Uh oh." Ayz mumbles, lips jutting out in a fake, playful pout. "But I thought you were one, lady witch."

Seha's head tossed back into a groan as he stopped walking and twirled back to face his partner, taking a quick stride to him and grabbing his bicep before starting to walk again. "You'll not say a word till we reach our home."

Ayz halted on his feet, making Seha stumble back with a gasp. "Our home?"

Celeste watched them with confused eyes as Seha sighs and nodded his head, "Yeah, we're taking her home."

"We're not!" Ayz growled, unlike Celeste who flinched from the harshness in his gruff voice, Seha stood his ground, unblinking as he stared up at Ayz.

Celeste clenched her fingers around the silk of his robe. She feels suffocated, from everything, the blazing sun that is trying to pierce into her clothing and burn her, and now the new information that she'll be taken to these strangers' home.

She didn't want this. She's not anyone's toy,  she won't listen to them anymore, no.

"Cut it! I'm not coming to your home nor the pack leader or the palace. I've had enough of your drama. Leave me in my way. Who are you to think you have every right to make me feel like your prisoner?" Blood rushes to her face in a heated swoosh, painting it scarlet.

Anger poisoned her veins and blurred her vision. Maybe it's the noble in her that triggered this, she's not used to people treating her as shit.

Ayz's and Seha's heads snap at her, eyes narrowing as their scent thickens in the air, adding to her suffocation.

Ayz squints his eyes and looks back at Seha, jaw clenching, then gazing back at Celeste with fire in his eyes.

"We are the people of Elyzhn, and we can't let a threat slip through that easily when we care for the kingdom greatly and you, whoever you are, were found in the forest in a suspicious circumstance. Now tell me who in the hell are you to question us when you are the one who has no right to do that?"

Ayz's every word felt like it was a burning slap against her face. Her crystal blue eyes widen as she tries hard to hold eye contact with him.

Celeste feels her body tremble from the alpha pheromones. She's terribly intimidated by Ayz and she can almost feel Seha boring holes into her face with his burning gaze.

Once again she feels vulnerable and wants to hide from everything.
