The beginning

'give me a name.' Jonathan asked the man whom he had tied to the chair.

Jonathan did not know his name or anything about him, except for the fact that he had seen him several times with Emily, the woman who was responsible for his daughter's death.

'I swear to God.' the man said sobbing. 'i only work for her as her lawyer, I have no idea about what you want to know.' he said.

His face was bloodied and his left eye swollen. There were spots of blood on his shirt and on the floor in front of him.

Jonathan had him tied up for hours as he did whatsoever he could to get the man to admit to what he accused him of.

'you cannot tell me that you do not know about one person, at least, that your boss cares about?' Jonathan said and with that he swung his left hand and smacked the man across the face.

'Ahh!' the man groaned in pain. He spat on the floor and it was a mixture of blood and saliva.

Jonathan walked over to a table that was closed by a metal bar. He walked quietly over to the fire place and puts the rod into the fire.

The man's eyes bulged in fear as he realized what Jonathan was about to do.

'i am telling you the truth.' the man protested with a louder voice than before. 'i have no idea.'

Jonathan did not speak to him or looked at him but had his attention focused on the rod which he had just put into the fire.

As the rod became red with heat, Jonathan reached for a pair of gloves that were on his mantelpiece and as he done them on, he looked at the man with coldness in his eyes and said, 'last chance.'

The man shook his head at him with much fear in his eyes, 'i do not know.'

Jonathan shrugged at him and then took out the rod from the fire and walked towards him.

'wait.' the man said. 'i think I have an idea now.' the man spoke as he looked as the red hot rod in Jonathan's hand with fear.
