Chapter 28

“Well…”

“Help me,” he said to Wayne.

Wayne came over, with the salesman in tow. “Does it come in other colors?” he asked the man

“Brown and gray.” He showed Wayne the sample cards.

Rae looked, wrinkled her nose, and said, “They’ll take the maroon one, and the matching arm chair. Now, coffee tables.”

Wayne and Lou groaned as they followed her to look at what was available. By the time they left the store, they’d added a coffee table, and arm chairs for their bedrooms, to the list as well, all paid for with a platinum card belonging to William Brown. Wayne told the salesman he’d be in touch about the delivery date as soon as the house was theirs

Their last stop for the day was a bed and mattress store. Wayne and Lou made quick work of picking a king-sized bed, headboard, dresser, and nightstand. Rae took her time, finally settling on a bedroom set that Lou deemed “cute” because it was teal.
