Chapter 8

Zeus- pov

While in my office I sat in my chair thinking about Ariel, whispering her name to myself. What a beautiful name, and she is so gorgeous, I find her breath taking. I smiled remembering how she yelled at me to put her down, her fists pounding into my chest. It took everything in me not to laugh at her attempt and the look of false hatred that she gave me whilst I carried her out of the banquet hall. It will be hard to wait to see her again but I must give her space. A little over an hour later Haffy informs me via mind link that Ruth has returned to the banquet with her mate Jacob and Ariel is getting ready for bed.

I smile and send for the servants to clean up the dishes from dinner and start to walk to my room and wait for her. I walk into my room the servants had already come and gone. I could hear the shower still going so I decided to make myself comfortable; it was my room after all. I dimmed the lights to the lowest setting and sat in my special chair that was in the far left corner of the room. Moments later I hear the door open slowly, Hades was close to the surface so my eyes were turning navy blue and I am sure she would be able to see some of the golden specks that were there.

As our eyes met Hades growled and a low deep sensual growl escaped my lips. With that he pushed me out of the way and was in full control. I thought he was laying it on a bit too thick but I couldn't help my curiosity. I saw that she jumped ever so slightly at the sound and it only excited me more. She started to slowly walk towards the bed and so did I, but before she to reach the bed I swiftly leaped and grabbed her firmly and pinned up against the wall blocking any chance of escape. She gasped, the air becoming thick and heavy between us, I growled lowly at our closeness.

I couldn't help myself, Hades was in control and so far I was loving what he was doing until I saw that Ariel was struggling with what I could sense was her wolf. That made me a bit sad "Hades, you need to ease-up, I don't want to push her". He inwardly scoffed at me "Don't be ridiculous, I can tell she want's this and so do you, so back off!" I started to push at him "Hades, stop pull back" I said firmly. He eased up not before he nuzzled our face into Ariel's neck and we both had equal control now.

Ariel didn't try to stop us instead she began to sniff and nuzzle her face into our neck as well. This made Hades and I happy and we started to lightly and thoughtfully kiss her beautiful soft neck. It felt like hours had passed as we worked our way down her neck to the spot where we would one day place our mark. My wolf purred in utter delight. I heard a small whimper escape Ariels lips at my touch and that threw me over the edge. I wanted to take her and have her right now. I lost control and started to kiss and lick her neck from top to bottom. I was about to nip at my favorite spot when I heard her say "...Stop, please". I froze; what had I done, I went too far. I cursed at my self and felt Hades move back with a whimper. We didn't want to hurt or force our mate to do anything.

I took in one more deep breath of her intoxicating scent, in an effort to center myself, I moved away from her neck and looked directly into her eyes. "Forgive me, I did not mean to go so far; my wolf Hades apologizes as well. We do not wish to force you or over step. We have waited and searched for you for a long time and our excitement is a bit hard to control" I stated honestly.

Ariel took in a deep breath and I prepared myself for her judgment, "Yes, I understand; it has been a long night and I would like to rest". she replied tearing her gaze from me and looking at my bed, this hurt a bit to see her turn away from me. I stood up straight, took a step back and replied "Of course, please rest; I will see you tomorrow, Princess". After I walked out the door and headed towards my office I heard Ariel softly moan once more.

It took everything in me not to tear the door down and take her right then. My hands were balled into a fists and my nails were starting to cut into my skin. Hades was having a hard time controlling himself and I him. In the distance I could hear Ariel curse herself and yell "What is wrong with me?!" I felt the same and I needed some air, so I decided to go for a run instead.

I went out the front door and quickly changed into my wolf form. I started to run and listen to Hades while he ranted. "Zeus, did you hear our mate, she wants us, why can't we have her now"?

I huffed inwardly and replied "What you heard was the mate bond, we just met, these things take time and we must be patient with her. I don't know why Ariel didn't want to come with us in the first place, so we should figure out the source of her hesitations first". Hades didn't reply but I could feel that he understood. After two hours of running I decided it was time to return to the house. I went to my office and circled a comfortable place to lay down on the floor and fell asleep still in my wolf form.
